My 4 years old boy has been diagnosed with verbal dyspraxia. He is not able to plan his oral motor to combine two words. He only speaks mono syllables. His speech is not clear too. I am looking for parent support. If you have any kids with condition same as mine, please PM me. We can share the therapy/intervention/suitable primary school for our kids. Thanks.

Hi, may I ask how was the diagnosis done, and by whom? I have been worried about my 3 yr old girl. She only speaks single words, and if trying multiple syllables tends to drop some sounds. She cannot manage sentences or songs at all. Other than that she is a normal happy child, tho a bit on the shy side. I have done first assessments with ST at SGH (private), but the ST did not mention apraxia. I haven't continued the sessions due to schedule conflicts, but still very worried. Thanks. Nancy

Hi,

I brought my son for one hour assessment at pte therapy (not in the hospital). He is diagnosed at dyspraxic after the assessment and he is on therapy every week. PM me if you want to know the name of therapist.

Hi verbal dyspraxia could fall under the bigger dyspraxia condition, which actually is under the umbrella disorders of Developmental Co-ordination Disorder.
Perhaps you may be able to find some useful information through this website:
www.specialkidsclinic.com.sg and the FB page through the homepage.
As dyspraxia is not something that goes away completely, over the years, some changes in intervention and learning needs may be important to note. Therapy may not be the only thing to take note of. Schooling needs are also important.
