Alternatively I am thinking of engaging a baby sitter who can travel to my home in Punggol.

Or any other parent on the way to Dayspring Kindy or other Childcare centres at Punggol end willing to give my DD a lift?

Payment neg. Pls PM me. Thks a lot.

Rhino,
i wanted to enroll my son in Bridged Montessori.
but they only accept 2yr old above, my son is now 14mths only.

I forgot to ask if they have afternoon session?
what are the fees like at bridged Montessori?

Hi Cheekygal
had PM u the fees. Yes they only accept 2yo onwards. My girl is 1 mth short to 2yo when she starts sch this late mar. She will b the baby in the pre-nursery class cos as far 2 y 9mos is the youngest they got.
For 2008 babies, almost all cc or kindy will start enrolment next yr, so your child is still young for childcare ctr min.18mos but gd to start now cos many got long waiting list.
Like Bridges cos they got open-concept layout, non-aircon environ, extensive authentic Montessori materials & manipulatives & closest Monte sch to home. Do make an appt b4 gog dn & they will show u the materials, assessment method, actual class activities etc. Even my dad is impressed by how gd/ stable the pre-N students can grab their paint brushes. Gd motor skills will affect handwriting.

If u are looking at nurturing your child to early independance (they 'll learn to clean up the table themselves after eating; keep the materials bak upon usage ... etc life skills), relatively strong pre-sch literary & not just simply prep or follow MOE guidelines for next level of education, u can try again later if interested. No waiting list also mainly due to its fee. ;p

For Montessori teaching, topics such as culture, geography, science, music, maths etc will be covered in interesting ways too.
Chinese strokes will adopt the sandpaper writing method.

They have a library with books or readers to be loaned on every fri, so the students can read over the wkends.
The teachers are caring & patient fr observation.

Will update more when my girl starts school.

Thks Sharon for recommending the pony ride.
My girl loves it so much that she refused to get off the back!

Great experience for her. I had tried horse-riding some years ago overseas but didnt expect her to be so brave.

But rem to bring mozzie patch or insect repellent cos she got 2 large bumps on the leg as souvenirs fr pasir ris park.

Rhino
good that ur girl like it.. I have not bring mine.

anyone have went to bird park and Dino park ? can share ? how to go from sengkang by public transport ?

Oh i think its Edith who made the recomm. Thks a lot. It's worth a try!

Planning to go Bird Park too but the weather is killing.

Bird Park is fun as well.
They have a place that you can buy the bird food to feed the birdies. Your children may like it a lot. If you like to take photos, you may even love it . Cos the birdies will even stand on your shoulder ..or arm..for the close up shots.

Do remenber to bring stroller and fan... for this kind of weather... ^^

Hi mummies,

We are thinking of organising a baby/family photoshoot in sengkang riverside park during one of the weekend in sept holiday. Anyone here is keen?

Hi Punggol/Sengkang mummies,
Does anyone have a part time cleaner to recommend? I need one, maybe once a week x 4 hours....usual duties of toilet washing, mopping floor, cleaning/dusting, ironing. PM me, thanks!

Hi, ND's girl,

Have you visit the open house of the CCC in Rivervle Drive 188C? (SGM LITTLE KIDZ @ RIVERVALE)

I have been there for the open house. And found one thing really need the parent to pay attention to. The lightening environment is not good. Because the ceiling fan is under the light. The whole environment is flickering. Even myself feel very uncomfortable when I stayed in the class room. It should be quite bad to the children's eyes. I have feedbacked to them. But the assistant supervisor said it is approved by MCYS. However, based on one of the teacher there say, this is not an regular item for the MCYS to check. Anyway, no matter which one is true, I just feel that this environment is not good for kid and baby. I hope they will change the ceiling fans to wall fan. I have let the supervisor knows. But looks like till now they are not doing anything yet.

PS. for infant care, the fee is very cheap compared to the others!

hihi az!

i finally found someone here that have common topic with me kekeke

oh i did not notice about the flickering light though...i have registered my girl for the full day cc already cos i find that the place is clean and new...will see how it goes

oh yes i agree the infant care is really cheap and i am tempted to put my smaller girl there too but i want to see how it goes with my elder girl first

hi mummies... found this thread to be really helpful :) can advise or send me a list of good kindergartens around Sengkang and Punggol? And simply those with high possibility of admission. I've queried St. Anne's last Aug, but they said it's full for 2011 and not even accepting waitlist now :-( hope for some help mummies as we are quite new in town.

pkum, infant care i think is the same as child care i think $180 after subsidy iirc.

blueangel, cc starts from 7am but then i only send my girl there around 8.30
