Bravado nursing bras,
I have the original as well as the bodysilk. Bodysilk wins hands down in terms of comfort! A little more expensive but I wear them out all the time so cost per wear is actually very low. Compared to all the cheaper bras I've bought from bps, gmarket etc, bravado is so much more worth it cos of the comfort.
It's also one of the more presentable wireless nursing bras I've tried. With the padding it can almost pass off as a wired bra.
Btw if you are Asian sized B cup, the bravado bliss nursing bra in B/C size is too big! I wasted money on that one cos simply cannot fit! I gave it to my sil who is more well endowed.

I am using PISA and it still works very well after 3 yrs! My colleague who delivered in Sep 2012 bot Avent but the motor kept breaking down, and she had to send it for servicing couple of times, until eventually she demanded a full refund from the company. Having used both, her opinion is also that PISA is more powerful suction, so she has higher milk yield from PISA.

I find the underwire bras very uncomfortable, esp as time passes and boobs get more engorged with milk.

Hehe any mummies have confirmed will close shop already after having this baby? Hubby and I agree that we are not considering nor ruling out having #3, will depends on how well we can cope w the first 2.... So wondering if should keep/give away/sell maternity clothes and also clothes that #2 will outgrow....

Bdmummy, I confirm close shop after having baby #3.. as gynae was out of town when I delivered, I did not ask for ligation.. Will ask hubby to consider vasectomy instead.. Haha.. Gynae also not encouraging me to have baby #4 as I was suddenly diagnosed with preeclampsia for this pregnancy.. So, if I got pregnant again, the risk will be higher..

maddog, I have a swing, avent dbl electric n Pisa.. n I like Pisa the most.. suction is good n also for avent there is only one shield size so if you have bigger nipples then it will hurt..

advantage of avent is u can control ur own speed to stimulate the let down n I think the flower padded thing is not bad but compare to Pisa I still think Pisa is more effective in extracting milk..

i think nipples need time to toughen up again, even though its the second time... esp if they are cracked the first few days, will be abit painful. So I used the lanolin cream. But after the first week, I didnt have any much pain anymore (pain score 1/10 at most). If i feel its too shallow (like pulling on the nipple), I just adjust by pushing more areola into the mouth. then i listen and watch for nice loud gulping to tell me the baby is drinking well!

Keep it up! I take my hat off to all the mummies with 3 kiddies!

U use the binder that the massage lady provide or u get ur own binder?
Any mummies dye hair or do rebonding when still breast feeding? Will the chemical transmit to the breastmilk? Do we need to throw away the breast milk for that day?

Jos, I did not on aircon during confinement.. Was like in a sauna for 2 hours.. Sweat like mad.. That's how I lost my water retention within a short period..

Aspialle.. sigh.. I also don't know how to explain. Basically, our helper has been with us for 2+ years. She has proven through time that she is very sensible and reliable. She's very disciplined and systematic and we treat her more like a housekeeper. As such, we've also treated her as part of the family. She eats with us on the same table etc etc. She has abit of OCD.. in that she needs the house to be very neat, tidy and clean. She's constantly cleaning up even when we tell her to take a break. She helps me do stuff that I never ask her to do, like check the kids' schoolbag and on her day off, she comes back early, goes out late. Honestly, I've never met a helper who goes out late and comes back early!

The reason why she said she didn't want to go my mum's house is that she was afraid she cannot cope with the housework since she will have only the nights to clean the house. So in the sense, I trust her quite a fair bit... I'm still undecided.. sigh..

LM, I know what you mean... I bought a maidenform bra and it was so uncomfortable.. plus it was a tad too big for a modest cup A like me! Such a waste of money. So, now I live off my Bravado bras. I will consider the BodySilk!

Maddog, I'm a fan of the Avent Manual. I like it that it doesn't require power and I can control the suction.

Moshimaro, my pain threshold is almost zero. But thanks for your encouragement. Ya know, everything I pass by a poster in the hospital which shows a mother breastfeeding, looking so lovingly at the baby, so serene and contented, I want to swear, because in reality, that's not the case. Haha...

Hi all, bb full month celebration had ended at last!
Bb was so tired tat he doesn't Wana wake up for his feed at 5.20pm. He didn't sleep well while the guests are ard...

I think I hv more or less decided to stop feeding breast milk. My cracked nipple hasn't heal till now ( 1 mth le) and its still bleeding on n off... This coz b unable to pump long, can't build up the supply at all and PAIN.. Besides medication, I can use cold cabbage to decrease the supply? Will it coz the breast to shrink like medication? I took medication to stop the last time n find tat breast seems smaller..

By the way, mummies who are latching on might want to consider buying "my brest friend" breast feeding pillow. I thought it was just an overpriced cushion but after trying it, I must say it really makes positioning and latch on easier. Don't bother with cheapskate c-shaped "breast feeding pillows"they sell elsewhere.

It's a curse... It's really hard for me to get bras... With that said, I always have to make do with the closest possible size, which I can put my breasts in. :-(
I'm now getting my bras from this brand "CHANGE" located at Cluny Court. The lady boss is really helpful. She even helped place order for my size and ship in the nursing bra for me. But because the best size that fits me is still not my size, I am looking for alternative.

I hope he can drink more milk - ard 120ml every 3 hr lei but after 90ml he no longer interested to drink or will doze off! Mummies any way to stretch the time Between feeds from 2 to 3 hr besides giving pacifier?

Hi mummy,

May I know long do u latch yr BB? Frequency ? My BB only latch like 15mins on 1 side n he fall asleep. Ard another 1 or 2 hrs will hungry agn. I wonder normal? Cos he seems doesn't drink much. But sometimes would latch quite frequent in 1 hr which can be quite tiring. My mil insist BB is not full n ask to give FM. Can be quite frustrated to hear that when say BB not full from yr bf.

We giving BB FM too since he got jaundice n have to review in another 2 weeks. But I gave fm the most 2 times per day n rest feed BF. Once after jaundice lower n doesn't have to go back review I will start to full feed BM. So need advice from mummy before I prepare for full BM.

I bought from BP here 2 yrs ago. But now gmarket and allemom also carries them. Previously I heard the first few years had them at their shop in novena, but all this is 2yrs old news. Not sure about now. Wahh u all very feng1 man3 ah! Cup size wise bliss nursing bra has a much larger cutting. B/C is more like our C++. Original is the tightest esp for the band. Would not recommend original if you're not small chested. I think bliss might have been the closest to a wired bra but I couldn't fill it out so can't comment.

As for how the bodysilk performs, must manage expectations ya? It's not a wired bra for sure but with the pads its smooth enough and looks like a t-shirt bra. Support wise, it's adequate for my B cup. You can check out amazon for reviews by other mums. Some are quite well endowed also and they seem to be ok with it.

If you need the larger sizes from USA can order from amazon or other nursing sites then go through vpost to ship here. Or join an amazon spree.

I'm tempted to order another bra! The first nude one I bought is wearing out after 2 yrs of service.

Wondering whether to give pacifier, bb seems just wan to suckle and not to drink milk.. If I switch to full pumping BM and not latch, don't know if my supply will drop further.

I have switched to full pumping, supply did not drop, in fact, it has increased slightly prob coz I keep to more of less consistent timing of pumping every 4 hrs. Each pump is able to get 2 feeds worth - coz my boy feeds every 2 hrs. Saves me some time by pumping vs latching.

For latching, KKH lc advises that min 15 min, max can up up to 45 min, so long as baby still wants to suckle. But impt to fully drain 1 side first before giving baby the other side. Then next feed you can off the other side i.e. rotate.

My boy had jaundice too. He used to fall asleep when suckling so drink very little if I latch him on. Plus he can latch up to 45min each time! So I decided to switch to exclusive pumping so that I can monitor his intake to ensure he really drinks enough in order to clear the jaundice and that works for me.

Aiyoh, very wasted if you prepare 120ml and baby drinks only 60ml hor... bm so precious wor... may be can put into 2 bottles of 60ml for feeding.

Am busy managing to up my supply thou mostly supp with fm..never latch and supply is miserable like 40-60 ml per pump after 4-5 hrs interval.. started to take fenugreek...

Confinement
Heard that we have to rest on bed often to prevent bad ache etc.. find it hard cos need to settle #1 needs ..

Plus can't wash hand often if not wind and dampness will get into our bone and cause ache in future ..
For me, I still wash #1 bottle and pacificer

Having read all the comments on Bravado nursing bra, am so tempted to buy the Body Silk one coz i prefer some padding. Afterall we wear it for so long daily! esp the Body Silk range!

Hard to keep lying on bed lei, I only sleep during the night (in between pumping and feeding #2) and try to take a 2 hr nap during the day. But I do apply ginger cream on the lower back and abdomen, hopefully that will help prevent/dispel wind etc. Even harder not to touch water coz am washing all the pump parts and bottles etc myself lor.

thanks mummies on the guide.. I increased the amount to 80ml today n he managed to finish it.. n dragged feeding to 2.5 hrs from 2..

regarding latching, mine will take 30 mins on one side then fall asleep, v difficultl To wake him up then I in dilemma whether to pump the other breast or wait for him to wake up(which can be anytime)..

to be honest I also think pumping will yield more supply coz we are more consistent with the frequency.. if not because I wanna bond n lazy to wash pump/bottle/feed n don't wanna bring so many barang barang when gg out, I would pump also..

Bdmummy, ya.. Heart pain lor.. Wasted a lot of milk.. I'm not sure whether to put in 2 bottles cos not all the time is 60ml.. Btw, my bb's jaundice is back.. The last visit with the PD is cleared.. But this time, back again.. PD said it is common if bb is breastfed.. Hmm.. But, PD said not to be a concern cos slight only.. But, PD told me to avoid dairy products cos baby's tummy got wind.. Sigh..
