Dear Mothers & Mothers To Be

I tested positive last week. However, till now, I do not really know what is the next step. Do I search for a gynae that I want to deliver my baby with or I can just go any clinic gynae to do a checkup first?

Can anyone advise on the cost of delivery too? I saw many of you mentioning about packages with doctors, $500-$800. Is this package inclusive of the very first check till I deliver or do I need to pay another package to deliver?

I am so confused with the amount needed to have a baby now. Kindly advise please. Thank you all

bigrice, congrats, the first step is to find a gynae and fix an appt for chkup.

The first checkup with gynae will cost a bit more due to the first consultation charges. So we will choose the gynae right at the start and hopefully stick to the gynae throughout till delivery.

You have to ask yourself whether you would like to give birth in private or govt hosp and which hosp you will like to go. Some gynae only deliver in certain hosp. Any preference over male or female gynae?

I am not sure whether govt hosp offers package or not coz i gave birth in tmc. Some gynaes offer package, start date varies from gynae to gynae, can be right from 2nd visit/12week/16weeks/20weeks. Some actually don't offer package at all, i.e, pay as you consult. This package refers to pre-natal package, not deliver package. delivery charges is separate amount.

Are you having another child now? or just gave brth? I always prefer female gynae cos anit embarrassed with male gynae but also heard many people mentioned guys better cos they more gentle as compared to female gynae, esp those who have given birth.

Glad you drop by to ans my doubts. Thank you

Hi bigrice, glad you have found a gynae. normally by 6th week you can hear the heartbeat and see the sac.

I gave birth last year and now I am trying for #2. Had the same thinking as u, chose a female gynae for my #1, but now for #2, will be seeing a male gynae. It shouldn't matter whether female or male as long as you are comfortable with the gynae u r seeing.

I went to female and male gynae and I think male is more gentle compared to female. But I agree it doesn't matter as long as you feel comfortable with the doctor
