IVF with Dr SF Loh or Dr Angela Ho - Advice needed

hi all,

can anyone advise me should i go for Dr Loh at TMC or Dr Ho the embryologist at CARE?

anyone has any success stories to share? any suggestions or comments about these 2 fertility centre?

really need help and appreciate any reply.

thanks for ur reply. did u went through IVF? im seeking 2nd opinion, currently with Dr Foong. any comments to share about Dr Loh and Angela? i have to choose between these 2 of course would prefer the one with higher success rate..

Hi Claris..

yes I did...Did 1 fresh and FET in KK..But both BFN though...

Did in CARE..Chemical Preg sadly..But 1 thing I am pretty glad there is a result..Eventhough nvr last..I know quite a no. of sistas BFP from here..The support given in CARE is very good..;-)

Actually both r k...Dr Loh is KK fav dr...But He has since shift to TMC...He has Magic Hands that wat's patients call him...He has just open his clinic but the or is not operating at the moment..Pending approval...So the centre is still in progress to settle things here and there...He is currently using CARE facilities for ER & ET...

Angela - she is an embroyologist..Their centre is good at wat they do..Only thing no dr...Angela will prepare u for ur IVF..But ER & ET will be done by Dr Paul...

Hmm Dr Foong..He quite good too rite...
 
bubbli, heard there are many couples succeed at CARE who are not managed to conceive at other IVF clinic. the success rate is high too.. u keep it up, stay positive and have faith.. u will succeed one day..

only thing i dont like in CARE is no Dr, i would prefer to see Angela as embryologist and Dr Loh as gynae but sad to hear that they are no link.. Dr Loh will have his own embryologist.. thats the reason make me hesitating which one should i go for 2nd opinion..

hope to get more reply from other sisters here..

Hmm for those under Angela..those who BFP will be under CARE till 1st tri..After 1st tri u can chose to be under Dr Paul or any other gynae...up to u...

Yes Dr Loh has his own embryologist...If I am not mistaken he is from kk too...Brought over by Dr Loh...;-)

I will be doing FET..I have frozen embbies..Fresh for CARE can cost more than 15K..but all this depends on your dosage and whether u require any additional jabs...

Hi all,

I'm one of SF Loh IVF patient.. I'm pregnant now with one baby , and am into my 17th Weeks.
I would recommend SF Loh to anyone who would like to he baby via IVF, cos of Dr Loh's skill n friendliness. Just feel comfortable with him

Not sure when I am doing though...Yup just hope all goes well when I start..;-)

My gynae wasn't Dr Loh in KK..It is another dr...But I heard good reviews from all my frens who r under Dr Loh...;-)

Hi All,

I just did my IVF last dec thru Dr SF Loh. I am now in my 20weeks, going to due in Sep. I can say his skills are good. As he did a hysteroscopy on me, now I can hardly see the scar. Overheard the nurses say when he did the operations on patient the opening is always very fine and small.

But then again depends on individual choice.

I was under Dr Loh and my 2 1/2 year old twins are the results of his skills. Even my sister was with him and she has twins too.
My third girl is naturally conceive and I went back to him as my gynae.
He is a man of few words so must arm yourself with questions otherwise you will find that the session with him is very fast. Was with him at KKH though. Now that he has his own clinic, not sure about the waiting time.
 
2x IVF with Dr SF Loh (1x KKH + 1x TMC) both successful. Waiting time ~1hr, cos of lots patients. I totally agree with Sophia(buttonsjackr) Dr Loh is a man of few words, so get ready with yr questions & ask away. GoodLuck

What is the cost to do IVF in TMC? Did you do fresh or FET in TMC?

care to share?

How are the support given after tested BFP? Is the support same like in KK? Cos I understand Care gives very intensive support unlike in KK.
 
I did mine with Dr Loh at TFC. Few months back. He's really v experienced gynae. You can trust on him. He's well known for his magic hands.

I was with Dr Loh while in KKH previously. Now, for my next embryo transfer, I am thinking of going to him at TMC. But my embies are in KKH. Anyone has done this transfer before?
 
suteranggun, u can transfer the embryo from kkh to tmc. This transfer will be done when Dr loh confirmed when is the date to do ET for u. The nurse at TMC will advise u on the process also.

thanks for the info. do you know if there are any additional costs involved to transfer from KKH to TMC. i've paid for the storage fee in KKH until Sep 2013. Spoke ytd to Sandra, Dr Loh's nurse, that I need to do paperworks in KKH to have my embryo transferred to TMC. i'm not very sure on the procedure.
 
Hi can anyone share IVF experience with Dr. Tan Heng Hao from KKH?
I am considering him or Dr SF Loh for my IVF.
 
Suteranggun, cannot really remember in detailed the cost. Just can remembered if u ask KKH to transfer to TMC, they charge a fee for transporting the embryo. However, if u transport the embryo yourself to TMC, you need to put a chq deposit since KKH lend u the tank to store and transport the embryo. KKH will return u the chq once u return them the tank.
 
hmm...safe or not up to u. that time i slowly pull the tank from kkivf lab to car. my husband drive slowly from kkh to TFC while i hold on the tank make sure no fall. The guys at kkivf will advise how to hold and pull the tank.
 
Did know that we have the option to transport the embryos ourselves from KKH. SF advised to transport all over to TFC as not all the embryos will make it so it might be double work.

Dear all, this my first time in this forum and signing up as member. I'm 38 this year and was trying very hard to conceive for the past 2 years. Late marriage at the age of 36. My DH and I have decided to try IVF. Currently, we are contemplating to go for the government one at KKH or the private. My gyne had recommended me to Dr SH Loh. Any suggestion?

People go to government due to the cost and subsidy are more compare to private. Government appointment is quite hard to get, private is easier. Dr Loh used to be at KK but now he is at TFC. He is well kwn and ppl call him the magic hand. It all depend how comfortable you are with the doc. Hope it help

Pros, like the girls mentioned in ivf/icsi forum. At this age is better not to wait, the older we are the chances of BFP become lower. So start now ASAP bf u reach 40years

Asiafighter: I've scheduled to see DR SF Loh next Tuesday and hopefully everything goes out well as was told not everyone is qualify for IVF as it depends not only on me but my dear DH as well... Though have yet into the process, I'm getting tense up.

Good fr u. Remember to list dwn all the query u want to ask him. If your DH solider no good likely dr Loh will suggest ICSI in this case. Try to relax ESP when u start this journey.
 
Anyone here knows total cost of ivf with dr loh sf at tmc? Cos I think he told me its about $12000. And then can deduct medisave ? So final cost is $6000 is that right ? I want to get $ ready or see if its financially too burdensome. before seeing dr loh again to commit myself.

If I use my medisave to deduct for ivf 3 times , then can I deduct from my husband's medisave for the next 3 times of so iui ？ pls help. Thanks.
 
Sorry to ask so many qns. Does the 12 to 15 k include any hospital bills eg operation room or anaesthetic dr fees?
 
Pauline : I m currently 24 weeks pregnant from the magical hands of Dr Loh. Please be aware that you will need to pay everything in cash upfront and medisave will rebate you later after the procedure. Not sure if it's the same for others but I had to pay cash upfront.

Like what positive says it's around that price depending on your dosage.

Was that the first try? How long is the entire cycle? From first injection to pregnancy ?
 
Dr loh removed 5 fibroids for me last yr. he's ok. I have 2 friends ( sisters ) - both have twins by dr loh.

I'm just worried about the $ cos I think I only have enough for 1 try - ivf.
 
Dr loh was not very clear when he tried to explain long n short cycle to me - anyone knows if I should do long or short cycle ( husband has low sperm count , motility. Etc
 


yes it was my first try n i hv no frozen as well... i think its very fast from 2nd day of period till 13 day when i did ET. within a month i think the whole waiting + procedure.

yeah the cost is high but as the waiting time in public hospital is so long n i was 36 when i did ivf, so dont want to wait anymore...

but maybe u can speak with ur hubby see how?
