GA no fun right? i had panic attack in between asleep and awake. damn scary. couldn't breathe and thot operation failed and i was gonna die. i heard the doc calling me, saying baby needs me, wake up, wake up! then the stupid nurse saying, "eh.. how come she still not waking huh?" that was really a screwed up moment for me! so... NO MORE GA!

how come very good feeling? thought will feel a lot of pressure then feel like vomiting? you didn't feel that at all?

hmm.. #3 i intend to go back to Mt A ( same as #1).. not sure if they allow hubby in! if not i choose TMC!!

 
ladies , there is c-section, epi, vbac, natural and wat others.. i only know natural and i dun the diff between the rest of the others lei... aiyo me...

starry- i wont want to go for GA. I had the nausea, vomitting wanna die kind of feeling. And worse i didnt even get to see my baby till i was awake dont know how long later.

(hmm..maybe thats y i m closer with my #2? i feel so bad sometimes my #1 kind left out like that)

epi was abit painful. and I had bad pain in my lower back due to epi after a few months. lasted for almost a yr

easy.. c-sect you know already right? can be caused by many factors... multiples, no proper dilation (baby cannot come out), breech baby (baby's head remain upwards, not downwards), complications during labour etc etc...



epi is epidural, and anesthesia injected into the spine resulting in temporary loss of feeling from chest/waist down.



vbac is Vaginal Birth After Cesarean.



natural is vaginal birth.



episiotomy very commonly happens during natural birth. it is the surgical cutting of the vaginal area to widen the birth canal so that baby can be pushed out.

i had none of those things after GA, except groggyness. i felt like i was drugged for 2 whole days!

yes, i was having bad backpains to date. went for check ups 4mths after i delivered, asked if this is due to e epi, the doc told me quite unlikely that e effects of epi would last that long.



had x-rays which showed some narrowing of disc space. was supposed to go SGH for an MRI but guess will hv to shelve this for now.

vbac can only be done for ladies 2nd/3rd delivery. pls coorect me if am wrong here



uNDER wat circumstances does one need GA

not all csects are under GA. if epi csect the mummy will be FULLY awake but cannot feel any pain while op is going on.



vbac is for 2nd/3rd time mummies who previously had csect before. like me, angel, yan! [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif] but again, not all who had csect can try vbac. usually gynae will advise as there is small chance that during vbac the old csect wound may tear.



GA if i am not wrong is given during emergency csect or when epi is not working. i was told to go under GA because my previous gynae said he won't do epi for me and kept insisting on GA! talking abt this still makes me wanna rant. grr...

My gynae appt is only on the 10... By then should be 7 weeks based on my LMP. Hopefully can c the blinks strongly

hi piglet, i tink shld b ok leh. the prob with raw food is the worry abt contamination. ur royal jelly had been ok for u all along rite?

i bf her for 3 mths. really wanna continue but she didn't latch well. latch 5-10mins fell asleep and then less than 1 hr hungry again. so i pumped, but very hard to keep up with supply if 100% pump. in the end dropped till so low that i supplement most of her feed with FM then finally stopped pumping altogether. hope can bf at least 6mths for #2! yup! hubby bought insurance for her le. can't remember what's the name of the product though. which one are you talking about? the Pru First Gift?

I was given duphaston since monday, doc asked me to take twice a day and 1 tablet each time.

it's okay, don't panic. i took 2 pills per time before also. just call ur gynae tmr morning and ask him if it's ok to reduce back to 1 pill per time or better to continue with 2 pills.

I was with Mt A and they allow my hb to stay in the operating room after epi was administered. My hb was also allowed to carry camera & videocam. There is 1 nurse who followed my hb to view what he is filming and dun allow hb to film the cutting part. We managed to capture the moment my boy was pulled out in his bloody/mucus part till his cleanup part then several pictures of me, hb, bb and gynae. Come to think of it, it's so magical[IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

If opt for C-sec, do you experience labour pain? Or straight go hospital for C-sec even without waterbag breaking?

Actually it doesn't matter if you are taking 2 tabs each time. As duphaston is an "An Tai Yao" hence taking 2 tabs won't harm the baby. Could be your spotting is not serious type that's why your gynae prescribed you in low dosage. I was prescribed the same dosage as you but becos my spotting is ongoing, my gynae asked me to increase to 2tabs 2x or 1 tabs 3x. But due to the side effects I'm experiencing, I didn't increase dose and still continue with 1tabs 2x a day. So no worries, just switch back to your inital dosage.

Re: c-section i had the spinal block done ie the needle was inserted through my spine for awhile until i felt totally numb. The needle was then taken out. But i regretted eating danggui the day before the delivery cos i vomitted v badly at the recovery room. Recovery was fast i could move around normally 1 week after delivery.

Huishan, looks like we're both with Dr Ang! Were you with Dr Ang for #1 as well? Was it natural or C-section?



Since we're at the topic of birth process, my #1 is by emergency C-section. I did not get contractions even at 40w5d, so gynae recommended induction. Got an epidural after about 12 hours of induced labor. I didn't dilate for almost 20 hours from the start of induction, so gynae recommended C-section then because there's signs of fetal distress. Just had to 'top-up' the epidural for the C-section to make it stronger.



#2 was epidural + C-section (gynae said no VBAC because too risky).

#1, My C-sect was under GA.

Hmmm I remember i can feel the nurse's hands (Doing V-check) when i was under epi.



Thus, Dr can see tt i was too distress. Hubby suggest c-sect under GA.



Is it becos Epi not working on me? that i can still feel the hands?

I had a change of gynae. Cos Dr Ang's clinic nearer to my office. more convenient.



How you find Dr Ang?



I also was induced at week 40. Dilated only 5 cm after induced for 20 over hours.



Shall i stick to my #1 gyane, where my record is there?

Huishan, so your #1 wasn't with Dr Ang? Hmm, after epidural, I was totally comfortable, didn't feel anything like a v-check or any pain at all. For #2, felt numbness in my upper half tho, toward the end of the surgery; and felt like puking but it didn't happen.



I heard Dr Ang is good at stitching from another thread, so went to her for #1. I'm comfortable with her, so stayed with her for #2 and #3 as well.



But Dr Ang didn't deliver my babies, I delivered overseas. I saw her till about 32 weeks, then went overseas.



It will be my first birth in Singapore, so will be like my maiden birth here and will have tons of questions like a first-time-mum!

topic about #1 birth



Mine was emergency c sec too. After 15 hours, baby distress so got to c sec. Hubby was there to see the process.



Because #1 was c sec, we got to prevent getting preg within 2 years. Hope this time round could try natural.

Re: #1 birth you mummies are so brave as to go through 20 hours of labour. for me i've no option at all cos bb engaged and then disengaged. chance of normal birth was v slim and gynae said my GD complicates matters. haiz i want to try VBAC-hypnobirthing this time round.

Yup, cos c sec cannot preg within 2 years if not have to c sec again. For your case i'm not sure, can check with your gynae.



But that day i go gynae, he say all depends. If something crop up or what also have to c sec again.
