IVF with KKH (Dr Matthew Lau)


Hi meilingg and sumiko83..:)
I am new here.goin to c dr matthew tis 14/4 for the 1st time since we hv decide to proceed with Ivf.I hv irregular menses also.last 2 weeks only came a little spotting :-(
I m waiting for my hubby sperm count result.i hv pcos too.
What's the benefits of drinking longan n red dates tea or red bean soup?
I am on obese side..dr suzanna fr kkh advice me 2 lose weight..i m trying though..I have few questions..how much cash do i have to fork out in total?
Any advice on wat shld my body be prepared after seeing dr lau..i just had my body massaged..will b goin to tcm too to tiao my body..my hands n feet is always cold..thanks..

Hi LadyHawkEye, welcome to our chat gp. :) Drinking longan and red date tea helps to keep the womb warm and red bean soup helps to increase the lining thickness. Both help to promote a more conducive environment for implantation to take place. Also we are eating egg whites and drinking ensure milk to increase our protein intake for good quality eggs.
So far we only fork out a 500 plus for the ivf briefing and blood tests. The rest such as jabs and scans are paid through medisave.
I used to have cold feet and hands but after drinking the longan tea, I don't have this problem anymore. Since dr advised u to lose weight, u shld go exercise. :) start now! ;)

So far i have not gonna my bill yet. But upfront the registration plus counseling fee was like $500 plus. Then insurance for embryo, 1 for $68.48, 2 for $200 plus. All these have to pay in cash, no medisave.

For the ivf, government grant is 6k then the rest is medisave...

Try not to drink cold drinks, eat "cold" or "cooling" food bah... Some wear socks to sleep, or tummy warmer. Tummy warmer can get from daiso.

When you planning to start your ivf?
 
Oh yea.. Chicken essence and Brazil nuts.
For hubby, ask him to take brazil nuts and the supplements recommended by the doc.

Yep u can start drinking anytime. I started almost a month before my menses come. U can make the tea yourself. I used to put the washed items (wolfberries longan red dates) in a small thermal flask and pour hot water. Now I boiled them and pour it in a bigger flask. It's up to u. ;) Quantity also depends on individuals. You can estimate it yourself.

Cold storage (organic section). Places that sells nuts will have too. Like, pat's oven @ vivo, there's 1 at jem ntuc (near cashiers exit).

At cold storage, it is known as brazil kennels.

Cheerywalnuts, what time are u gg kk for your trigger shot? Jiayou!!! Moving on liao.. ;)

I usually buy my brazil nuts from nuts and nibbles. But both outlets at jurong point and bugis are down for reno. Bobian go cold storage buy. Cold storage ones are pre packed, not as crunchy (fresh)..

Meiling, how are u feeling today? Still cramp?

Body sort of adjusted to the increased dosage. So far okie.
Nuts and nibbles sells 5.50 per 100g while cold storage is about 4.60 per pack of 100g. NN ones are bigger and u will realize 100g is not much. Haha.. cold storage ones are smaller.

Ya. Still on and off cramps... Feel bloated also. And sometimes can feel like burning sensation inside...
 
Wait till tue and see whats the result bah...
My holidays are over soon~~~~
No more afternoon nap for me...

Yap ard & below chest area :) at later staged will have more heartburn. Cos the baby push the stomach up as he grows resulting in the bloatness & indigestion

I also not sure if is really heartburn cos dun really know how it should feels. Only know sometime can feel a sudden hot flash in my body.

2 days more and i will know if these symptoms are working good for me or not~~~ keeping my fingers crossed!

The nurse never asked if i wan thighs or buttock. Straightaway asked me to pull down shorts and piak~

Still ok. Dont really feel the pain.. So u tue gg for er at 10am?

Yap the nurse is very nice. Told me to relax and breathe in & out according to her rhythm. I think thighs will be more painful cos muscle more sensitive.

Hi my dear, just did my scan, review and collect med. Lining 10mm and biggest follicle 23 but there are still a few with 14 - 15. So one more day of jab. ER on thurs and ET on satd.

Now back to clinic and wait to be called at the reception counter. I'll need to get time chit from them. Today need relief trs for my class. First day of school and I don't get to see the kids.

No worries they go for the majority. By thurs all will catchup to above 17 :) Lining is good! Wow u already knew ur ET date. I dunno mind yet no info given abt it from the last scan. Only know er. But guess the window period shld be thurs to sat as day 5 is a sunday. Unless they do day 6 then is next mon.

So u need to go back sch after scan? Go back rest better & see them tmr :D

That's what the doc told me. Not sure what Dr lau will say.

I'm now at the foodcourt having porridge. Yep gg back to school later. Lots of hols hmwk to mark. And got cca in the aftn. Karma.. give them so much hmwk now got to mark. :confused: lolz. ..
 


Are we given Mc the day after the trigger shot? Or I mean the day before the egg retrieval? I need to plan for relief..
