How is Lawrence Ang of Sun Plaza?

My sis and friends strongly recommend him and after meeting him the first time, quite fatherly and pleasant.

Seems like he is quite famous ...

he is a gd gynae and he predicted my son's birth v accurately. can consider him. But must be prepared for long waiting time.

He is a good gynae. yes. you need to have a long waiting time, and the visit is very short and sweet. And may seem a bit rush. But if you ask questions, he will answer.
So depend on wat you want. He is a type of gynae that you can trust on and his skill is very good.

i find that he's a good gynae, but long waiting time and short consultation time. He's good for normal or those smooth pregnancy.

Komathi P > He is very fatherly ... very pro, in the sense he speak super fast and everything is "chop chop", just a voice recorder.

Like what most mother / future mother-to-be had said, short consultation time. I still remember, when the previous couple open the door to exit after the consulatation, Dr Ang immediately shouted for your name to go in, ha ha ha. Absolutely no time is wasted, after our turn, he set off to TMC immediately to visit his patients, he told us.

To be frank, i asked around and Lawrence Ang charges are not ex actually. If you take the package which is $550 after u are confirmed preganant after the 3 month period, i guess (to be consider stable). It is very worthwhile because u don't have to worry abt incurring extra charges.

Then i keep asking, when to take up the package, the nurse say they will advise u accordingly when the time is ripe BUT wouldn't exceed the $550, don't worry.

The first consulatation fee is around $160 and my wife is going back in 2 week time.

It will ask you to pay the package after the first trimster. All the money you paid now will be offset to the package. so dun worry.

Yes. He is a rush type and will tell you what you need to know. But his skill is good.

Nice guy.
Long waiting time.
Short consultation duration.
He will answer all your questions.

Not suitable for fussy mother.

Lin > Whahahahahahahahahahahaha .... u are so attentive!
Yes, indeed, i am.
You too?

limbox > Yeah loh, everything happened so fast and he is the most rush type of doctor i ever seen.

Haha. got good and bad. if he does not rush, then your waiting time will be long. Most important, his skill is good.

garfield,
Glad to see u here.. whahahaaa...
oh yes, my gynae is not Lawrence, however one of my frens is seeing him now = )

he's good! fatherly. but very chopchop. but very good! delivered my #1.

He delivered my first born. He is super pro natural gynae, he don't encourage epidural during birth. He told me 80% of his patient delivered w/o epidural, anyone can do it.

Win > What is epidural?

Lin > Ha ha ha, so nice to see u here. U must take good care & see u around.
My wife just went to see Dr Ang and is going back again this Fri. Can see it growing but this Fri check for heart-beat.

All > So happy to see so many positive feedbacks here.

but have to know that usually he delivers on tues/thurs...
he usually dont wait for natural like waterbag burst etc...
mine #1 was delivered on tuesday and he burst my waterbag.

but overall i still find him a good gynae, very experience...during the last check my son umbilical cord didnt tangle his neck, but when delivery, dr ang based on his experience he think how come i push so long still cant come out, so he wasted no time and vacuum him out...my son was purple when he was out..

and yes, he encourage no epidural...80% of his patients go w/o epi...

Hihi,

I just tested positive and wished to visit Lawrence Ang for my first consulation. Can anyone share with me the opening hours for his clinic at sun plaza?

pat tong > I heard there are side effects to epidural.

mercsboy > Hmm, all these are based on his experiences. In most cases, he need to be swift and think fast too.

Vivian Lin > U wanna call 67535228 to find out more?

my two child also deliver by Dr.Ang, he consultation is very very fast haha , when my first baby i really don't like him. until i give birth i saw he professional, so i continued my second baby also look for him...
he is a very good gynee.
but he clinic have one auntie stuff always scold people.. luckly she never scold me before ^_^

hi mummies, can i check, for the $550 package. It consists of consulations and vitamins? Roughly how many times will we see him through out the 40weeks?

it consists of consult n vit but not fish oil. N the package price starts from the very first day when u know u preg n visit him. i saw him 6 weeks to 38 weeks..abt once every 4 weeks..in beginning n twds the end abt once every 2 weeks..anyone compare his actual delivery fees w other drs bfore?

my 2 lovelies "delivered" by him

one arrived in the wee morning around 4am, guess what i saw in the delivery ward ? a fishmonger !! he wore a bermudas shorts and boot-like shoes ( cant see clearly from my angle :p he looked very casual, but i felt very relax and secure every time i see him

highly recommended !!! 5 stars

just found out that i'm pregnant.. will go back to him again.. he is indeed a pro.. fast delivery skills.. what can i say.. GOOD! i give him 9.9 star.. 0.1 is the waiting time.. lol..

ya. just delivered my DD by him in feb 2010.Good doc.he burst my waterbag too.Tried hard to follow my birth plan but can't cos we waited too long for the rest of the things to happen after hindwaters burst and is about to reach the end of the window period before infection occur. very caring and fatherly pro-family doctor. Still in the delivery suite, few minutes after baby come out, he asked me "so when 2nd one?" i almost fainted! i dun find the waiting time long, maybe cos the first 2 trimesters i was with SGH. Waited more than 2 hours every visit.his is nothing. He is good, save monmey by giving very sound sincere advice. He ask me to stay in 4 bedded for observation cos only going to last few hours to a day den will be transferred to Delivery suite so dun waste money using a 2 or 1 bedded for waiting. his hands are very fast and he's very experiences else my girl might not be around today. she flew out when he snipped episiotomy, into his arms during which he unwinded 3 rounds of umblical cord off her neck. My hubby told me. I delivered with forceps, used only to turn the position of the head, but w/o epidural. i remember during visits, i hear that everyday he's got delivery in some clinic. I delivered 5 days before CNY and i saw his schedule when I went for my last followup before and after my delivery - even CNY he did not get to enjoy, in fact he's even got a few on some days! I think he's a very noble doctor and have a very blessed pair of hands and i'm glad DD was delivered by him. i found him through online search engine and read everything there is to say about him, good and bad and found that there's nothing really bad about him other than the inevitable "long" waiting time due to his "pasir ris to woodlands" Queue. we all understand now why everyone loves him so that cant be helped.Very at ease with him.I enjoyed my experience

have just decided on a #2, in 2 yr's time and will go back to him.

<font color="aa00aa">my #2 was delivered by Dr Lawrence Ang. The main reason i choosed him coz of he's pro VBAC (Vaginal birth after c-sec). Not many spore gynae is proVBAC type.
He's a good gynae to me, but might not be a good gynae for fussy mummy.
There's few times i called him early in the morning when he's still at home and he's patient to answer my query.
Bad point is the waiting time only. But normally i'll try to go during weekday, wait time will be shorter.</font>

WOW wow wow, so gald to hear so many positive feedback!
I am along with the others, he is really a very kind, professional and "swift" doctor.

UP up for Dr Ang!

agree with all mummies above. For first time mom, you might feel he's always too rush to explain everything to you. You have to prepare all the issues you want to consult him. Initially, I felt abit uncomfortable with his "rush" style, but his skill is Very Good. I went through c-sec by him last year. When I started to feel some movements, I thought it's the begininig of the operation, but my baby was out already.

cons: long waiting time, even discharge.

UP for Dr Ang great service ... really like him now and used to his so-called "rush" style!
*Cheers, Dr Ang*

Went for scanning today and it's a boy ...

All my childen are delivered by Dr Ang, with the last one just 2 mths back. He is indeed a very nice and pro doctor. Yes, do agree his rate is attractive, but it is his skills and his soothing attitude that makes you feel at ease. and yes,his clinic is a bit cramp and consultation time is very fast. But he gives you all the information you need, regardless of what time in the day. Even at the delivery suite, he dont make you feel nervous.
And yes, he is very accurate in predicting the time of delivery. All my 3 babies is right on the spot. He will advise what time you should check into the hosp so that you dont spend too long in the observation ward/delivery suite. This not only helps to ease the anxiety moment, but also helps to save $$ as the longer you stay in the delivery suite, the more exp will be your hosp bill.

Hi! Anyone could share their Nature Deliver by Dr. Lawrence Ang? Thks!

nat delivery w epi => superfast, since on epi liao no drama rama...juz get it over n done with. i think within 15 - 20 min,the most i give it 1/2 h, everything is completed. including sewing up. im ok w him using vacuum...makes its easier for bb come out n reduce risk of complications. my healing process was pretty fast also. mayb depends on individual.

early in the morng if u can wake up, he does see patients at the novena area where thomson women's main clinic is...can call to chk w nurse.

JY,

He do consultation in Thomson Medical too, it's best tat u call to make appt first... he'll be there on Saturday mornings.. not sure bout weekdays.

I will suggest tat u visit him at his Sun Plaza clinic, cos the scanner's printer can print better image if ur every scan, as I visited him at his "shared office" at TMC (the room is shared by several doctors) the print out was terrible.

Dr Ang is so sweet ... offer to scan a "3D" image for my baby but the positioning of my baby does not permit so he did not manage to scan.

Hi all, im a 1st time mummy, am entering my 3rd trimester. Iv been with Dr Lawrence Ang since my 8th week. He has been really sweet and very comforting though at times u mite feel he is so rushy. Would advice mummies n daddies to prepare a list of any questions u mite hav for each visit to ask him. he will gladly ans. If not he will chop chop do the scan, update u on bb's growth n gv u next appt. But on the other hand, sometimes wen there's nt many people waiting outside, he will actually chit chat with u for some time

Overall, NO complaints n NO regrets!

Dym Koh > His package is definitely one of the best in town!
$550, hard to find yet the most experienced and professional.

tk > I afraid he is stationed at Thomson Medical, maybe u call his clinic and confirm?

Dr Ang delivers at Mt A as well. Overall comments same as most moms. Fast, decisive and really not for fussy moms. I didn't know abt his delivery schdedule for Tuesday and Thursday though as he kept asking me to enjoy and relax and told me what to do when my waterbag burst. It seemed as if he knew I would deliver earlier and anytime! He delivered my 1st kid, yes, with no epi, and I'm going to him for my 2nd one.

Hi Ladies, can anyone pls cfm if the phone no for the clinic is 67535228?

I called a few times today but no one picked up the phone...
