Prolonged jaundice

My nb is still having his jaundice at day 15 and in really worry. He tends to sleep lot and I am really not sure what to do.

Any one can share with me what can be done to help ?

My nb having the same problem, but as long as he poo n pee plus drink milk normally, his jaundice level will drop slowly as advice by PD. My nb took more than 1 month for his jaundice to drop.

my nb oso hv jaundice till re-admitted hospital for phototherapy 2 days...she oso likes to sleep, even being disturbed oso dun 1 wake up...i gave her 1 pc of green grape (make into juice), think the volume abt 5 cents wide, after that oso bathed her in some herbal bath for bb...3 days later all gone...
i feed her formula and give some water, make sure she poo2 n pee2 out regularly...then jaundice will gone...

My newborn till date at 6 weeks old still having jaundice. Eat and poop well, no idea why it isn't going down too

My baby gal also going to week 4.. still having mild jaundice.. my pd advice as long she drinks well, urine n poo frequently its fine.. some jaundice are cause by breastmilk.. my pd say if breast feedibg jaundice sometimes take longer time to recover...

Hi Siling, I believe ur nb should be free from jaundice today.
May I know how long that ur nb free from jaundice?
My nb is day 14 but jaundice still on high side, 232..even is dropping but not much..
Can adv what u have done?

I have bathed him with the chinese 'nge ki' which I bought from Chinese medical shop and alternative gave him formula.

Suntan ur bb.. especially the 7 to 8am sun... about 15mins daily.. undress ur baby... cover the eyes... try cutting down on bf n use fm first..sometimes can be bm jaundice.. tat is wat my pd said... give it a try.. my gal's jaundice on recover after 1month..

Hi my bb had very serious jaundice when born and the level even shot to 350 and was considered very critical and was admitted to hospital. We even rented the machine to use at home..we were on emotional roller coaster from week 1 till week 6...when he was finally cleared by pd...not to worry as some bb had breastmilk jaundice which would make the jaundice last longer.as long bb feeds and poos , it's normal. .. is ur bb on bm? It seems bm will make the jaundice last longer as in my case. My pd suggested to go on total formula for 2 days which indeed really brought the level down..then I alternate every feed with formula and bm.. It was only 6 weeks later that he was finally cleared of jaundice and I let him on total bm. .I understand ur frustration and fear as I underwent the same 4 mths ago. I was on emotional roller coaster every week seeing his level up and down...now my bb is happy 4 mths old ...Dun worry so much. .

My bb is 16 weeks today. He has jaundice from day 2 till abt 2 weeks ago become lower. Did a lot of tests due to persistent jaundice but thank God all the tests cleared and no problem w liver.

What I did was to pump BM to feed so that i know how much he takes and ensure he finishes a targeted any of milk per feed and per day. Also monitor his pee and poo...

I also wake him up abt 3-4hrly cos he tends to sleep more. Due to jaundice it is more impt for him to drink than to sleep.

Jaundice level climbed every week when I went back to PD for blood tests, only abt w12 onwards that jaundice began to drop. Dun worry!
