Got this for both my kids when they turned 6 months and introduced solids. I mostly add a small amount to the nightly milk feeds. (You need to add water and bring to a boil first before using.) The grounded powder consist of different grains such as brown rice, barley etc. Supposedly help to boost respiratory system and improve appetite.

And I usu buy from EYS due to their reputation.

@geraldine - both my kids including my 3 nephews who used to take this turned out chubby and appetite very good. Not sure if it's due to the supplement though.
I usually put small amount to fill my kids up during the last night feed so they dun wake up for wee hours feeding.

my aunty recently gave her grandson (3yr old) the powder only, no brown rice one ...for abt 1 week ..

said his appetite grow and can eat more now...

@wobblejelly @ling

So it is likely to increase their appetite as a result most babies would eat more and grow chubby :D Hhaha that's nice!

And i think by then if my baby able to consume semi solid food, i should introduce water to them right? When is the right time to introduce this to our baby?

Geraline sung, i find FM more heaty, n our weather nowadays so crazy.. so shd b give bb some water to drink in between ...

help to train bb to accept plain water also ...

Ya i totally agreed with you! I think it is good to introduce water slowly to them..

Looks like i have to do some online shopping today. Hopefully with the Great Singapore Sale, i get more discount:D

Hi,

I have also bought this for my boys. Just to check, can we mix the powder and the milk together and feed out babies using milk bottles? Will the liquid be too thick to pass through the teats?

Thanks.

this brown rice powder have to be made with very hot water, cos its contains brown rice powder, best is cook it. thats what the lady told me, when I ask can just add to milk formula or not.

Mummies who are familiar with Si Sen Powder, can advise:

I bought Si Sen powder from a reputable child TCM clinic (Yu Guo at Kembangan)and was told to boil and cook it cos its raw. BUT the Si Sen powder i used from EYS, was told jus add to porridge or warm water. I went EYS store to ask if their Si Sen powder was 'cooked' already hence no need to boil, the lady says there is no such thing as raw/cooked. I am so puzzled and wonder if all long i been using Si Sen the wrong way? Surprisingly, after i bring to boil and cook the si sen from TCM clinic, my baby grew a little flesh. I am quite confused on consuming Si sen the right way.

Pls enlighten me

Hi
Tried gooking today and once i bring to boil, it turn into jelly and so I add water till it become paste again. As I find it too dry, I add some warm water but it became clustered.
Did anyone one of you encounter such a thing? My steps to cook the powder are:
1) pour cold boiled water and stire
2) add warm water into the pan
3) bring to boil for about 5mins and add water to become paste
4) when feed, add warm water but become cluster.
Btw, my baby is coming to 7mo soon
Appreciate your comments.
Thanks.

Try adding more water and keep stirring as you cook.Once it reaches the consistency that you want, you can turn off fire and serve baby shortly after.

@pandager

cookingmama is right! i think if it turn cluster, either the heat is too strong or too little water.

the end result should be close to puree.

Anybody nice enough to post a picture of the end result so that we can learn from each other:D

The 'si shen' powder is like those 'ba bao san' can be consumer with warm water. The brown rice si shen powder have to be cooked, bcos brown rice even in powder form is hard to be digested. Think of our normal rice, even grain to powder form we also wont just add warmm water to consume.

Thanks all, will try again later. Have you try to leave it in a termal flask n serve later? Wonder if it will still remain as puree a not

Yup, still remains as puree.. My mum tried cooking herself and she added her boiled soup instead of water (when bring to boil), d puree taste so nice! Maybe those of u who have been using water can try to replace with soup.

hey thanks for sharing, I will try that with my puree. Does your 宝贝 eat more than usual because of the change in taste?
