Hi all,

My wife is in her week 23 and her feet and legs have started to get swollen.

Is this normal? Is there anyway to reduce the swell?

thank you.

She is having water retention, i guess.
Drink more water and eat less salty stuff.

Do feedback to your gynae too!

Oh....i thought it is normal for her to have swollen feet due to the pregnancy. She does not drink much water as she hated the smell.

Thanks for your advice, we will feedback to gynac on our next visit.

Yes it's normal during pregnancy, but if you keep that way, soon she hardly to walk n cant even put her feet on the floor.
I had this started as early as 18weeks.. hehe!

When she lay down, put pillow under her leg. drink more water (so that she can flush out more) n avoid salty stuff. Wear socks,
she can also have foot spa, can DIY.. put warm water (not hot ah) in pail for relaxing.
My hub did massage my feet like 2-3times a week.

Some said not to walk too much too.. Not sure if this true, cause I heard when nearer to labour, it's good to walk and exercise cause it helps our cervix muscle and faster opening for labour..

Hi,

Thanks for the advice.

We shared with our gynce few days back and he said everything looks ok. Gynace advised to put pillow under her feet and drink more water.

I have been massaging my wife's leg since she is pregnant as i understand that her legs will have cramps at night. I wanted to reduce the chances of her having cramps. (Finger crossed). so far only 2 nights she has cramps.

She wanted to walk more but her thigh will get sore at night.

Yupz, we will always get sore everywhere during pregnancy. That's life of pregnancy. No one share the hardest part of pregnancy that woman have to went through. Soon you will see your wife keep on going to toilet at night, and please ensure she have a safe walk ya..
