Hi All mummy here,

Just got my result for Oscar scan my gynae suggest me to go for amnio or harmony test as my rating was 1:38 consider high risk.

Can anyone share with me their experience by having this result I really hope that my baby are in good and I wasn't able sleep at all after hear the result by oscar scan. Very upset.
 


Hi Celine

How old are you? It could be just your age that skew the result cos Oscar incurred your age to calculate the risk. Suggest you go for harmony cos it non invasive and 99% accurate using blood test. U can also find out your baby gender.

Hi God's gift I was in age 32 now. Yes.. My gynae was suggested me to go harmony test and amnio test but she keep telling me amnio is the most accurate but having a risk of 1%. I'm worry to hear that.
 
Ya.. Try harmony first then..no risk to baby..also very accurate. If further test needed then amino. My Gyne told me there are people who did amino and after tar lost the baby...result came back the baby is healthy de.

Thanks god's gift but base on my rating of 1:38 I'm not sure how they calculate the risk level. Am I consider very high?
 
It seems to be quite high risk but because they use your age to include into the computation so the risk go up considerably..but your baby might be okie de. Dun worry too much, go for harmony test & u will have the result. I rad a lot that Oscar quite frequently give false positive de.

Thanks God's gift but I'm just curious how is the calculation it is? If my rating is 1:38 which mean what is the percentage it is? Is the calculation base on 100/38 = 2.6% ?

Hi Celine983, have you gotten back your harmony result? Is everything good? My Oscar ratio is 1:35 as bad as urs. Hope everything is good with u!
 
It's been awhile, I heard max should be 2 weeks and some got info on 10th day. My result should be due next week

How long you wait for your harmony test? Today is my day 15 aldy?? Why it was take more then 14 days?

I' am 27 year old and EDD is 05/2016. I' am in my 13th week now and completed the Down Syndrome test (OSCAR).

Unfortunately my Trisome 21 had a negative result.

I have been advised to take Prenatal Harmony test now.

We are very worried now.

Please share your experience or probability to have a good result after taking Prenatal Harmony test.

When I had #1 in 2014, my Oscar result was 1:98 and I did the CVS though my Dr assured me that it is only 1% and not to worry. There wasn't any harmony/panorama test available at that time. CVS was too traumatic for me as it required a very very long needle piercing, or I should say stabbing thru our belly and a miscarriage risk of 3%. I had nightmares for that few nights. Now #2, Oscar result was 1:148. Luckily, KKH recommend panorama test which only required 2 tubes of blood. Result came back on the 7th day (risk became 1:10,000- low risk) and gender revealed.
For me, both #1 & #2 ultrasound was perfectly normal, only when combined with blood test and other factors like age (currently 33yo), smoker/non-smoker, etc, the result became high risk.

Cost at KKH under pte: Oscar Test (for both blood test and ultrasound)- $600+, Panorama Test (Blood test only)- $900.

I should have skipped the Oscar Test as it is famous for its fake positive results (90% accurate only) and save the $600+ and go straight to Panorama Test (99% accurate). The fake positive results add much unnecessary worry and stress to the mummies which could be avoided.

I got the Harmony test results last week and everything is normal.

As you said, OSCAR gave a fake positive result.

I hope to enjoy the rest of my pregnancy period and deliver a healthy baby.

Hi Dion, just want to know how come your panorama test is only $900? My gynae told me it's $1550 before GST. Wonder KKH provide Panorama test to walk-in patient like me?

My Panorama test actual price is $850 + $59.50 (GST) = $909.50 but dunno y I received a cheque of $50+ few days later. Mine is under KKH private. My gynae told me KKH is the cheapest. Maybe you wanna call and ask?
