Hi, Mrs Ha,

I am also having difficulty to go into fb. Cannot find any panel or button that says join?

There is a option to join.. U need to log in to the Facebook to see the join option.. I join after I got mine..

Ala.. As long as the agent can guide.. It's okay..

Wendy... Undecide.. Nice looking baby.. Ur agency is very efficient too..

I clicked on the link Mrs Ha gave and log in... Then I came to the page that ask me to find friends... Cannot see any Join button?

@ala
could u please pm me the email id, with which u log in to fb?

REG family court process:

I too thought, i would see, how the court looks like. But i dint get a chance to go there. I think, its because, its a private adoption affair ( i think as per law, we have found the biological parents of our BB & they have agreed to do it as a private hearing, rather than announcing to the whole world)

1. after u get BB's DP, we go to lawyer office to sign the docs.
2. then the lawyer office, books for a hearing at family court.
3. family court then sends this application to MCYS to check on us. MCYS inturn assigns an officer for this. the officer would call us & come home to visit us & check, how good we are caring for our kiddo
4. MCYS officer then has to submit a report to the court within 2 months of the home visit.
5. Then court informs the lawyer office to book for a hearing.

okkie the rest later. gtg

hi mummies,
which doc did you all bring your child to when they are doing medical checkups before we adopt them?

can also comment if doc is good?

Thanks

my agent and me use SBCC at AMK... when the baby arrive in SG we meet the agent there have the baby check up then we bring the baby home...

Hello Ladies

Just wanted to check...

Is the baby that you are gonna adopt the very first baby in your life, that you are gonna feed (make bottle milk)/ blurp/ change diaper?
Have you ever done these basic stuffs for any kiddy (your cousin's/ bro's/ sis's/friend's) earlier?
Have you going to have any experienced nanny / any family elders (for sure )to be with u 24/7 to train u on these matters when the baby is going be at your house?

IF any of you have answered NO to any of these Questions above, (i confess my answer to all these Questions was a BIG FAT NO/ NEVER), PLease approach any hospital that teaches pre-natal course.

I'm not joking...The last session of the pre-natal class teaches you about holding the baby correctly, changing diaper, making milk, bathing & all other trivial matters.

I did attend the class at Mt. Alvernia Hosp. It was fun. I approached TMC, KKH that taught pre-natal class. When i said i just wanna join the last session, they were all confused & TMC was smart enough to admit me for the class, but fees was around $500+ (2 sessions - i think), BUt the lady at MT. A , was kind enough to understand, & she charged me pro-rated (paid <$100)for 1 session.

Please join the class ASAP, if u are also like me.

Yes... We are totally in the same situation as Mrs Ha... I was so stressed that I may hurt or harm the baby....

So before we started looking for our baby, we equipped ourselves too... We attended the last session at Mt Alvenia as well.. Informative but you need to be in the same room as many expectant mothers... I put on a loose top and pretended to be one in the first trimester! ;)

We also went for the one organised by PA. They have classes all over the island and anyone can join, maids, grandparents, etc. We chose an ulu location and we were the only couple and hence a very good one to one session with the instructor... And it is only 35 per pax. Try to get hubby to go together... We had a fun time together!

Hi ladies, i heard of Project A. Can anyone explain what it is. How to get on their queue list and how to get baby from there? Mummy of Didymus Tan, heard your baby is from there. Can share how.

@[email protected]

Do u use this email id to log in to ur FB account? B'cos I'm not able to find u using ur email id as well.

when u try again, if Fb asks u to find friends, please try searching for [email protected] - that's my id ( add me as ur friend)& we can take it up from there. don't worry. this forum doesn't let any of their buddies down.

Hi friends,

For the bb medical check, u use the pd recommended by the agency or use your own pd?

Anyone use b4 dr william yip from gleneagles for the medical check or Kinderclinic at Mount Avernia

Pls help cos my hubby is keen to use own pd for check but we dun have contacts of pd who are exp in doing checks for bb to be adopted. I understand got a list of standard checks that the pd will do.

Thank you

i think you can request your agent to meet u at your prefer PD place when the baby reach SG... for me i use my agent PD at SBCC till now... as long as full body check up is done by PD is ok de... SG more safe then Malaysia... but for me i got request additional Hep C so must buy abit more... can call you agent and check if can use your prefer PD... Just tell any PD that this baby is adopted so need full check up... they will know what to do...

our agency is ok with using our own pd.

but we would like recommendation of pd so that we can bring the bb there instead of bringing bb to pd recommended by agency.

i just go to any doctor... until now even my meatball is sick i just walk in there.. so far the doctor nv fail me.... SBCC is slightly higher compare to my house PD here (Kid's Clinic) my hubby ask me stick to SBCC cause Kid's Clinic service not good got 1 time my meatball sick they said they full and cannot take in walk in...

Ah.. Thanks, Mrs Ha.... I think I finally manage to get in... But still not very familiar about posting and uploading picture... Let me trial and error when I can find time...

Hey... My boy just flipped yesterday... I thought by chance so I flipped him back and he did it again and gave a sheepish grin each time he did it....I am worried as he just past two months and can only lift his head slightly... I could not sleep last night cos keep jumping out of bed to check if he flipped. Today I really drilled him on tummy time and he is getting used to turning head to one side while on tummy instead of burying face down... Praying hard he will keep safe...

My husband and I are awaiting HSR approval. After that we are planning to look for baby on our own. Going to orphanages etc. Won't be using agency.

Anybody been down this path who can advise? Once we begin, I will update our journey for those who wish to do the same thing as us.

Hello, I'm so happy to see so many support happening in this forum. We have attended the PAB two weeks ago. Have decided to look for baby locally. Still figuring out how to go about working on with it.

Hi, LAtan,

It is good that you and your hubby are discussing and making joint decisions as this is very important throughout the adoption journey and parenthood thereafter.

I remembered asking about this option when I first started out. I think I was told that there are not many orphanages here. Most of the children have been placed into foster homes so as to give them a healthy environment to grow up in. You may check with the centre who is preparing your HSR.

In any case, I wish you and your hubby every success in becoming parents, regardless of how the baby come about... Sometimes, God creates mysteriously wonderful miracles! (*Wink*)

Hi! I've just attended PAB not long ago n is now selecting an agency for hsr. Anyone with SBL before? If I rem correctly, undecided or little girl is with SBL rite? R they ok?

Latan, the video is so entertaining n useful. Shall try it out with my baby niece :p

Hi, just to check whether is it advisable to look around baby adoption agency once we completed our home visit instead of get thing e report?

Lai ling
Most of the adoption agencies would entertain you, only after you had completed / got the HSR approved copy with u. So, please work on that line faster.

@Latan , @cynfvp

I believe there is a long queue for the local babies. As Ala mentioned, kids are placed in foster homes. I too wanted to go for the local babies, but was told, the waiting time could be couple of years.

May be you could try them for local babies

Thanks to all who gave their advice to me. I appreciate you. I actually meant to say that we are looking at overseas orphanages. I don't want to adopt local babies. It will be a real experience for us to go overseas and look at orphanages ourselves. So, hopefully our HSR will be approved soon because I know this process is going to take a while especially if not going through agency.

ala: we are trusting God is every step of the way. I tried to pm you but you don't allow pm. May be you can pm me and we can chat more by email?
