Any mums stay @ sengkang

Samval,
God is in control of the situation. Had prayed for her. She will be in my prayer.

TwinsMummy,
Finally today the plastic surgeon Dr Foo came over to view little Jadon. I was not around when he's here (think I was doing EBM).

Doc Melissa (the senior consultant in Blue team) told me that Dr Foo and ENT Prof Henry Tan will have a meeting discussion with each other and will decide what little Jadon will do. Seemed like they will consider doing either the chin or tracheostomy or both at the same time. They don't want to discharge little Jadon now cos they said it's dangerous from his disaturation of oxygen in the blood. If little Jadon were to do the chin ops, he'll have scars on both side of his jaw area. He's so handsome and cute now. I don't want any more scars on him especially his face......... He have so many scars already.

Please pray for little Jadon. I have been praying hard and I'm not sure what is God's plan for little Jadon.

Pris
Dr Melissa is the doctor assigned to my babies when they were born. She is the one who saved them! She is a very nice and experienced lady. She knows me.You are in good hands.

My boys are also seeing Prof Tan at ENT. Because they are preemies, kkh need to review their hearing. They will be doing a hearing test this mth.

Evans is seeing Plastic surgeon too due to his cleft nose. It was caused by intubation as mentioned in one of my posting earlier. We will arrange for him to do the surgery mid this year.

Of course we heartache to see our precious ones go under the surgery knife again. Think positive... the surgeries are required in order for them to lead a normal life like other babies.

Is it necessary for Jadon to do the Chin Surgery now? Can they wait?

Whats the purpose of doing the trachy? To put the CPAP there?

Hi Samval
Am glad that your bb gal is out and recovering well.
Are you back in Singapore already? So will be going to the clinic? Be careful

Do drop me a sms or email if you need

Hi Joleena,
Ya I came back last night. Tmrw need to go to Dr. Allyson for check up. Btw, you were saying that she's affliated to which hosp? Can't remember. Can you also sms me your handphone number? I dropped my phone and now spoil. Managed to use hubby's spare phone but your phone number was saved in the old phone's memory and not SIM card. My number is 98445988.

Hi Pris,
How is Jadon doing now? Hope that all is well and that he will recover and get out of hosp soon. Can you also sms me your handphone number? My number is 98445988. Also do you know of any consultant in KK that deals with rrespiratory problems for babies? Thinking of bringing my gal there for future treatment if required cos I think those PD in Sengkang are in private practise and "touchwood" if got emergency, better to go KK and also cheaper. Do sms me. Thanks.

TwinsMummy,

In God's will and direction, I don't know why I was walking in KKH Pharmacy and Mothercare later. Shopped for quite a while and came out of Mothercare and happened to chance upon the speech theraphist. I told her about little Jadon condition and progress. She said Josephine her colleague whom I met in SCN is in the Plastic surgeon team. I also remember that Josephine did mentioned they would not want to do the chin ops as yet. I was told there's another Doc Vincent whom do more chin ops than Dr Foo. Normally there are minimum scars on the jaw area and if chin ops will not need tracheostomy. She will let Josephine knows about this case and get back to me next week. Crossing and praying that there will be positive reply from Josephine.

Tracheostomy will help baby survive when in live and death situation as it will bypass the mouth area. So breathing or oxygen will not be a problem even if tongue will to fall back and block the airway.

Lately little Jadon oxygen level ups and downs. Nurse told me it's the positioning of the head or moving his legs. Little Jadon has been actively moving his head and stretching his body so can't prevent it.

Everyday little Jadon w/o fail will have one or two incidents when he crys so hard until turn blue and required oxygen tube to wave at his nose. Really can scared the wits out of me. My heart can almost stopped...... Nurse said maybe I will have to buy a oxygen tank to put at home depending on the doc as well..... Little Jadon even turned blue in front of Doc Melissa when she's just showing him the picture card......

Hi Samval,
Glad that you and bb are back in Singapore. I tried to find out from the doc in the blue team which doc is dealing with respiratory. Let you know again. Will sms you my hp number.

Hi pris,
Seeing that you have the strength is really a gift from God. I pray everyday without fail for you and Jadon. Just got back from church and said a prayer for you. What you are going through is nothing that I've been through, but every mother will feel the same way when their baby is in hosp, regardless of conditions.

Thanks for helping me find out any doc in charge for respiratory problems. Do sms me. God bless!

To all mummies out there,
Thanks for all your prayers. This brings me strength to run the extra mile for little Jadon. I will try to accompany little Jadon no matter how tired and exhausted I am. At the same time have to have sufficient rest so that I will not fall sick.

I would need all your prayers for me. I will undergo Stapled H'Dectomy (piles day surgery) on the 24th Feb at 230pm. I was referred to the Colorectal Doc through my KKH gynae. I was bleeding everyday whenever I pass motion a few weeks ago. There's blood and pain. So a bit afraid to clear my bowels these days.

Total 3piles (1outside, 2inside) will be removed by stapled them together. Will be under GA. But have to put under observation for 4-6hrs after surgery. I was told the first 2-3days will be very painful. Any movement like walking will be very painful. So I won't be able to see my little Jadon for at least 5days after the ops. Will sure to miss him a lot.

Pray for speedy recovery and not much pain after the ops. Pray that my bowels will not cost much pain after the ops. Pray that it will not affect my daily routine like walking, sitting and squatting. Pray for strength to EBM during that few days after ops.

Hi samval,
Thanks for all the prayers.

Didn't managed to "catch" any docs today. Think not the senior docs are not on duty during the weekend. So I will try tomorrow if not monday. Wait for my sms. Will try to revert asap to you.

Hi Pris,
i just happened to come into this thread and read your postings from the beginning. I am a mother of a 2 yr old boy and also stays at Sengkang - Anchorvale Link. My heart goes out to you and I definately can understand the pain tat you are going thru now.

My tears just flowed when I saw the pics you took of Little Jadon in the wards.I share the pain as a mummy. You are a strong mummy and Little Jadon needs you to help him go thru this. He is also a strong baby, and an adorable one.

Please remember to take care of yourself so that you can help Jadon go thru the pain too.
We all hope to hear good news of Jadon to be back home with you and your hubby.

Hi Mummies,

Little Jadon looked very pale today again. Doc also notice it and took blood sample. My Hb signed the consent form again for blood transfussion (top up blood). Most probably have to top up again today. He's very sleepy and restless today. Face and lips colour very pale.

Pray for suitability and no side effect. I really hope little Jadon will be able to produce his red blood cells and this will be the last time for blood top up. Cos each top up there's a risk involved.

Hi Samval,
I had managed to get hold of one doc whom see little Jadon before. The doc said there's a big group of docs under the respiratory problems. There's a head called Doc Ann Goh. If you go directly to KKH and appointed the doc you want, it will be under private rates. I think you can also walk in to KKH for consultation and get them to refer you to the doc. If you are not in the hurry, then the normal routine will be go to Poly Clinic for them to refer so that you can have subside rates. Think this info may not help you much.

Hi S@L,
Thank you for your encouragement.

Hi Samval,

My boy is seeing Dr OM Chay @ KKH.. She also in Respiratory Medicine. We have been seeing her for the past 2 yrs and my boy's asthma is now under control..

pris, i got ur sms... my thoughts are with u... do take care... does jadon have any cordblood? will that help?

Hi Jen,
The placenta is malfunction. High resistance of blood flow to Little Jadon. That's why little Jadon is underweight cos nutrients cannot reach him. Thus gynae also said cannot keep the bloodcord cos not much blood there to keep as well.......

Hi Pris, no problem. If you do need any help (like baby stuffs or what ) do feel free to PM me. I would love to help if i can since I stay at Sengkang too.

I have been in a motherhood threads since my pregnant days and have made many frens in the forum. We always go to each other for support and organize gathering every now & then. Hope to see you soon with Little Jadon when he is back home! Do keep us posted if possible.

Take care

Hi pris,

hope jadon will be strong as he has always been.

Do try and take more green leafy veg as it would increase your iron content in your bm. And with that...little jadon will have more iron to make more blood.

Take care.

Hi Pris,

i got your sms...i'm praying for you. i mean it. god has been with you all along and he never fails us. thanks for helping me find out the doc that treats patients with respiratory probs. think i will drop by and request for a doc cos if go to A&E, then will be attended to by those medical officers. think if go polyclinic will also be referred to kk and be seen by medical officers right? had bad experience with them
sad.gif
sigh...thanks for your help.

hi nicky's mum...Dr. OM Chay is a consultant? experienced? oh so your boy has asthma? how his condition now?

hi linsaw...

got your pm thanks. baby now recovering. just that her vocal cords are not fully back yet and when she cries she can be breathless. very scary you know? saw dr. allyson tan (kids' clinic at rivervale mall) and she said that its a very rare condition and she's only seen one case in the past!! total in singapore only got 2 cases. so just worried that since not many cases here the docs wun be that experienced? in m'sia there are more cases so the docs there treat it as a norm. its a life threatening condition. sometimes when i think back how i could have lost my baby, i start getting emotional and wondered what wld happen if i din bring her to hosp in time, cos during that time i was too tired and was contemplating whether to bring her or not, since she already saw GP. luckily i did in time, if not....
sad.gif

Samval, glad to know your baby is fine now..ya i totally agreee with you. My mum lost my bro many yrs ago and she still tells me abt it with regrets cos during that time my parents were not so educated and always didnt think much abt babies having serious problem.

Even for me sometimes when my boy gets high fever, I will thnk if its necessary to bring him to a doc. However i still did in the end cos I cant imagine the consequences if I didnt send him to the hospital.

Hi Mummies,

Thank God little Jadon did not need to undergo blood transfussion (top up). Please continue to pray for little Jadon as he will be going for Tracheostomy ops either today lunch time or evening or Wed morning. Not sure the time until tomorrow morning. Classified under emergency ops as can't wait due to frequent desaturation. Little Jadon have very bad desaturation in his oxygen in the blood every few minutes. He turned blue for no reason in front of Dr Melissa.... Now place oxygen box. Dr Melissa said that frequent desaturation is no good for little Jadon as it will affect the heart, lung and brain.

Little Jadon will be sedated for about 1week in the Childeren ICU (Nurses in Children ICU handle Tracheostomy more often than in Neonatal ICU). Docs don't want little Jadon to move as the wound will need about 2-3days to heal and 1week to set in.

Hb rushed down to KKH and we meetup with Prof Henry Tan. Talk to us about the procedure and was told that one baby passed away as the baby did not do the Tracheostomy as the grandma insisted she had taken care of the father whom have small chin before. It's also dangerous as it will caused brain damage if insufficient oxygen reach the brain.

Ops duration will be about 30mins but it's still a major ops for little Jadon. I really hope this is the last ops and he can be discharged after this ops.

Please continue to pray that little Jadon's chin will grow as he grows and he will not need to have any chin ops. Doc explained that they would have to cut the jaw bone into two and insert the metal device inbetween. The device will extend everyday for 10days. This chin ops will be more major than all the rest of the ops. Docs don't want to do this as they are afraid the bone area might get infection. Moreover little Jadon is still very young.... In most cases, the chin will grow on its own.

Hi Samval,
I understand how you feel. Little Jadon have so many episodes turning blue and stopped breathing.... You must react within seconds. Every seconds counts.... My heart almost stopped everytime it happened.

Hi S@L,
Can't PM you as you did not on your option for PM. PM me instead. Thanks.

samval,
i know how you feel when you see your daugther sudeenly breathless. very scary one. furthermore you are oversea u do not know what to do . But luckily you send her to hospital in time. Dr allyson Tan ( kid clinic at rivervale mall) say this case is very rare condition. so is there any cure for this? anything she cannot take to prvent this to happen?

Pris,
we will continue to pray for little jadon for his opt to be sucessful and his speedy recovery .
If you need any help free feel to SMS me or PM me. U have my no right!

Hi Mummies,

Before pushing little Jadon to ot (operating threatre) room, little Jadon was busy sucking on his pacificer with his eyes big. The two anaesthetist (one of them holding on to little Jadon's pacificer while pushing the bed), one ot staff nurse, Dr Melissa and Dr Soh together with my mum, MIL, hb and myself escorted little Jadon to the ot room. Dr Melissa even went in the ot door to take another glimpse of little Jadon.

Ops took about an hour. Ops is successful. Thank our Mighty God for this. Dr Melissa has managed to fight for little Jadon to remain in Neonatal ICU. (Initial told me have to in Children ICU) I think there the docs not familiar with little Jadon's case. Dr Melissa even arranged nurses that handled Tracheostomy before to take care of little Jadon. Thank God for all the care and special attention on him.

He's currently in last cubicle and occupied the whole centre portion with only one baby on each side of his bed. No obstruction.

Docs need little Jadon to be sedated and paralyse for about 1 week (fastest will be 2-3days). The Tracheostomy now is very raw. They don't want little Jadon to move around as it will affect the healing and cause bleeding. It might even endangered his life. So this 1week very critical. They have tape his eyes to prevent the eyes from begin too dry.

Thank you all for all your prayers. Pray for speedy recovery on the Tracheostomy wound. His stomach button is still on healing process.

Pris,
wow you are still posting at such a late hour. Remember to take enough rest since you are shuttling ro and fro the hospital everyday.

I wish for Jadon's speedy recovery too. He is a strong baby, I'm sure he can handle it.

I just EBM finish at that time.....

One nurse specially allocated to monitor little Jadon 24hrs. Here are some pics taken of little Jadon.

pris, i see little jadon very heartache leh... u remain strong... look on the bright side... keep telling urself he will have a good life after all this is behind him...
happy.gif
btw, want to ask u where do u EBM?

hi pris,

it really pains me to see these pictures. jadon is a brave boy and i am sure he will become a man of character when he grows up. please take care of yourself too for your coming op.

My heart goes out to little Jadon. I have tears in my eyes looking at his pictures. I hope little Jadon gets better really quickly so that he can spend time with his very strong and loving mummy.

Hi Mummies,
Just received a phone call from KKH that my Stapled H'Dectomy (piles day surgery) will be postponed to 3rd March instead of scheduled 24th Feb. Dr not free on that day.....

I believe little Jadon will received a lot of love from our family, relatives and friends especially what he went through as a warrior. He shall be a testimony for God.

Jen,
I do my EBM in NICU Mother's Lounge. But they are opened only during visiting hours. When I asked why only visiting hours, nurse told me in the past they did not locked the room until 2years ago one heavy duty pump that cost $1000++ was stolen and a few brand new funnels also stolen. So from then on, the room is being locked after visiting hours.

If not, I "ren" until I reach home to pump.

pris, so u use the hospital's pump? i bring along my own and pump by drawing the curtains around the bed...

hi pris,

seeing little jadon very heart ache. but hey..can see that he's grown bigger!
happy.gif
praise the lord for his successful operation and may he have a speedy recovery. btw, are you allowed to play music in the NICU or ICU? dunno whether it will interfere with those equipment or not. cos i have a baby CD and can burn a copy for you. very sweet baby songs from god. huh?? pump also can get stolen in hosp?? wah whoever did it must really have a guilty conscience. will be praying for you everyday in my prayers.

linsaw....according to dr. allyson tan, the cure for Acute Epiglottitis is by taking antibiotics that needs to be taken intravenously (injected into the bloodstream). and i think its a certain kind of antibiotics, not those normal ones that the GP gives us orally. this illness is caused by bacterial infection. can be due to dirty pacifier, water, milk bottles, environment (cos baby likes to put things in the mouth) etc. just found out that the main cause of it is the HIB (5-in-1) jab! cos the HIB jab produces some bacteria to fight in the bodies or something like that. not really clear. must read up more in internet. so funny right? tot HIB jab is supposed to protect babies? dunno leh....

Hi Mummies,
You must be thinking little Jadon is putting on weight. You are half right. He's having excessive water (liquid) retention inside him. He's balloon everywhere including the size of his head. All these are post-ops effect. I was shocked to see him balloon overnite. Currently I was told by nurse that little Jadon right lung have some patches and they laid him on his left side.

Dr Melissa tried to find new veins on his legs and hands. Due to balloon size, when they poke little Jadon water came out instead of blood..... They have to set drip every 2-3days for normal procedure. As Dr need to send in 14drips of medication into little Jadon, the vein wear out within 1day. Dr Melissa could not find the vein and the last resort..... THE HEAD!!!!!!!! Stunned, shocked and no words to describe how I and my hb feel. My hb whom have learnt to set drip before was shocked to know that head vein also can set drip. This scene is too memorable for my hb as today is his b'day..... Nurse even told us that stomach also have veins and can set drip also.

Tonight they are adding blood transfussion (top up) into the drips set to his head. Little Jadon haemoglobin is low. Currently one leg may have a few different medication, another hand have another few more different and the head a few more.

NIL by mouth for at least a week. Currently on nutrient drip. Think they want to set a permanent drip on a deeper vein (was told this vein can last to about 1month instead of 2-3days).

Please pray for healing on his lung. Retention to subside. Veins don't collapse. Pray that all his organs and body will function well. God's healing hands to be upon him.

Head drip that is set today 16 Feb at 3pm

Hi Jen,
I did not use hospital pump since I had bought 2nd hand PIS Advanced. Cos KKH pump in NICU mother's lounge only can use 1 funnel at a time (Old type of pump with old type of tube). In SCN, the pump is more newer and can put additional tube so that can dual pump.

Pris,
it really heartpain to see little Jadon going thru all this.

samval,
you mean the 5 in 1 jab will cos this illness? it quite a shocking news to me. i thought the jab is suppose to protect the baby from illness?

Pris
You are a very strong mummy and pictures of little Jadon showed that he has a strong fighting spirit. My prayers for your family & littl Jadon and that God will always be there to protect and take care of him.

Pris
I am reading this thread in office and i couldn't control my tears when i saw the pictures.

I am in loss of words. BE STRONG AND HAVE FAITH!

Hi Pris

My tear flowed as I saw the pictures. I will pray for little Jadon and hope he will be discharge soon.

Take care of yourself.

Hi Pris,

I really feel like crying upon seeing pics of little Jordan. His pics also make me feel like crying even though I am in office. Do take care of yourself and give little Jordan all our hugs and kisses......

Hi Pris,
My heart goes all out to little Jadon. So young yet need to go thru so much...

Pls be strong... for yourself and Jadon.

Hi Pris
my heart ache when i see the photos of little Jadon....it is really painful and with all the tubes..
but be strong and continue to be for Jadon...will keep you and Jadon in our prayers

Hi Pris

I just happen to come across this thread and its so sad to see pics of little jadon in tubes.
Little Jadon is such a strong warrior, you must stay strong and take care of yourself too.

Thanks you all for your encouragement. Love your child as much as you can. Give them your love, hugs and kisses. Cherish every moment of time spend with them. Be blessed and thankful your child need not go through what little Jadon has gone through.

Though I do not know why God put little Jadon and our family through all these trials. I believe God has a purpose to do so but I don't know the reason yet. So I clinging to this belief and hope in God. I find our family bonding a bit closer than before. Our parents also supported us by visiting little Jadon some visiting shift thus we have time to rest.

Little Jadon need all your prayers. Little Jadon is a blessings from God and a blessing to others as well. I will continue to stay strong.

Hi Pris,

I can't control my tears upon seeing little jadon's pics. be strong and trust in God with all your heart. jadon is a fighter and he will pull through this. will sms you later. pls take care of your health too.

linsaw..i'm as shocked as you are abt the 5-in-1 jab. i'm still blur abt this and have yet to find the answers
happy.gif
when i check with dr. allyson again i will update you.
