Hi rejoice, i am with kkivf too. For my case, once my gynae has signed me up for ivf, i have not seen him so far. He also did a blood test for me prior to the start of ivf coz that day was my D4 of menses.
On the same day of my briefing by the kkivf nurse, my gynae also scheduled me to see him that same evening but according to the nurses, it's not necessary to see my gynae coz they said my blood test results are ok to go. The nurse then went thru my blood test results with me on the spot and also did a blood test for my hubby. That evening, i emailed my gynae and he is ok for me to go ahead. However, i personally feel that if your gynae has scheduled you to see him b4 you start ivf, it's better to see him coz you might have questions after the ivf briefing.
As for whether you are required to take contraceptives or not, it depends on your doctor's review on your cycle, blood test, etc. I was not prescribed any contraceptives but i was reminded to practise safe sex (using condoms) when i called kkivf on D1 of my menses.
When you call kkivf on D1 of your menses, they will give you a date and time (your D21) to collect your lucrin and will teach you how to do injections. From then on, kkivf will take over and you won't see your gynae until ER and ET.
The nurses there will consult your gynae on the dosage and duration required for your injections at every stage and will prescribe the correct amount to you accordingly.
Not to worry, at any point in time if you are not sure or have queries, you can call kkivf and the nurses will guide you step by step.
Hope these will help you a bit.
