Trisomy 13 high risk

Any mummies here go through amniocentesis test before? My panorama results come back high risk today. It's 1:2 high risk for trisomy 13 I'm devastated and need advices

Hi Yuenchia, sorry to hear about that. I know it’s easy to tell you to remain hopeful and believe in baby, and I can understand the feelings as I am going through the same situation too. What did your gynae advise? And how old are you? I am 32 and my Oscar results just came back with a high NT measurement (4.8mm) with a 1:11 for TR13. Gynae advised to go for either CVS or amniocentesis test, which I opted for CVS with micro array test performed only yesterday. Still waiting for my results which will take 2 weeks and talking to baby daily. Stay strong and positive!

Hi Pooty, I am 35 yo. My Oscar result come back high risk at T18 1:230 so I proceed to do Panaroma test, it ends up I got T13 with 1:2 high risk. Doctor advise me to do Amniocentesis as it is more accurate than CVS (from placenta). I need to wait until week 16 which is another three weeks to go to perform amniocentesis + another 2 weeks wait for the results. I still feel hopeful and I hope you too. Just sharing my experience, our gynae referred us to Dr. TC Chang from Thomson Medical who specialises in high risk pregnancies. We were advised to do the CVS with a micro array, and that the micro array can pick up the rare genetic issues as they compare with the parents DNA. One of the main reasons was that we would know the results earlier, and are in the right period of time for CVS. I think even if the results are in our favour we still need to perform a fetal echocardiogram to look at the heart. Let me know how you go and stay strong!

My NT scan, nasal bone and heart rate for baby through ultrasound looks normal. My gynae didn't suggest CSV cos she said the test will not be 100% ,accurate as amniocentesis due to it might mix up with placenta cell. How is your ultrasound scan for the baby and which week are you at now?

Apart from the high NT measurement, everything else seemed normal - nasal bone, heart rate etc. I’m at week 12+ now, just keeping hopeful for the results.
