Morning ladies!

congrats, Pinky! [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

My baby turning 16 weeks next week - hope can tell my baby's gender by my next appt.

Hi, all, received an urgent call from my gynae's office early this morn asking me to go down urgently to see my gynae regarding my oscar results. Just came back from my gynae's office.

My overall risk is 1:115 which is considered high-risk. So I will be doing the amino-test in another 1 mth's time. But my gynae told me his measurement for the neck thickness is diff frm the sonographer. So, if he is to amend the report from his results, my risk will be low. But in his opinion, he thinks it still considered low risk as it's only 1%. But I still prefer to go ahead with the amino test just to be on the safe side.

Hi Daphne, err..is it worth to risk the 3% chances of miscarrige to go for the amnio if your risk for ur bb down.s is only 1% as advised by your Gynae? did ur Gynae recommend u to go for the amnio?

Hi Ting, my gynae said is up to us to decide if we wanna go ahead with the amino test. He check the position of my plancenta etc and said tat mine shd be easy. He said if my placenta position is not good, he will hesitate to go ahead with the test. Since he sounds so confident, so I guess shd be quite ok... My hb & me did not want to risk having a DS child to look after. Since this test is 100% accurate, we rather go for it.

Daphne! Dont worry, since your doc said the thickness according to his scan is normal, you should be under low-risk. Even if you plan to do amnio I am sure everything will come out normal.

Good Luck with your test [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif] take it easy[IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

Sherill & Ting, thanks!

But I need to wait till 1 mth later to do the amino test. Cos my gynae said tat the risk of m/c will be lower if perform between 16 to 18 weeks. I will be doing the test at 17 weeks.

I use both the Clarins Tonic Oil & Stretch Mark Cream. I dun find it oily. In fact, my skins feels comfortable. [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

sherill, can update mine too?

EDD - 15 Jan 2011

2nd pregnancy

Dr Eunice Chua (TMC)

Area - North

Daphne,

Good luck for ur test. Shld be ok, since the gynae should have done many amino test before. And u get to confirm the gender of your baby too!

hoshi, thanks... Yeah, the test will tell me for sure the gender of my baby.

Still got 1 more mth to go before the test. Hope can get the test done sooner & know the results.

Poor Mummy, thanks!

Think cos this is not my first pregnancy, so I'm actually quite relax over it. Just tat I wanna know the results so tat I can make a decision. But anyway I had my son with me to encourage me...

This morn when the nurse called me, she sounded so serious asking me to go down immediately by today. Then I asked her if I can go down tmrw or is it neccessary as I know the only option is to do the amnio test. I told her to just book appt for the test. Then she said my gynae need to discuss with me first. She ask me why I'm not kancheong to know the overall oscar results and said tat I am very positive. She said some patients she called already started crying when heard about being high-risk.

Daphne, that's the spirit! Sometimes we waste too much energy over things that we have no control over, then end up all depressed!

Ladies, have been sooo busy! cannot read forum on regular basis! But thanks to all who reply on my folic acid question.. these days, I feel so full if I have to swallow my pills after breakfast!

I have also been late going to work... every morning, open the wardrobe, stare at the clothes for so long! It's like, the normal clothes don't fit, but the maternity clothes are TOO BIG! and I am not a dress person, so don't have a lot of dresses to wear... SIGH.......

Daphne - Yr son is so cute, how old is he? Able to encourage you [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif] My frd's 1:2000 and she was asked to do amnio as well.. comes out a very healthy and cute BB.

Misty - You look to yr left, there's a "menu" u can select new arrivals/ summer collection/ pants etc etc

Those in bracket with numbers (51) is the no of items in that category.

Misty, yeah, I dun want to think about things tat I cannot control..

Poor Mummy, no lah, my son is only 9 mths plus. Wat I meant is I hv my son with me, so it's a form of encouragement. Looking at my son, I'm sure my this baby will be healthy also...

Yr fren's risk is only 1:2000 yet still need to do the amnio test? Think as long as over 1:300, is considered low risk..

hi all... just ended a tiring day..

working wife.. i'm using Clarins Stretch Mark Control Cream and Body Treatment Oil.. the oil is yellowish in colour but not oily after applying on skin.. the cream is richer actually..

coconutz - Hhaha we have to fullfill certain training hours every year... so.. just go..

Hi Sherill - Can u update my info?

Age: 27

EDD: 14 Jan

Gynae : Kenneth lee

Hospital: Mount A

Child #: 1

Area: AMK

thanks

Ting,

yes my girl is 2.5YO. currently she's drinking milk 3 times a day, morn after wake up, afternoon b4 nap and night b4 sleep. each time abt 7-8oz (200-240ml)

i think now our kiddos are old enough to know if they're hungry so maybe yr girl really is still hungry. but my pd said at this age rather than increase milk to increase solid food wor. so maybe an additional snack before her night milk?

grumpus, my girl also drinking 3x/day but each milk feeding is definitely less than 200ml (abt 160ml). recently i tried to increase the milk serving to 240ml but she still drink 160ml only. and she will wake up in the middle of the nite to request for milk. i think i will take your advise to give her some snacks before bedtime. Thanks.

On the topic stretch mark cream. How abt mothercare's cream? I got one n use since 2 months. Still on it now. Is it effective too? A fren recommended boots cream from Bangkok. Was cheap n effective but must get from Bangkok

Komanthi - thanks for the info. i didn't take up for my first so was thinking of doing it for the 2nd one. My Gynae advise not to sign up too early as they always have promotion, like the ones in Aug. Glad that u have signed up for the antenatal classes.. enjoy.

I used clarins stretch mark cream too not with the oil though, think i am prone to stretch marks so only helped alittle.

I think 1st pregnancy wun show so early.. prob by 2nd trimester, it will be pretty obvious.

Hi Sherill, Can you update the table below

Do all of u have fantastic appetite? I m in 15 wks now n find that I am eating lesser for dinner. Breakfast n lunch ok. N I m not really eating very healthily too. I do not take fried food but neither do I consistently take greens m fish every meal. In fact I hate fish. Beside fish, what other food can we take for brain development?

Lastly, beside fish oil in soft gel form, is there other brands that are smaller in size? I can't swallow big ones.

good morning ladies!

ivftwins

my appetite was fantastic during the 12 - 14 weeks. but now at 15 weeks, my appetite is not as good as before, though i still take full meals but with lesser snacks : P

i hate fish now but tink the phase will pass. for my #1, i started taking fish fr 5 mths onwards. my gynae never prescribed fish oil for me too. anyway, i dun tink my boi is slow in development. in fact, he is great! keke... all mummies tink their children is the best. : D

Morning ladies! It's a rainy gloomy day... good for sleep in... but still have to go to work...

ivftwins,

I'm taking neurogainpb now... it's in small capsule form. Normally I also have difficulty taking pills like panadol and so on, but I find this very easy to swallow... U can give it a try. Can get from the BP... I bought it at $26, outside guardian selling at $34... [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

Hi all, any of u or yr frens done the amnio test before? Any feedbacks?

My gynae told me it's not painful and can go back to work the next day. But my sis is telling me her fren did the test 6 yrs ago and it's actually quite painful. I read in the internet tat hv to rest for a few days and avoid carrying heavy things so tat the needle whole in the waterbag will heal. Not sure which is true??

Shycloud: yes. the aircon wrks really well whn its rainin outside..haa!

Daphne:If ur doc np then should be much of an issue.. but if ur worried.. take a day off n rest at hm.

Daphne: good luck, I am sure everything will be fine.

Oscar test: went for my oscar test yesterday and everything was normal.

Ting: My coming to 2.5 yr old having been waking up to drink milk 1 to 2 times in the night just like a baby and its making me very very tired. I tried to up her milk intake before bedtime but she cannot finish. And because she is drinking a lot, she tends to wet her bed too. If i don't give her, she will wail and cry. I really dunno what to do.

apple

can give her some snacks before she went to bed? if keep waking up at night, very tiring for u le... my boi still cant sleep thru the night and sometimes, i dread sleeping wif him cos i m so tired at times.

Daphne: It should not be very painful and if you have no choice you have to do it right? I would say dont worry if you trust your doctor and just let it be done. If you have cramping, rest more day or else one day should be enough. Not to mention that you are already not carrying heavy things being pregnant.

Take care and take it easy. Many people I know did amnio and results were all good. Sometimes docs scare us unnecessarily and do more tests to make money .

Good Luck!

yah coconutz: actually she ate quite a bit in the evening. sometimes i dare not give her too much cos if she is too full she will puke. What snacks do u normally give? Fruits?

I dunno what happen cos she has been sleeping thru since she was 3 mths old and only recent mths that she keeps waking up.

An amazing thing happened, I went for checkup ytd and I actually lost weight!

shycloud: I really hope so! Last time there are short periods like that and I attribute to growth spurt. This time lasted for quite long!
