How was the surgery extraction? Did your husband experience any pain or discomfort during his recovery process? My husband also has azoospermia and he will be going for his surgery this coming Thurday.

If they do manage to find sperms, we will then proceed with IVF.

Hi pammm. He's taking it very well no pain just some discomfort. Went back to work in 3 days time. Shouldn't be a big problem to retrieve sperms dun worry. All the best and Gd luck

@Dreamscometrue where did u do the transfer? I transferred 2, now left only 2 others, which I don't know their current status (the embryologist said I can know this when I do my BT... they had to observe some more first b4 freezing ) . BT on 21 Sept. nice to find someone with around same time of transfer!

I'm with nuh I only have 3 embbies, tf one on D4 and the embryologist very brave to grow the other 2 to blast before freezing them. Luckily they survived to D5 if not I'll heart ache.
U transferred 2 blasts right? Then the other 2 should be in blast state already ah

I believe the sperms will get to freeze first while u embark on ur cycle? Hv u done all the necessary blood work?

U hafta go thru the egg stimulation stage first i.e all the jabbing and scans to monitor the follicle growth which takes abt 10-14 days. Once ready to trigger then u will go thru retrieval. Yes under GA. Transfer can take place day 2 or 3 and even day 5 if u go to blast.

@Dreamscometrue I did the blastocyst transfer on 07Sept, so if never count wrongly, means spotting was on 5 days post (ET day is day 0) ? I didn't go kkh a&e leh.. just observe first. so far, just 1 time spot only. I had 1 major cramping on 3 days post, cramp until both thighs also, but lasted only 1.5 hrs, unlike the normal cramps. now having some very tight twinging sensation on and off.

it's my first time so not sure what to expect. have 1 more week left before BT, trying to stay sane!

Pretty sure its implantation bleeding. Positive!

I was on crinone gel x1 per day for 3 days after OR. After ET, got to see my own dr (as he was away during my OR period ) and asked for higher dose of support as I was having some cramps. So he gave me crinone gel 2x a day. And on the next day after seeing my dr, the first spotting started! So I immediately called the clinic, then he started me on oil based progesterone jab daily on top of the 2x crinone gel.
Unfortunately on Friday, spotting again, called clinic on Saturday, but the dr says I'm already on high dose support, so he cannot increase anymore.. So now I'm still on crinone gel x2 and the jab x1 per day.

Actually this is my 2nd fresh.. i failed 1st fresh (chemical pregnancy) + 2fet (bfn) before.. my 1st fresh encountered the same, full flow (last for 5days) on the same date 11dp2dt, that time i requested early bt on 12dp, hcg came out 22, then they asked me to come back on 15dp, hcg 43.. 20dp hcg 294, i saw thh this date, he scanned and said nth inside... on the same date 20dp, my menses came again and last for 5days! I think that was actual menses.. thh dignosed chemical pregnancy and after the day, my hcg dropped. .. but that time i stopped the insert on 11dp...
Ok. I think i will cont the insert in case i still have any hope...

I'm returning back to aus in October for a laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, biopsy and scratch - fertility doc basically wants to check all parts of uterus due to previous failed cycles which I'm quite happy with actually. I'd rather over test than not.

Anyway, I have 2 frozen PGD tested embryos in the freezer but not sure if I want to use them or go one more round of fresh Ivf, while I can still stomach it. Thoughts?

I think a blood test is the only way to confirm. Perhaps Pop to the doc in the morning?

@HLing By the way, first round I think they doped me more, hence hubby said I return to ward abt 2 hrs plus later, and I didn't feel any pain so did not take any painkillers, slept alot and did not feel hungry,
2nd round, I returned to ward 1 hr plus later and I felt abit more pain so took pain killers at the recovery ward, did not sleep as much and feel hungry very soon after..

Ya shouldn't be from ur previous chemical preg. Maybe go do a blood test?
You said u BFP 2x? And one got spotting? The recent chemical preg is with or without spotting?

Have to tell your boss that you're doing ivf? And hope ur boss will be good enough to let U go for all the appointments
I guess it comes to a point where work or performance is secondary already

Definitely use the pgd embryos. They are chromosome normal and should be good. Yes good to clean up the womb so that we know we have eliminated one problem. All the best

It could be you are preg which is possible after mc. If not it could be residue of your hcg. Best to check with your own gynae.

The doctor who will be performing the surgery is Dr David Terrance from the Urology Centre. Dr Stephan Chew is our IVF specialist.

He will be doing TESE. I don't think you have to worry because it is a very minor surgery. Have they scheduled the surgery for your hubby?

When I was in 2ww, just few days b4 BT, I got spotting. I was so worried, so went straight to kkh a&e w my hubby. Was kept under monitoring for abt half an hour or so, doctor then came in. Dr asked me try to go toilet to do urine test. I was lucky that the result came out positive w a v v faint line.
Just to share. Along the pregnancy road was not easy for me, maybe due to my age bah. V often had spotting and even once got admitted n has sign of v early labour at 28 week. Dr gave me one mth of HL to rest at home.
Finally, I gave birth in June. Now my precious lo is on my hand.
What I'm trying to say is, go see Dr early. Don't wait for things to happen. I rather being treated kiasi than I regret later. May Baby luck w u aways. Jia you. Not easy path but definitely worth it.

You had ohss? That happens when ur over stimulated. U gone thru stimulation alrdy? I had pcos. My work is quite flexible so ya, able to go all the scans and visits fortunately.

Share with u my experience. I also bfp naturally after my failed fresh cycle. I went to the hosp to do bt... 700 plus. Super shock but happy. Few days later I felt something wrong and I knew I lost it already. Turn out to be chem preg.

Ur most probably pregnant. I hope this time is viable but up to u if u wanna go for bt. For me I know is impossible to prevent chem preg if is not meant to be. I rather just wait to week 7... go private gynae for hb scan.

My blood work shows that I have OHSS. I haven't started on stimulative drugs for IVF as my hubby has to undergo the surgery first. OHSS could have risen because during the period of Nov'14 to Apr'15, I was on Clomid.

Yea me too, was on clomid for 3 cycles then further tests revealed tat my hubby had azoospermia. So dr chew hafta be more accurate in his doses in order not to activate your ohss? I got ohss in my recent fresh cycle and it was terrible!

Sometimes no choice is to take MC/HL/own leaves, if ur boss is big mouth type then better find some reasonable excuses like women prob, tooth, leg, stomach prob... I aso run out of excuses so may repeat again lol... It may affect work performance as sometimes colleagues may talk behind our back however we have more impt prob to fix which is our health issues, ask a Gd colleague to backup u or work from home...time management is a key. Jus some opinion...

That sounds terrible! I haven't experienced any symptom though from OHSS though.

I aso run out of excuses so may repeat again lol... It may affect work performance as sometimes colleagues may talk behind our back however we have more impt prob to fix which is our health issues, ask a Gd colleague to backup u or work from home...time management is a key. Jus some opinion...

Hi dear, am sorry to hear abt the chem pregnancy. I really think all the more you shd continue your inserts. Perhaps the last round ur support was not enough. Moreover, u mentioned you have stopped the insert since 11dp? Do poas tmr, if it's positive, u can ask for more support. All the best!

Last month bfp was without spotting. For this month bfp I spotted on 3/9, only a few drops but I din think too much coz did long distance running the day before.

Am with kkh and on crinone gel support too. Was asked to use the gel on the day of my transfer. I'm asked to insert twice a day, morn and night. Quite surprised abt this as I always read that kkh has minimal support.
Btw, do u experience any menses cramps while on the gel? I had heavy menses like cramps on 3dp2dt. Makes me feel like AF is reporting anytime but I have to remind myself that its only 3dp2dt so too early for menses to show up... Later on, I Google that crinone gel can cause cramping.

Grading of embryo is given by how it looks like superficially I feel and Shd not decide the success wholesale. I trsf 2 grade 5 embryos at d3. Dun worry so much, your womb will be the best place for the embryos to grow. Have faith. When's ur bt?

Using 12dp 1st urine to test but negative. Still cont the insert, later will call kk..

So after all the jabbing of stimulative drugs, we prepare for ER. How many days later do we come back again for the transplant? Will this procedure also be under GA?

Just had the first jab of Puregon yesterday, and today is the second. My hands always shake when I am jabbing myself.

Anyway, I found something strange. During the counselling, the nurse told us that we would be asked to come back for review every 2 - 3 days. But when I went for my first scan yesterday, they fixed the return date as Friday, which would effectively be the 6th day after I start jabbing myself. How come ah?

And then, they initially said that the MC was going to be 2 weeks but during yesterday's consultation, they told me it's 17 days after extraction. The information does not seem to be very accurate...hard to plan for leave :s

Think telling ur mom is good... sometimes have u need the additional emotional support. With all the injections, our hormones also become haywire... so mom support is advisesable. However, if ur mom is the type that stress yout instead, then better not.. hehe.
