thanks zelda! so happy to hear that you have a fren who delivered triplets last year. I can't find many triplets mummies to share information with so am rather lost. How many weeks did your fren carry her triplets to? Do you know which gynae/hospital was she with?

BB, im also hesitating on whether to do these tests as my current gynae said there's very high risk of miscarriage to poke 3x into the uterus.
 


Mei: your boss is just an employee not a biz partner? Govt is paying 3 mths of our salary during maternity, while co pays only a mth. Unless one can tell me a temp staff cost more than a perm, otherwise co will not lose $$. Now he even cost the co of a good employee.

Darine gal >> I went gynae today for checkup because my spotting came back. Different from my usual gynae (cos he's on leave), a colleague stand-by for emergency cases, so I asked this gynae to demonstrate for me how big is the difference in measurement from different angles - and can be as much as 3mm difference! He also explained that at the angle where they are trying to get the heartbeat, it's kind of skewed instead of straight ahead, so bb tends to look a bit shorter. So stay positive yar!

tethysea (tethysea).. thanks so much... yup.. me trying not to think.. and i keep telling baby to grow... everyday! think my baby would think i'm a nag! but i still have this fear... thanks though... u have been such a comforting soul...

Jo-> He is just an employee, but I suppose my maternity will inconvenience him since he will probably be the one who is required to cover me and he talks thousand times more than he works. So having to work may be difficult for him.

Will take it as taking a break from work.

It's stressful working for him as he don't seem to understand the urgency to be away from work etc because of kids and doesn't trust his staff. My son was hospitalised for acute bronchitis 1+ week ago and I sms him to take 2 days urgent leave. He wasn't very happy when I returned to work and when I told him about my pregnany a few days later, he had the cheek to say "so you were on urgent leave because of your pregnancy". I was so pissed I told him you can call up Mt A to check if my son was indeed hospitalised.

He's the worst boss that I've ever worked for so far. Really hope I won't meet someone else like him in future.
 
mei.. would this be additional financial stress? of course if you can, a break would be most ideal.. u can care for ur boy too.. but would be too easy on this person... coz we are protected by MOM too...
 
darine gal, yeah, i agree with tethysea. My gynae had to remeasure one of my babies too and the difference can be as great as 1 week. It's just the different angles. Don't worry.

hmmm.. but my gynae seems to think otherwise.. which lead me to think if i should see another gynae for 2nd opinion... but my sis cautioned me against too many scan for baby... coz initially i planned to see 2 gynaes this coming friday... but after what my sis say... i' having 2nd thots..

Mei: i'm actually facing similar problem as you.. for my my big boss din say anything, but dept head and manager is so demanding.. and when i feel sick i still have to run out to meet clients. for me yes the are single so they will not understand what we are ever going through. They make me so disappointed and pissed off until i feel like resigning.... but have to hang on no matter what.. now preggy we cannot find another job de.

phylee: congrats, wow triplets... my hubby was hoping for twins but we didn't get any.. must have lots of rest and take good care of yourself.

For medical diagnostic is ok - I did twice weekly scans for the past 2 weeks, so I've been reading up on it. Some ppl in the States actually do for vanity sake, like take ultrasound photos for the memories - now THAT is discouraged.</font>
 
Darine-> Yes, will definitely need to adjust our finances till next year. We'll be changing my son's childcare to HD and taking him out from his Shichida class to cut some costs. I think should still be able to cope if we scrimp a little here and there.

Wenwen-> Try and hang on as far as possible ya! It'll be impossible to find another job given our pregnancy. If possible, should take advantage of the maternity benefits.
 
wenwen: don't get so upset, tell yourself it's just a job. your life time job is Mom to your kid!
my boss made life v hard for me when i got married &amp; got to know from a colleague that she's v harsh because she thinks that I'll be on maternity very soon. She's single. But the thought that she dare to share this with another person?!
 
I don't understand why people have to be so mean over marriages and pregnancy. Isn't that part and parcel of life? Pregnant women are already trying their best to cope with MS, work and family. Why do they have to do that?

Having said that, I believe what goes around comes around and they'll reap what they sow. So let's all look on the positive side to the end of MS and delivery next Mar.

Jo: initially i was very disappointed cos i was happy working here even though the work is too much and i have to often work OT but no complains. Until now that i'm preggy it is already difficult to hang in there during noon time or when feeling unwell they still expect me to work OT. i dun mind working OT from home but they just think i should work OT in office not home n all kinds of damands. now i tell myself if everything goes smoothly i will not need to work for others but helping my hubby with his business. so i hang in there for maternity benefit and hubby's business.
 
Mei: I believe for single bosses could be she's emo too, seeing a younger employee setting up her family. choose to believe that they are not bad in nature but didn't know how to handle the situatio and thus hurt others in the process.
Wenwen: if you are very tired and with MS be upfront, tell your boss that you are very tired and if you can be excused. don't tell in advance but at the spot. telling in adv boss may think you plan it. sometimes ppl just like to think -ve
 
Mei, well said!! Wat goes round comes round. I always tell myself one day they will know. Actually a lot of singles won't know how it feels to b pregnant. Dats y always got inconsiderate pple refuse to give up priority seat. I once saw a young lady totally Bo chup a heavily pregnant woman standing near her and just snatched the seat.

Hi Mei, glad that you finally leaving that company w the sick boss.. They do not understand our feelings... If you still staying in the company, you shld complain to MOM.. Our government wanted more babies, but when we did, all we get is abuse from our co-work.. So sad &amp; unfair!
Hi Zelda, it sound so nice to have someone sticky to you.. But it's sure v tiring.. Haha yes, I stay near office area.. But I dun work there so no diff to me..

seems alot of boss now are so inconsiderate .. its so hard for mummies to cope with ms already and yet bosses are so not understanding !!
 
and colleagues too, mom to 2 gitls 11 and 13 so? still give me black face when i din go work for 2 days cos of spotting. today din go work again, headache + MS, bet sure black face tomorrow...
her time she said before wasn't easy too &amp; took many days off. but ppl tend look at own needs &amp; forget others.
must remind myself cannot be like that...
 
Tethysea, ya. Actually I dun think many of us walk into the train 'expecting' pple to give seat to us. In fact I used to avoid standing in front of priority seat. But it is a very nice and warm gesture when kind souls offer a seat to us. I am grateful when there are kind souls and will make sure i thank them. For those who pretend dun see us, I tell myself one day these pple will become mums, dads then they will know wat it feels to be heavily pregnant and standing for long journeys and hod dangerous it can b. Our trains sometimes happy happy jam brake.

Just to share with you, when I was peggy with my no.1, I had very bad ms and need to take mc very often and of cos, the co was not very happy, however, during the peak period,i did ot till midnight, went back to work on weekend, brought work home...all these hard work was not appreciated and was penalized heavily for the mc taken.. At the end of the day, my no.1 was born very small at 1.875kg, till today, my hb is still blaming me for stressing myself too much at work and refused to resign, hence the tiny baby. Then, I was thinking of the paid maternity leave
 
GG-> Yes, I know the feeling. A lot of times, nobody bothers to give up their seat to me when I was pregnant with No 1 as well. Most of them will be "asleep". Remembered this particular time when I almost fainted but no one helped. Lucky my hubby was around to get me out of the train to sit on the platform. However, there were ocassional times when people were really nice and volunteered to let me have their seats.

Jo-> Hope you're feeling better today? Ya, most people tend to look at their own needs and forget that others may be going through what they've gone through before.

Lotusmum-> Understand how you're feeling. I actually felt very "heartache" over the 4 months paid maternity as the additional money will definitely be handy. But then, was afraid that if I stay on and everyday think of this boss that I dislike, my baby will end up looking like him. If he's good looking, I won't mind but he's not. One of my aunt quarrelled with her fil and she told me she disliked him a lot during her 2nd pregnancy, when her son was born, he looked exactly like the fil(very old looking as well for a baby). Whereas her No 1 and No 3 were so cute and good looking. Think at the end of the day, most companies/bosses only look at what you've done wrong rather than what good you have done, so moral of the story is to put yourself and family first.

The time another colleague went on maternity she also whole of the 4 mths sighing away. Usual days try to look v sweet. Really can't tell one till the thing happen. True colors all seen

popping by to say hello... been reading your posts but didnt comment... feel tired at work and the neusea feeling all the while... yesterday is the peak, puke 3 times in office... very miserable...
i wanted to look for new job in may too but got pregnant before finding new job.
no choice have to hang on to this one now, which i dislike and sick also...
last week on 2 days mc, and boss asked me nothing serious right?? i said nope... only to tell him my pregnancy in another 2 weeks time... he has some plans for me in work, and will surely affect his planning... but who cares... i just do my best, i cant risk myself and my BB for the company...
i leave on time these few weeks... going pass the MS and this pregnancy smoothly is my priority nw...
cos of MS, sometimes i really moody... during MCs and weekends, i can sleep and sleep the whole day... no energy at all..

Me also feel very sleepy all the time, although not working, still need look to look after no.1
 
i look like some drug addict at my work desk! hahaha... coz feeling nauseated... so i bought peppermint tea bags... but i dun like to drink... so now i'm smelling the tea-bags and the peppermint is indeed refreshing and easing that discomfort in the chest... if u are feeling nauseated... maybe can try... so far it's working ok for me... doesn't take it away completely but at least i can do my work!
 
Darine_gal: having these symptoms r gd aren't they? Hahaaa. Me too. Just woke up, eyes r closing for 1hr +
After getting preggy I'm getting more aware &amp; was just telling hubby now time to 修身养性 so that can teach BB gd values.

Ya not only smile at colleague, when to talk to her. No pt losing temper at work. It's just a job.
Not easy being FTWM. If too tired just rest, to me BB is the priority.
Lotusmum: has your no 1 weight &amp; growth now caught up?
Heard from ppl if during preg frown a lot BB will get it too. Seen it b4 on one of ppl I know. Better rest &amp; relax.
 
Jo (faith_jo).. for once i felt happy though feeling like shit.. hahaha.. but MS only means strong pregnancy hormones.. but does not equate to a healthy baby right...

that's my fear... gynae also ask if my discomfort has reduced... told him not really and he also mentioned at this point, at least we know the hormones are still going strong... fingers crossed till monday!

Actually, I think I've changed a lot after giving birth. Have definitely become more patient and tolerant towards others. I think motherhood is an incredible but very tiring journey.

Hey... wanna check with everyone. When does your tummy start showing? Its only 8 weeks for me but I find that my tummy has become rather big and I can't really fit into my skirts and pants anymore. Looks really horrible from the side even with loose clothes with the tummy jutting out. Is it common to for tummy to show so soon?

Thanks Tethysea. Now is the stage between being pregnant and looking fat... I try to suck in my tummy but even that can't work. Try to hard then tummy ache... hehe....
 
JuniorMe - i still consider lucky cos my elder kids are rather big already and they can look after themselves so i just still rest whenever i need to ..

Mei - i already cant fit into my bottoms when i'm pregnant in my 8weeks , for tops i just wear it with a big tummy showing lol .. if its #1 , it might not show so obvious , if its #2 onwards as wat tethysea say cos stomach is alrdy stretched before .. =)

Hi Mei, i think it's good to have showing tummy.. That's mean u r pretty slim.. Hee.. I m 7w+.. not a sign.. Hee.. My sister who is also obese like me.. Only show abit during 5th mth.. Thru out whole pregnancy.. No priority seat at all.. So sad.. Haha..
 
Pine4ling: yes saw a lady last night can't tell if she's preg or fat. Though quite big liaoz. When she finally had a seat. Gosh her sigh of anger shocked me at least.
 
morning girls, how's everyone coping with the dreadful MS?

i thought i was the only one showing a baby bump! It became obvious at about 7 weeks and now at 9 weeks, i feel that i look like 4 months preg le. Also starting to gain weight le.

still wearing my old skirts, just that instead of low waist, i wear them high waist now. hehe. i wanted to go get some maternity clothings but just too tired and with the MS, I don't know how i can shop!

Im also having a few major outbreaks esp along the hairline and around my mouth..

Ya, now everyday is a headache trying to find clothes to fit into. Think its still a bit early for maternity wear. Will probably go look around for a bellaband like Tethysea to use for now.
