hi wen,
will definitely update if there if i have good news

hi thistle
does it mean i was doing SO-IUI? i thought i was on IUI only as mentioned by my gynae.

i took clomid from day 2 - day 6, then took an injection on day 15 and did my IUI on day 17 and took another injection straight after the IUI.

Then was given the progynova and dydrogestrone to take.

The IUI costs about $500 for my case. But in total i think I have spent over 2K on all the consultations, lab tests and ultrasounds and medicines.

IUI process involves putting the sperms into uterus during ovulation and let fertilisation takes place naturally.

SO i.e. super ovulation is an additional procedure to bring about ovulation. It is for those who can't ovulate regularly.

I think for IVF, fertilisation takes place outside the body before transferring it back into the womb.

Whether IUI or SO-IUI is per gynae's recommendation. Anyway I intend to claim mine through CPF coz I know I'm not going for IVF if my SO-IUI fail.

Do you gals inject yourself or go back to hospital? I find it very troublesome to make the trips there just for injection so I intend to do it myself. But I'm quite afraid of needles...apart from getting hubby to do it for me, any tips on how to get over the fear when self-injecting?

when you mean inject, where do you inject? IUI seems to be like artificial insemination where you use a needless syringe and female tube/cabete(not sure spelling) to "inject" through the vaginal right? Is that the same for SO-IUI?

noscon, it's per what i understand from brochures and internet so hopefully it's not too inaccurate.

when i say "inject", i meant to inject med under skin of stomach with a syringe to induce ovulation. then when egg is "ripe" will do the procedure you mentioned i.e. IUI.

Hi ladies, I have a brand new and sealed full pack of Cyclogest Progesterone Pessary (worth $55) to be given away. Let me know if this is the drug that your doctor prescribed after your transfer to support your pregnancy. Bought extras and would like to pass the good luck to some one else (I'm pregnant with a baby girl and delivered last month). Expiry in end 2008.

hi gillian,
my hubby's colleague intro him to us.

My total bill from the beginning of the consultation to the IUI is slightly more than 2K.

The IUI procedure is pretty simple. On the actual day, your hubby needs to bring his sample 2 hours before the procedure to wash the sperm. Then the sperm are being introduced into you through a long stick like kind of apparatus.

This is my 2nd week....must pray hard that my AF don't come end of this week.
