I was considering this famous female doc in Raffles (Dr Joanne somthing, dunno her name) :p

Hi Vuyst,
My gynae is a guy. His clinic is located at Central Plaza (Tiong Bahru MRT). His clinic is not posh as in like Mt E or Gleneagles.
Tel 6276-1525.

You are welcome. Good to get some recommendations from the other ladies here. Most important is to be comfortable with the gynae as he/she will be delivering your baby.

hi Shimily,

sorry to hear ur story..

Can u pls email me the name of the gynae at Mt E? coz i will be due in feb.. Jus wana make sure everything is fine..
[email protected]

Jane,
can we have a possible tat we are sharing the same gynae? u wana email me her name?

i think for those who have resumed normal bleeding or no odd discharge, just follow up ur normal pst natal checkup shld be fine

Hi Shmily,

im getting paranoid cos i notice somewhat the same thing when i was cleaning up after doing my light business.

You see, my lochia supposedly was to taper off.. i had an emergency c-sec but after the lochia stopped for 4 days, it came back bright red as if it was like the 1st day and the lochia was heavy. This one fine day when i was cleaning up, i notice a long (nose) mucus, someparts covered with blood and some not. It was very long.. i say abt close to 8cm and i can even pull it out.

Is this somethng i have to be cautious abt. I was supposed to have my post preggy scan last week on the 5th but bcos of the so-called 'lochia' that came back.. i had to postpone it to the 27th.

Wonder if things will be allright?

I didnt read through the whole thread but i was told to find guy gynae, especially 1st pregnancy. I'm not sure but are there cases of female gynae being sued in SG? Its like female are more nervous etc when its not natural birth etc, where operation has to be carried out. Unless the gynae is very 'zai'.

i think this is a case of negligence. don't they do proper checks before stitching up?

think the 'sorry i didn't realise its so serious' from the doc is a load of rubbish. if i were you, would have sued the doc upside down.

It's so sad to hear that. Yes, I agree that if a gynae does something wrong she has to correct it and pay for the damages.
This is also a lesson for all of us mothers. Let's take precautionary measures when we give birth or even before we give birth, we should know about the procedures that the gynae will do.

Hi,

Just to share this information. When I was pregnant with my first child, my mother had actually asked me to massage my womb and belly as there may be some remaining of the membrane that protects the baby that is still inside.

Usually the doctor will check if everything is discharged after you've given birth, but you never know since doctors are humans too. Better be safe than sorry.

My mother's experience is that she gave birth to my brother and was given a massage by the midwife, but when she gave birth to me, there was no massage, so she massage herself and after a day while she's still in the hospital, a great big lump of "blood" fell out and also she bled alot as well. But since she's in the hospital, there was no complication. They just stopped her bleeding and everything went back to normal.

I was simply told by the senior nurse to expect heavy discharge of remaining membrane when I get home and that I shouldn't panic. Quite scary feeling when it did happen 'cos I'm generally scared of blood and gore.

Hi Shmilyc

It's good to hear that everything is ok after this painful ordeal you have went through.

All the best to you.

The simple massage that we can even do ourselves post birth helps to stimulate the womb to contract and pushes out the clots and discharges.

Useful. Gets you back into an hour glass shape faster too.

Breast feeding helps the womb contract too.
