5 years trying to conceive and still no luck. Anyone is fighting with me?

Hi everyone,

My husband and I are trying to conceive for 5 years. I'm 34 yo. My husband and I have no issue except his sperm's morphology was lower than normal reading. I have tried alot methods (tcm, iui, prayed to erawan shrine, zhu sheng niang niang and song zhi guan yin, took supplement)

Last year and early of this year, we went thru 2 iui and no luck. We took rest with tcm for 7months and decided to stop tcm. Recently I went for gynae check up and found i diagnosed pcos. my gynae has suggested me to take lentronat 2.5mg for my coming cycle and monitor follicles.

Has anyone would like to share your experience and encourage each other? Currently we still hold for ivf.

Im also currently trying to conceive . Don’t give up! I did SO ( Super Ovulation ) - IUI 3 times. I took clomid + injectables. Conceived on my 2nd try but unfortunately miscarriage at 6 weeks. Before the miscarriage, my gynae also told me that i have polycystic ovaries. Currently i’m still on TCM & probably want to try fertility massage.

i have read online that IUI result usually peak at the 3-4th Try.
My TCM doctor also told me that husband morphology is quite an important factor for couples who are trying to conceive, so maybe your hubby can eat some supplement / tcm to increase the morphology?

Thanks to share your experience with me. My first iui also took clomid + gonal f injection. However my 2nd iui, I took gonal f injections from day 2 to day 12/13. It was shown 20 follicles but still no luck. May I know who is your gynae? I was with dr. Wendy teo. She is good and patience. Due to no result, I have changed to Dr. Kanika, she is good too.

My hub took migrate q10 before as prescribed by dr. WT. Now he is taking Acemax. and i am taking folic acid as prescribed by dr. K. She also shared with me that iui success rate will be increased at 3-4th try, but I m not sure whether it is continuous try or in total.

I went for fertility massage too, but I dislike the way she sells the 'package' so I didnt continue after first trial.

Dont give up and jia you together!!

I am with Dr Henry Cheng from Astra Woman Specialist. I like that he is always very calm and patient. Im currently trying natural, if doesnt work i probably go back and look for him in a few months time. Maybe you can get a second opinion from him. I feel very comfortable with him.

I guess is the quality of the egg and sperm that matters. Ultimately we only needed 1 egg and 1 sperm to conceive. Now i hope my egg is of good quality. I am also taking frolic acid & trying Tian yuan xiang chicken essence, a lot of ladies here got pregnant with the help of that chicken essence , probably because it builds up your body & prepare for conception.

may i know which fertility massage you went ? You may pm me if it is not convenient to say it out here.

We are in the same clinic but different branch and gynae. I had an iui briefing and realized the procedure is a bit different from dr. WT. Especially during post iui.

How do you feel after taking tian yuan xiang CE? Do u feel any different especially discharge during ovulation? Before I diagnosed pcos, my discharge obviously reduced and almost none during 'ovulation'.

You mean dr henry cheng procedure and dr w.t different post IUI?

I just started taking it , so i don’t feel much difference except that i feel i really have more energy & the chicken essence is really nice! Due to PCOS, the tyx staff suggest me nt to take the pregnancy plan because i am unsure of when will i actually ovulate . She suggested me to take CE with eucommia, suitable for pre and during pregnancy.
I also started to track my ovulation by using the LH strip i bought from Q0010.
 
I mean dr.k vs dr. W t haha.. after iui procedure, there was no injection/medication at dr. Wt clinic. But dr.k still do medication& injection. This is the only different I think.

Noted on the tyx chicken essence. Maybe will try it :)

My tcm also asked me to measure temperature every morning like 8am, based on the body temperature she is able to tell whether u have ovulated or not. But kinda of stress haha.. so I quit tcm. Now just focus with dr. K.

Hmm. This is the briefing I went thru with dr.k. maybe different patient need different support after iui.

but I still not tempt to do iui. See what she advise on my upcoming cycle ba. She ady prescribed me lentronat to consume on day2 period. Finger crossed!
 
Do not despair.... my journey was about 10 years before I finally conceived naturally. I did all dat could be done... prayers, temples, fengshui, doc, tcm.... u name it... i prob have done most of it...

I tried 3 times IUI and 1 IVF... TCM too... it was after my failed IVF, I needed 2 manage my emotions, decided 2 take a break fr TTC n so went travelling while DH was on a biz trip 2 BKK... I conceived.

I feel so blessed finally found this group and share my experience here cause I really feel no one can understand us better. Especially those relatives alway concern your progress.

Dr Henry Cheng - Astra Women Specialist. I was wif him b4 he "merged" He is a patient n jovial doc... i did all my IUIs wif him, but went KKH 4 my IVF as I wanted 2 claim subsidies.

I know of a few friends / relatives who are also seeing him... either we met while @ his clinic or when he was doing his rounds @ hospital.
 
I was diagnosed with pcos too. Main problem is follicle doesnt grow . Have tried 3 rounds of clomid+metformin and 1 round of gonal-f. All didnt produce result except second round of clomid but still unsuccessful.
For me the most torturing part is not waiting for result but waiting for menses to come after the previous cycle failed. My menses were either delayed for months or volume too little that I keep wondering whether those are spotting or proper menses flow and should I start new treatment . Anyone having same problem like me?

Have you tried Tcm for your menses flow issue?

I have. Both herbs and acupuncture for about 7-8 months. But my gynae advised me to stop the herbs so just acu now. Not sure how much it helps as I feel the difference are not obvious.

Did u try iui? My menses obviously reduced before I suspected I diagnosed pcos. My first day of menses just very little flow and day 5. It was normal flow on day 2&3, day 4 started reduced.

Mine is worse. Sometimes I dont even get normal flow so I cant be sure whether I am having menses or not. At this stage, my treatment focus shall be getting me to ovulate. So I dont think iui is gonna help me yet as iui helps more for sperm issue or unexplained infertility. T.T

Which gynae are you with? Can western medicine kick start your period?

I have PCOS too. Have you tried clomid? I have managed to conceive with the help of clomid (though my first pregnancy ended with a blighted ovum).

Doctor might need to adjust the clomid dosage as not everyone will respond to the same dosage level.

I have tried clomid again, and currently I’m 4 weeks+ pregnant.. I have to be on duphaston and proluton to support this pregnancy. I’m hoping the best for all of us here.

Currently taking letrozole and Chinese medicine. So menses regular. And just went for day 12 scan, there is egg. So hope can get pregnant. Actually, I give stress to myself esp after ovulation and before menses, the 14 days waiting period :(
 
Hi! Don't give up! I myself have been trying for about 4 years before we succeeded. Most important is stress. Find a good TCM physician to help you with your IVF or IUI procedures if you are planning one. I was at my wits end before TCM helped me. All the best!!

I know how you feel. I have come to a point and think “what’s mine would be mine...” in this way, you will be less stressful. Just think about happy thoughts to get yourself distracted. There is really nothing we can do but to wait for that 2 weeks. All we can do is to stay positive.

Congratulations turtledove. Were u just tried clomid and pregnant? How long have u ttc?

Hi shirley, so in the end was the tcm physician that helped you to get pregnant? Ikr 4 years is not easy. I also try to relax but kinda hard because got to track ovulation etc. But everything is worth it as long as can get pregnant. I'm waiting for this day.

I feel u. The 14 days waiting period really would make u think alot. But I m with u ttc journey so dun think that u are alone. Baby dust to us and all the best!

Tracking ovulation I think u take it as a period, don't use ovulation kit. Measure your temperature is better. Then try during that period will do. And taking TCM can help build your lining and help with ovulation. Are u seeing one now?

Hello doudouyafuren, been ttc for 3 years. Yes I just tried clomid and it works for me. As I cannot ovulate on my own due to PCOS. Dare not to be so happy yet, as I haven’t have my scan. Gonna wait for 2 weeks for my first scan to check if I can see anything. As my first pregnancy ended with a blighted ovum so I’m a little concerned. Nevertheless, I’m staying hopeful. And I hope everyone here will be blessed with own child soon. Let’s continue to pray hard and stay positive. Good luck and be strong ladies.

I was seeing tcm on and off within my 5 years ttc journey. my tcm physician also asked me to track temperature and she will analyse whether when to try. However, I found it was quite stress so i quit tcm. U are so lucky and got a good tcm physician.

Lucky! Good luck and have a smooth delivery. I was also diagnosed with PCOS and it improved through the years with TCM and huge lifestyle changes. Just had my first SO-IUI and post 8 days.. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Which gynae are you with and what checks have been conducted to determine your severity of PCOS? Did you have your Fallopian tubes checked too (HSG)? If your flow is so little, is it a uterus lining problem too? Clomid makes the lining thin.

I am seeing Dr Fong Yang. He did prescribe me medicine twice, both times successful and flow a lot. But I am hesitate to run to western medicine every time my menses is not on time. Just feel wrong . My tcm also tend to ask me wait for it to come naturally unless the wait is too long. Which is also why my treatment is like taking forever because I am only trying every two or three months!

Dr Fong Yang. I did blood test and hsg. Ultrasound scanning can also tell. Lining is not ideal as well. That’s why I stopped trying with clomid after 3 rounds.
 
my sis in law also has pcos. With Tmc treatment ( herbs and acupuncture) was able to conceive naturally within 7 months after trying for almost 10 years. But her hubby has no issues with sperm quality. Can't recommend her doctor as she is not in Singapore. Just try doctor who is not just Tmc but specialised in fertility Tmc, it's very important difference.

I did write my PCOS story somewhere. Just some single lifestyle changes and your menses will probably return to normal.

Jus saw the tcm doc this morning and she suspects I have pcos- would like to ask where did y'all go to get tested for pcos (thru polyclinic referral or?)
