Hi Can anyone provide feedback or review on where it is better to get circumcision done for babies/toddlers?
As well as the price involved and how long it the recovery.
Maybe mummies can share their experiences and how they take care of their child?

Hi.. all my 3 sons had theirs at a private clinic.. my youngest just had his abt 2 weeks back.. recovered within a week ie. e ring has dropped off. My boy is 2mths plus. Easier to take care n no 'pantang' foodwise since he's just on milk. Depending on e age, there should be a few clinics in Singapore performing circumcision. Cost me $183..compared to his brother who had his for $150, 6yrs back..lol

Hope e info helps

thanks for the info.
care to share the clinic name and tel number.
the olderest one was how old when u did it?

As i called kkh they said the child must be toilet trained and not on diapers.

i went to dr zailani at yishun for my boy when he was about 2 weeks old. e ring dropped off by e 5th or 6th day. they gave spirit & panadol

U can call e clinics to check ard on e age limit n what type of circumcision done. The common procedure is e ring type which seldom has complications if u clean n apply e spirit accordingly. I read somewhere abt a new procedure which is somewhat like a plastic patch wrapped ard 'it'. Any particular reason y u r doing it now? Coz normally circumcision would be done when they r babies or slightly older like 6 yrs onwards. Unless, there's a medical need for e circumcision to be done urgently. Think my sil did have it done for her son after 1 or 2 yrs due to some medical problem..

Where is dr zailani's clinic located?

Mummies,
Will the paediatrician at the hospital willing to do the circumcision upon baby's arrival?

hi ocean_blue. it is at yishun. cant rmbr e exact address but if u want i can ask hubby abt it.

hmm dont think e pd will do at birth? idk

Hi

My boy was circumcised at 27th day of his birth last yr by Dr Zailani at Yishun. I think the clinic's name is Country Clinic.

Just to share my experience. 1stly, e asst will clean the part n apply some spirit. Never put anything to numb dat area (I know cos i asked). Then Dr came n just inject the part n blah blah. Ok. Obviously I was shocked. I thought that there shld be some lotion or watever to numb dat area 1st. To cut e story short, my son was crying like nobody's biz frm e moment he was circumcised (4.30pm) til 10+pm. I also cried upon seeing him like dat :'''''((((( The ring dropped off abt 1 wk later. I let him wear loose diapers n try to air it. Apply lotion to it after every change of diapers.

My cousin wrks at Eden Clinic n assists in circumcision. I asked her bout e procedure. She said some med will be applied to numb the part. Both my nephews circumcised at Eden did nt cry at all according to the mums. They were shocked when I told my story.

Whatever it is, pls ask the Dr that u intend to go if they will apply anything to numb the part. Another suggestion, u can go hospital n pay via medisave. Another nephew of mine aged 6yrs went to Mount Alvernia (cos e mum wrks there). No crying, no hassling. Recover within a wk.

Precisely, Ocean_blue!!!!! I shld hv gone to Eden instead

(((( Though my son is nw 1yr old, the horrendous experience is still very fresh in my mind

((((((

Anyway, reg Mt A, I'm nt sure if it's a walk-in or nt. I'll ask my cousin n will get back to u. Pls pm me if u dun hear frm me wihin a wk :p

Dear forum members.
Before I risk putting any of you off, PLEASE DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH BEFORE SUBJECTING YOUR CHILD TO GENITAL MUTILATION.
Now:
I wish to raise an issue that many of you, as mothers and parental guardians, may have to make a decision on. (Though it shouldn’t be a decision, just like not cutting out an eye or removing a toe shouldn’t be a decision).
Forced genital mutilation, sometimes known as circumcision, is a practice that continues to this day in the USA for a variety of reasons including; misinformation, misguidedness, profit, anti-masturbation hysteria.
I, personally, suffered this procedure at around the age of 10 as a ‘treatment’ for issues of bed wetting and possible phimosis. Absolute mal-practice. Bed wetting, and related issues, are common in 5% of the population at that age and decline naturally as the individual matures. Phimosis can easily be treated by stretching. Also, Phimosis is NEVER an issue in immature children, it can only exist in males that have begun puberty.
1. Mutilating your child’s genitals provides NO health benefits.
2. It is extremely damaging psychologically and physically.
3. You wouldn’t mutilate your daughter…
4. It continues as a practice for reasons of greed.
5. At the very least, let your child CHOOSE to get it when he is a consenting adult – if he wants to (which he won’t assuming he has learnt how to use Google)
1. In order to prove 1 requires a very mild understanding of logic. USA = high circumcision and high rates of STIs, Europe = low circumcision and low rates of STIs. That should be fairly simple to understand.
Studies that say otherwise are easily debunked, for example: A study shows less UTI’s in circumcised males. This study is comparing full circumcision to babies whose mothers retract their foreskin. DO NOT RETRACT YOUR BABIES’ FORESKIN. The foreskin is designed to protect the glans (head) of the penis. Your child will retract it when he’s ready (around puberty). Another study shows lower rates of STI’s amongst circumcised populations. This is comparing Islamic states (high religious societal control) with non-Islamic states… go figure.
2. There are a great deal of studies that show how trauma as a baby can impact on your subconscious throughout your entire life.
3. Male and female genital mutilation are equivalent in damage. Why then would you do that to your son? (youtube) /watch?v=98f3IavuEgQ
4. thewellspring (dot) [com]/flex/myth-circumcision-is-neither-harmful-nor-painful/2617/circumcision-who-profits.cfm & norm-uk (dot) [org]/where_do_foreskins_go.html

If you have already circumcised your child, I understand that it could be difficult to face this information. Please do not close up about it, instead – spread the word, and when your child comes of age explain that you did what the doctor advised. Don’t let it ruin your relationship with your child, they WILL have the internet and they WILL know how to use it to find out the truth, better they hear it from you than that they discover it by other means and blame you for it.

While you argue with youtube videos and alot of blogspot websites and private forums and hosted websites.
There is always 2 sides of an argument and there is always myth or facts.
Here is an article featuring a legitimate doctor from Department of Urology, Singapore General Hospital (SGH), a member of the SingHealth group.
You can choose to ignore it if you like..no one is forcing you to believe facts from a credited doctor if you don't want too.
