Hi all,

am new to this board Have been ttc naturally for about 2 years now. So I suppose we are having fertility issues. Am 31 and hubby is 40. Been told age gap could make it difficult. Am now ready to seek profession help but i don't know where to start! polyclinic? gp? fertility clinic? hospital?

Anyone can show me the way to move forward?

hi i am a 30yr with primary ovarian disorder.. not married yet. my bf is devasted that i am diagnoised with this and i am getting very depressed. do u know of any good infertility doc who can help me?

I also went to dr Charles MP Lim at Mount E.

I tried to conceive for 4 years without any results. Seek treatments at Raffles Hosp, GlenE, KK, TMC. Did 3 IUI @ TMC. Went to Thong Chai Medical (TCM) for about 1.5 years. Did Lap surgery to remove my left ovary b/c of endo cyst. Diagnosed with PCO.

I was recommended to see Dr Lim in early 2010. Took me 3 months to do "research" on him before I finally decided to give him a try. Went thru IVF in Sep 2010 & succeeded.

His consultation is $75 (except for the 1st visit $100)
Ultrasound scan is free (except for the 1st visit; i think it's $75).

o ya...he's focused in fertility treatments only...he doesn't handle deliveries, so if you manage to conceive, he'll see you until week 21, then he'll have you transferred out to another gynae.

hi JY

Do you mind to share the cost of IVF, i've also tried to conceive for 4 years with no success. Also PCOS.

As cost is a concern i will like to find out more before going to him.

And Congrats to you

I would like to recommend Dr Charles MP Lim too, I went to him in April 2010 and got pregnant in Aug 2010 . Previously I have went to KKH , TMC, Eu Yan Sang Paragon

hi xris,

i'm on my 17weeks now, will be transferred out on week 21.

thanks

Hi JY, Initially decided to go to TB Lim but have changed mind, I am currently with Benjamin Tham at TMC

Hi xris,
Dr Charles also recommends Dr TB Lim, but i have not seen him yet.

Is it ok for me to know the reason why you choose Dr Benjamin Tham iso. Dr TB Lim? I tried to PM you but i think you don't accept PM.

You can email me at [email protected]

Thanks

Hi Ladies,

I have make appt with Dr Charles Lim for SO IUI this coming April 02, 2011. I did IUI on 12 Feb 2011 but failed with DR Kelly Loi at Paragon Medical Suite. I'm hoping for the best this time round. Will keep you updated. Thanks!

Hi Kate27,

U doing SO IUI in April? When you start seeing Dr Charles Lim?? I am going to see him tomorrow for first consultancy and my next menses due on 23 Mar 2011. I hope to do whatever test needed then can do IUI in April.

Now wonder if i need to wait another cycle.

Hi Theymeu, you can refer to this article here http://sg.******************/articles/superovulation_and_intrauterine_insemination_singapore

Hi Kate27, I did 4 X plan A and 1 X plan B (SO IUI)

Hi Li Yun, if you have done pre pregnancy test before then you just need to bring it along to show Dr Charles.

@theymeu:
SO-IUI - super ovulation IUI
you'll be given hormone injection so that you can produce more than 1 egg to ovulate.

Before my IVF, I ever checked with the fertility centre whether I could choose the baby gender. She said gender selection is not allowed in SGP. I think it shd be the same for other fertility treatments.

Hi Xris,

So you did 4 x IUI & 1 x SO IUI? the final SO IUI u did get pregnant is that rite?

Hi Li Yun,

I'm seeing him 02 April 2011 at 9.00am. On that day will be my 1st day of mensus. So i hope he can allow me to go with SO IUI straight away.

Please update me ur 1st experience with him. I heard the patients there need to wait for very long time.

Hi kate,
If you can, you shd be @ the clinic earlier than 830am to avoid the crowd. I usually arrive at 815-830am (810-815 on saturdays) and I'll be 1st or 2nd patient.

Hi JY,

Thank you for the info. I'll be there early.
Can you advise me on what to expect on my 1st appt with him. Do you think he allows me to start SO IUI straight away?

Hi Kate,

On my 1st appointment, he did Ultrasound to confirm the previous diagnosis that my previous gynaes had. Then, he explained the plans (plan A-C) that he has. For my case, he asked me to do Plan A first (intercourse + gonal f injections + chlomid). I failed that, and he advised me to do SO-IUI (plan B), but I decided to go straight for IVF (plan C), mainly b/c I had done 3 IUI/SO-IUI @ TMC before I went to see Dr Charles.

I think whether he'll advise you to take which plan depends on your conditions.

I spent quite a while talking to him on the first appointment. I also emailed him a few more questions after that appt. He usually replies within 1-2 working days. He's also easily contacted via phone.

Hi JY,

Thank you so much for making time to answer all my questions.
In that case I'll try 1 round of SO IUI if unsuccessful l'll go ahead with IVF. I will keep you updated after my appt with Dr Charles Lim.

Hi JY, thanks for the info!
I went to Dr Charles Clinic this morning but I couldn't
wait coz I need to get back to work. I went
To Dr Kelly Loi @ Paragon Medical Suites for my SO IUI
today. I was taught how to inject myself with Puregon 75IU daily for 5 days as today is my 2nd day of menses. Going to see her again on this coming Saturday. Will keep u updated!

Hi Ladies,

Tomorrow will be my last day of self injection - Puregon 75 IU. I will check on my eggs this coming Saturday morning @ 0930am.
My gynae will advise if she need to increase or decrease the dosage. Hope everything is good so we may proceed to SO IUI.

Hi Kate,
how's your IUI?

BTW, another doc for fertility that I heard is good is Dr Sheila Loh @ Raffles Hospital.

Hi gals, any update for those who are trying under Dr Charles Lim?

I have been TTC for 2 years now. Thinking of seeing Dr Charles Lim for 2nd opinion as my current gynae suggests laparoscopy before moving on to IUI/IVF. I have suspected PCOS (though I ovulate every month from BBT)and other than that, gynae cannot find anything wrong from the v-scans.

Hi Phylee

Do give Dr Charles Lim a chance before you go for laparoscopy. I have seen gynae at KKH and TMC and also Eu Yang Sang, they cant find anything wrong with me too except my linning is too thick and they all suggested laparoscopy which I refused.

My last choice was Dr Charles Lim and he diagnosed me with very mild pcos, there is no need for any laparoscopy and I did managed to get pregnant after a few tries under his plans
