Hey congrats!! Just got a BFP too. 
Big headache to choose the right gynae. So many considerations!! My hubs just got a new job so he can't really take leave readily. Yet, some gynaes only see first-timers on weekdays.
I had a miscarriage just 4 weeks ago at 6 weeks, no period in between and now I'm 4 weeks preggers! The previous gynae that I went during my miscarriage was rather pricey, $140 consultation. I'm looking for somewhere between $90 - $120.
Any recommendations?

I am also looking for gynea. Currently I am working in Nuh, so I will deliver in Nuh as there will be benefits. But I am still thinking which dr to choose.. When is ur Edd?
I think 90-120 , maybe in kkh or non Pte.
But I think better get private coz waiting time think shorter and specialist dr attend to u.

Usually most pple base on online calculator ( the last menses first day) . For my #1, I rem my gynea start count first week only from the 2nd week( ovulation date).
Usually pple go see gynea Abt 6-7 weeks( den can see small beanie and hear heartbeat )coz if 4-5 weeks ( usually too small n can't heart heartbeat , think they need to use a special scan den can see small dote)

Dr Chen Lin Han is one of my shortlisted gynae too! Famous one in the neighbourhood. The other doc in Yishun, Dr Hii, has a rude receptionist/nurse.

Mine may sound a little confusing to some. I had a miscarriage (started bleeding) on 31st July, and continued bleeding for 4-5 days. I detected my ovulation day about 16 days later, 17th August, using an ovulation test kit. I had a faint band on the pregnancy test 10 days after that, on 27th August but a much stronger band on 31st August. Technically the embryo is only about 15 days old today, but medically it is already just over 4 weeks. Doctors start counting from the first day of the last period, in my case, 31st July.

im still in shock and feeling surreal as i write this...becos my no1 is just 10months old.
not sure if i am ready for no2 but nonetheless i am happy that im blessed with her/him.

^5 all mummies to be.. I just tested BFP yesterday and last menses is 31-Jul. This is my 3rd child. My 1st and 2nd are girls and 2 yrs apart. Given birth to my 2nd girl via e c-sec Aug 2014. EDD should be 06-May based on last period. Now should be 4 wks+ preggy. Most likely be going back to Dr Benjamin Tham from TMC.

Congrats to all mummies to be. I got a BFP last week too. First day of last menses was 29th July. Seen tcm on sat n he confirm I'm going into 5th week now. Edd is 4th may 2016. This is my first and I'm so excited but worried too. I was still hesitating to announce as not stable yet. Any experience mum here can share what shld we do to smoothly get through the first trimester?

Found out about pregnancy cause i broke out in hives and went from doctor to doctor thought it was allergy until found out it was due to me being pregnant. Besides the itching, all is well and am pretty excited cause its my first.

Hi 1st time mummies,
start by taking 1 tablet of folic acid everyday which you can buy at unity pharmacy.
Avoid carry heavy things or exercise that use stomach muscle
Avoid caffeine/alcohol drinks
Avoid raw food
Make appt with gynae which he/she will only see you when you are 7-8wks.
Morning sickness should hit when you are about 5-6wks.
Take small frequent meals 5-6x throughout the day instead of large 3 meals.
If feel giddy/dizzy, you can take vitamin B which gynae will prescribe to you soon.

Hi I'm only seeing gyane 2 weeks later which is at week 7, is it too late? Saw some went to see gyane as early as week 4. It's worrying me as I want to know how is little beanie doing inside and I'm not having any morning sickness at all. Only gets tried and hungry easily and also frequent toilet visits. I'm currently at week 5, is it too early to have morning sickness? Without morning sickness dun makes me feel pregnant, am I being too paranoid?

Some lucky mummies do not have morning sickness but for my past 2 experiences usually it will strike after 5 wks then stop during 2nd trimester and comes back again during 3rd trimester. Every pregnancy is different.
Checkup is done about 7-8wks only because if scan at 5-6wks can only see sac. Need come back again to check for heartbeat. Upon confirm its a viable pregnancy. Checkup only done once a mth until 3rd trimester where it becomes 3 weeks then 2 weeks and weekly till birth. If there is no bleeding/cramps, its not necessary to go so early.

Thanks minakochang for the assurance. So my gyane visit 2 weeks later shld be able to check for heartbeat? I guess now I can't do much except to wait. Without major symptoms, sometime I will forget I'm pregnant, except for the increase in appetite which shock my husband.

Hi Loylipop, no morning sickness yet. Fingers crossed that will not have. Just tired and feeling bloated. Taste and smells have changed though. Can't stand smell of fish and some of my fav foods are a turn off. No nausea just strong dislike.

Last time I see my gynae at week 4, coz I need to get pre-natal vitamins from him. He only scanned me to check the size of the endometriotic cysts. Didn't do vaginal scan, as he said by then, the bean was still too small, so unlikely he would be able to see anything.
He next saw me at what was supposed to be my week 6, though beanie only measured 5 weeks and 5 days, so he asked me to go back for scan the following week.

Actually, most Chinese people, especially the older generations, believe not to break the pregnancy news until after the first trimester, like what celebrities Joanne Peh and Qi Yu Wu did; as some of the older generations are very superstitious, they believe that there is a fetal God, that some babies are very picky when compared with others. So normally the only person you can tell is your own parents, not even the in-laws, though some say can tell your closest friend, a few of them, but not the whole bunch of them. So I think safer to stick to this practice.

Congrats on your pregnancy!!!!!! For safety reasons, I think you better ring up your dental clinic and told them you are currently pregnant, coz most will advise that you see dentist for dental treatment only in the 2nd trimester, when bb is a lot more stable.

Btw actually I think I plan to see dr only 16 oct(11 weeks).
I think should be ok la coz too early also can't scan anything.
Think jus need take note of any signs and symptoms ( if got spotting den mus go see dr)
- btw I use Edd. Calculate its 2 may but coz mine is c sec so most likely will be last week of April.

yes ginny, i wanted to see gynae around 8 weeks or so. but gynae wanted to play safe, make sure that the sac is in the right place. not in the tubes

Hi all mummies to be, I'm exactly week 6 today. Starting to feel bloatedness and lost of appetite. Yesterday I was still having a big appetite and today totally the opposite. And feeling whole body ache too, like symptoms of fever approaching. Is this normal or is due to the haze? Anyone experiencing the same as me?
