Which is a good and reliable gynae that I can go in Singapore?

i prefer private practice.

please advise!

thanks!

ya i agree. very friendly and good gynae. Had my 2 consultations with him for past 2 pregnancies. After 7 yrs later I still go back to him for my 3rd pregnancy check up.

i just delivered my baby gal and i go to dr poon king fu fr mount a, his clinic is at lor ah soo too.
i respect him even more after my labour.....he is calm and he not in a hurry to get u out during consultations.....even when if i called him after clinic hours he was always patient and concern.

I got my 1st baby delivered from Raffles with Dr Jazlan.
hubby quite comfortable with him also , and also can do walk in if you are not so well.

I was deciding between Benjamin Tham and Lawrence Ang and decide to give Lawrence Ang a try as it is near my place. Reviews for these 2 doctors are good so i had a hard time deciding....

I strongly recommend Dr Paul Tseng from TMC if you want a natural birth. A fatherly gynae. Charges are within the normal range. And, you can choose to give birth in tmc or mt a.

Dr Benjamin Tham also into natural delivery but he prefers to be at TMC. Some gynaes rush into csect to fit into their schedule

I would recommend dr Tham. I have been to both and dr Ang is those chop chop one. I waited for once 2hrs with appt to see him and go in less then 5 mins come out Liao. With consultation and scan. And one thing I don't like about him is, his leh always keep shaking.. Like rushing for time like that.. I feel like he nv concentrate and listen to my qns with his legs shaking non stop..

While dr Tham, waiting is a lot faster then dr Ang. And he will spend ample time to do scan and not so fast that u can't even see where is bb and the scan finish Liao. Dr Tham is more assuring friendly and I feel more secure with him.

As for money wise, if u r budget den u go for dr Ang cuz his package start from 1st visit. But only 12 weeks den can sign up, but he previous time u go can off set the package money. Unlimited I thk. Package includes, consultation, scan, multivits, urine test starting in 2nd tri.

Dr Tham package start at 12weeks $650 before gst. 11 visits, is more then enough for uncomplicated pregnancy. Package include, consultation, scan, urine test, bp. Multivits and other medication if needed will have to pay separately..

I would say if urs is uncomplicated and budget den go for dr Ang. But if u can afford slight more and even complicated or uncomplicated, dr Tham is a good choice. Nv regretted my choice. Only regret I nb choose dr Tham for my first pregnancy, which later I lost in 2nd tri. I feel his patients too many le and e can't even recall who I am and when I went in for post natal review he talked to me about the maternity hospital package which I totally stunt..

With dr tham if similar things were to happen with him, he won't be like that. He knows and I know he is really sorry when he mean it.

I also vouched for Dr Ben Tham, I followed him from KKH to TMC for my first born and delivered in TMC via planned c sect by him. My 2nd pregnancy was an IVF baby which I succeeded in SGH, I went back to Dr Tham for consultation but at detailed screening my baby was found to be small for his gestation and Dr Tham has helped me a lot to gather help and info from KKH. After we decided to go ahead with the abortion, he has never question our decision. He personally oversaw my procedure even though i was told he does not do abortion. He is always sincere and caring in his approach. I am 6 weeks into my 3rd pregnancy, after my detailed scan, I will return to Dr Tham if everything goes well...

His wait at TMC could be quite long especially weekends...

I believe you are referring to Dr Ang for this description?

Friend who is a doctor recommended Dr. Choo Wan Ling. But not too sure about her charges...
Hi I visited dr choo when I was 6th weeks.1st pregnancy. Very friendly doc though she didnt really ask me of my previous medical condition. Which usually they would? Recommended by my sister. She has reputation for good stiches. Comfortable with her. Abit ex I feel. My first visit was 259 incld 1 medicine. Waiting time not very long. 2nd visit is next sat.

Personally I have nv been to female Gyane but have been to female gp. They do Pap smear so pain.. But my Gyane do I totally no feel..

Cuz female they have been thru what we been thru and tot it's not that bad and why we have to scream like hell etx... But it depends la.. Sometimes some pple just like female Gyane..

I'm with dr Benjamin tham, he is very gentle funny caring and assuring.. U can book ur appt with him go once and try and see if u like him..

I'm currently ttc and Dr Benjamin Tham is the Gynae which I have been consulting for the past 2 years. He is very friendly and very assuring. I had my pap smear and Vaginal ultrascan with him recently. The pap smear was professionally done and not painful at all. The ultrascan was also not painful, it was done at a decent speed such that I was able to see the things he was scanning. He also laid out the ttc plans he has for me in detail. After the session, he gives us time for Q&A which I really like because sometimes I have so many questions in my mind. He was recommended to me by my best friend who delivered 2 sons with him.

I was trying to hook up an appointment with Benjamin Tham as I would like to see him as my gynae for my first pregnancy. Very sad, he rejected to see me and reject accepting my case, reason being he is full for my EDD in Jan 2015. Really disappointed.

Really? When is your EDD?

Actually think on the good side, he needs to ensure that he has sufficient time for all his patients, otherwise the quality of care for his patient may also suffer. That's being responsible, at least he is not just looking at the $$$. :) Don't worry I am sure you will find a suitable doctor. There are several other reviews around, perhaps you can do more research??

Hi GetawayJunkie,
my EDD is 4 Jan 2015. I am trying to convince myself with that reason of cos, but cannot help feeling disappointed. My next option is Dr. Sim LN but she might be away during Dec 2014 or Jan 2015, so she might not help me deliver. Substitute will be doing it. I am unwilling on this part. Sighs.

I am with Dr Tham actually, but this is the first time I heard that he stopped accepting patients because he is full. My EDD is late Jan - 23 Jan 2015.

Another doctor whom 2 separate friends recommended to me is Dr Lisa Chin at Gleneagles... you might want to consider her? :) I prefer to deliver at TMC than at Gleneagles because accessibility wise is better for me, that's why went for Dr Tham.

My friend recommended Dr Su Lin Lin at NUH - but she won't be seeing any new patients till October... Not sure whether to wait.

Really? I nv heard this rejection before as well..

Maybe u can try your luck again.. Call in and try to book appt with him again.. Haha.. If u haven see him la.. Act like u don't know that he is full.. Cuz sometimes I feel if it's the appt nurse who tell u, it's not accurate..

Unless dr Tham he himself reject u den I got nothing to say...

:(:( how to contact him directly and let him reject me straight in my face rather than the nurse? Cos they are the ones who answer call. how to bypass?

The nurse keep track of his patient ...
Rather than wasting your time to be rejected in the face by the gynae himself spend looking for other gynae .. Your Edd is jan 4 and you shld have gynae that arrange the necessary test for you by now

And FYI most good gynae quota for jan shld be full by now cos they are accepting feb and mar mtb already

I had shortlisted another gynae shortly after. Thanks for your reply.

I am under Dr Tham too. He won't reject 'returned customer' but for new patients, if he already has planned leave during the EDD or too many patients with the same EDD, he won't take in. Cos I think he wants to better manage the appt waiting time as well as handling all the delivery himself instead of passing it to a relief doctor.

I'm in my third pregnancy and seeing Dr Paul Tseng at TLC, Thomson Medical. We went to him for my second. He's pro natural and my husband is full of praises for him. Maybe you can try to see if you can get an appt.
