! Getting bb to sleep

My bb gets cranky when he is tired and he needs to be carried to sleep. I hv tried other methods but it doesnt work. This is not too bad but the challenge is he has a habit of screaming in my arms before he goes down. Most of the time, the screaming doesn't last more than a minute but occasionally, it can go on for 30 mins. He is not really difficult otherwise, but his habit of screaming before sleeping drains me at times since bb take frequent naps, which means I hv to go through this a few times a day.

Do any of you hv similar experiences? Pls share with me and any suggestions? I hv tried bouncer, pram, patting and none works. It almost feels like he wants to sleep but he needs to burn off all his energy before he wld do so.

Ps. He is a very active boy.

I think bb can sense our anxiety. My son was a little like that when he was about a year old and teething.Sometimes it can be hunger or nappy discomfort.

Important thing is not to PANIC as a parent and dash about trying all sorts of things.

I simply pretended I can't hear his cries and continue rocking the bb slowly and sometimes talking/humming a tune to him. My son also the sort to need to discharge all energy (battery) before he zzz

I find having a radio turned on softly in the background helps somewhat. There were times things go so bad we brought him for a quick warm shower and he'd drink and sleep promptly after.

Had you tried yaolan, the cradle? My son is like that too and is fussy before falling asleep. We bought the automatic cradle that rocks him to sleep and he likes, fuss a little, pop in a pacifier when he fusses longer and he sleeps very well at night.

Hi mumusings and yiling, thanks for sharing. I tried bouncing him for 15-20 mins before putting him to sleep and he seems calmer now.. Not sure if this wld continue to work. I just hope it is a passing phase, the fussing before sleep.. How old are your children before they learned to sleep better?

my baby also likes to be carried and pat to sleep... the harder we pat, the quieter she is... is there a better solution? night "pats" that are long and tiring can kill!
