Hihi all mommies,

I'm expecting my first child now currently 14 weeks...gynae say EDD early august...but based on my friends and colleagues experiences they say actual delivery shld be july...

My gynae also advised that can be as early as mid july...I am a little confused as my new BTO flat is also ready by aug-sep and my company office is shifting as well ard the same period.

Any ideas if i shld expect baby to arrive in july instead? Thanks

My first child was born 1 week earlier than EDD and consider as term which was what my doc said it could happen to many mummies for the first time. However, it varies according to individual. My sil just gave birth 1 week later than EDD for the first time. Think it’s difficult to guess the actual date unless you go for scheduled caesarean.

Yupz true what ILuv7 said. It's hard to confirm it. Gynae also just estimate what they are taught. You can try the pregnancy apps too, it's not accurate. And nothing accurate on giving birth.

I gave birth 3days before EDD, my friend gave birth 1week after EDD, another gave birth 3weeks before EDD.

It depend dear, just be prepared early..

Deliver 3 weeks before EDD? Is this a special case? Or normal contractions?

Normal birth, just the baby want to see the world early, the baby is healthy too.

Sometimes also we calculate wrongly on our last menses. Some woman menses are not stable, some every month, some 2-3 months. As long baby born healthy :)

Those old2 people said, the more you walk and squat as in exercise, the faster the opening and easy baby to be born. If you lazy2, of course opening a bit slow. (this one I don't know whether correct or wrong).

I see, thanks for your info. But according to my gynae measurement done during 12 weeks is the most accurate one. So I am not sure whether there will be changes for me. Think I keep my fingers crossed.

Hope everything fine for you :)

my 1st born (boy) was exactly 1 week before EDD AT Week 39. i had contractions from 6am which i monitored through the day and only admitted to hospital at 2am the next morning (when contractions were 5mins apart) .. i just gave birth to my daughter and she is on time. i was admitted at Week 40, on the EDD itself and delivered at 1am. this time round i woke up 6am and had bleeding through the day with lower abdominal pain. i only admitted to hospital at 10pm when i felt backache (a sign of contractions) on top of the front abdominal pain. Its really hard to predict when your baby will choose to come into this world but it is always said that boys would be early & girls on time or late. Both times true for my deliveries but take it with a pinch of salt. Gynae will perform detail scan at 5th month & the EDD might differs a bit (2 days difference for my case) but somehow still accurate. You really can trust them to do their job.

i was also shifting office and what i did was pack in advance & asked gynae for 2 weeks of hospital leave so i could rest at home & dont have to waste my 16 weeks maternity ..
