U sent ur dd to I CAN READ? Hw is it? Hw old when u 1st sent her? Been looking ard for anyone with child in I CAN READ Programme and finally found u!!Eh share la share la...Thinking of sending him when he turns 3 to emphasize more on reading skills..Do they do tht?I called them recently tapi my DS baru 2.5mths n mcm their prog not tht constructive yet for this age grp..Heard abt fastrackids too,not sure if its a better place for my son nxt yr..all these places takde trial..susah nak decide on..Let me know ok what u know can? thks

Lama tunngu ke?hw long tu? mesti excited kan..I can truly understand tht..I agree with mademoiselle as not to put baby on the same bed as u..I made tht mistake n it was so difficult to transfer him to his own!! I thot initially lepas beranak kan malas la nak bangun baring bangun baring so to be be able to sleep longer at nite, I put him next to me..So now!!! pandan muka ku..dia melekat bawa armpit mama nye...What to do..But Im very persistant in training him to sleep on his own..ok lah 1st nite sekejap aje cari balik mama..2nd nite not to bad..Now dah 2 wks, a success!!
Abt the tukang urut, my aunt tinggal kat CCK is a tukang urut..if u nak I can ask her to give u call or u can call her, whcever is convenient 4 u..juz let me knw..so for now juz take care of ur health..

you can use a playpen for you bb to sleep in at your home. but if possible buy a better quality mattress for the playpen, cause i find the ones that come with playpens are of very inferior quality, so not too good for bb's back and neck. you want them to be comfortable and have restful sleep - good for you also. my advice is don't let bb sleep with you in bed - dangerous and also later on got probs trying to get them to move to their own beds. my dd slept in her own cot in her own room from Day 1. so i never had probs with her sleeping on her own. now dah 21mths old she still sleeps in her own room, but on a queen size mattress on the floor lah, cause she outgrew her cot at 12mths old!

btw, i also have 2 of everything! cause my dd used to stay over at my mum's place some weekends since she was a bb, so we just put duplicates of everything at my mum's place also. convenient that way, so no need to bring anything if we wanna go over there.

i agree with all the mummies kat sini, if possible jangan let ur bb sleep with you cos nanti melekat susah... it will not be a waste of money if you put it to practise as make sure u let ur bb sleep in their own cot from the beginning...i did tat since my girl balik from hospital....alot of people say cot is waste of $$. Actually its not. if you dun let ur bb sleep on their own from early stage and then bila dah besar tak nak tidur sendiri then you start to say its a waste of $$ b'cos anak tak nak tidur sendiri.. bukan anak tak nak tidur sendiri, they are not use to it....so u have to start from young.....my girl now is 2 yr 3 mths and she's still sleeping in her cot and i can sleep better sometimes later...

like wat Lani say, if u intend to put ur bb @ your mum's, it's better to have two of everything so tak leceh for you nak bring so many things everytime nak hantar anak pi rumah mak...hth.

I'm not really new here...just an intro..I'm WOHM with dd 27mths and dd 4mths. I seldom join the forum cos' not easy to read the thread as in other baby forum.

Voguemama yup i kno abt the pertapis @ yew tee...it's just behind my mums blk...but ended up sending to IYAD CCK tis jan 07. Register her when she was 18mths..n the wating list r really long. My cousin daug is in Little Dolphin...she said it's good.

I sent my daughter to I CAN READ when she was 5. She was still unable to read at that age. I was worry if by P1 she still unable to read and poor her be left behind. My hubby never like me enrolling her to any academic classes coz he said later she stress. Let her enjoy her childhood. But after 3mths at I CAN READ, she is able to read fluently to my & hubby delight. But got to pull her out of the class when she went to P1 coz clashed with her timetable... All the teachers at I CAN READ are 'ang moh lang' so my daughther benefit and speak English fluently with proper pronunciation.. I have to say $$ worth spending.

FYI, me dah kawin for almost 5 years. My sis in law yng kawin few months after me pon dah 2 orang anak dia. Sedih jugak tiap kali mengharap sklai takde..bila nie 'tersangkut' terus mcm tak percaya gitu.

So far i heard both negative and positive feedback. Jadi cn oni comment nxt yr wen he start his class. Yang bestnye, most of the classes are found in the neighbourhood. So i tak yah buang masa travel jauh2 patt town.
 
Eh, i nk rekomen korang this bookshop pat Bras Basah la.Buku dia murah2! I suka pi situ beli buku untk Adam. Dia pat tgkt 3 tak salah. Sama level as Popular. Pat hujung skali. Nama kedai dia Children's Book Store. Kalo ada sesape nk pegi, ask me oso la.

YUp my dd starting IYAD next month...went to their orientation....got swimmimg class also as my dd loves swimming...i'm impressed seing their briefing on a 5yr old girl who can use computer to write a simple diary. yup they have mixed class n have simple chinese lesson too...i'll update once my dd start sch....

Vogue, u kalo nk cut waiting list u ask sesape tu rekomen ar. Cos dat time my sis nk enrol anak dia pun tungu lame. Then she ask someone to rekomen within a week da dapat place. My nephew suka Iyad. Tapi now da ada maid, he's attending Raudhah instead. and according to my sis, Iyad pun better dari Hijrah. No wonder dorang spend a lot of $ on advertising. Fedback i got from other parents oso nt v +ve.

Hi all. Assalamualaikum.
Thought I'd join in this interesting sharing about pre-schools. IYAD is indeed great. Wanted to put my girl in but since I don't need a childcare after taking a helper, she's now in PPIS (Bukit Batok) which is also an excellent place cos it balances both ukhrawi and duniawai at the same time. My 2.5 yr-old boy will also join his sis there next year for pre-nursery.

yeah, i agree about iyad. unfortunately, i live too far away from iyad. one of my friends used to work there and she's really good. she's a degree holder from nus, speaks v good english, very religious, patient etc - but she has left now that she has her own children to care for.

for me, my childcare option come end of next year will be mercu @ woodlands. failing that, i'll consider the ones at yew tee. some of my friends' children are there and my nephew is also there and they dont have anything negative to say about the place. i definitely will not go for those that engage in heavy advertising unless i'm very desperate.

kak boo, any pretty clothes in the 3-6months range? my daughter's 9 months old tapi dia punya kenit, aiyoooh.. she has only recently begun to outgrow the newborn clothes. or flashcards with real pictures (not the cartoonish ones) - i want to make my own flashcard tapi printer tengah meragam ah.

I saw de post on the urat lady @ clementi. I use her services often. Not bad. I asked abt post-natal urut b4 n she charges, kalau tak silap, $550 for 10 sessions plus all the ubat. I belum negotiate lagi. Mcm mahal gitu but I'm already comfy wif her. Hope she can give discount.

And i some qns. IYAD tu stands for what? It's a childcare is it? Whr is it situated? Enlighten me pls..

About the tingkat dinner, I used to have my tingkat dinner delivered by ZEEKAYS but don't know whether they exist anymore. They food some time ok but most of the time not ok.
I also know that Hajah Maimunah do tingkat dinner. Let me go back & find the paper cutting that I've cut out from the newspaper. Actuall there's a few non-muslim caterers doing tingkat dinner for muslim. Saw alot of the advert in the Straits Times. Now luckily my sis is willing to provide tingkat dinner for my whole family...

adalah.. a few weeks back ada article kat berita minggu. before i get to hold on to that paper, my father dah jual kat karang guni.. so if ada sesiapa ada that article can know the hp and website ah.. oh this few groups of guys form a team to get supplies from hajjah maimunah ah to do tingkat.. the price if i am not wrong is $200 for 20 days..hehehe i paling favourite their food. hehehe memang penat seh balik rushing and nak cook..surrender babe...anyway this caterer sent food kol 7 to 7.30pm gitu so ok lah makanan still hot.

MU, i manage to get the seller selling the sling yg you ada to me at $10 at yahoo tapi nak pick up leceh ah..she stays at yew tee and balik malam.. so still pending. anyway how you feel when using the sling? gd tak? my neck penat angkat my 4 mths girl.. she dah 7.5kg..adui terpaksa tampal koyok...

Sling yg i pakai tu Moms in Mind. Okla. I like. Cos si Adam dari 2wks i gendong dia dlm sling smp skrg. Kalo carrier lain dia tak favourite ar. Kalo u refer to sling yg i nk jual tu, mcm RMX nye COMBI baby carrier, my boy langsung tak mau dok dlm. Ntah pasal, gaknye ada pin la cocok bontot dia. So mana2 i pakai sarong sling aje. Kalo tau pakai, neck tak sakit. Kena pandai adjust ar. Kadang2 i salah adjust balik tengkuk mcm nk retak.

i ada MIM sling juga and also wearbabyhugz.. initially i pakai ok...lama2 tak ok.. been using sling for my eldest daughter juga..so far i am ok.. agaknya badan nie dah tua and penat ah.. hhmm seems like i hv to get twin stroller to accomodate both of them.
 
during ramadan, i ordered the tingkat service from hajah maimunah.

puas tau! tapi mahal sket dari the one provided by the chinese companies. i used to order from qzin.com.sg tapi my husband tak boleh telan makanan from them - too bland. kita kan lidah melayu. for qzin, portion for 1 is enough for both of us. for hjh maimunah, we need portion for 2.

I agree with you. Cook for 2 tak muai. My hubby also would rather eat outside. More economical he says. But now, no worries, paid my sis to do the cooking so for the past 3 yrs my dapur tak berasap...
 
I also AGREE 100%. Cook for 2, not worth the effort. Of buying groceries, preparing, cookin, cleanin up. Abeh makan, ngap, 5 min abes. So dapor i pun jarang berasap. Esbok sentiasa kosong. selalunya, bila beli onions, garlic pat ntuc, pakainya seketul. yang lain jadi pokok. :-D

bettybad, i also ingatkan time confinemt bole order. hopefully by dat time, they can cater to more areas. i ni tercampak kat queenstown. jarang ade members kat sini.
 
i agree about cooking for 2.

a waste of effort betul. dah lah tu, i'm such an *expert* in cooking.. kekadang tu, kene tumis sambal 2 , 3 kali, baru menjadi.. dont ask me where the first few batches of sambal tumis ended up in.

tapi, one of my targets for my no-pay-leave is to cook at least 4 times a week. so, goodbye hajah maimunah.. (until my husband cant take it anymore, that is) ;)
