BB Alva - oh i also put in pork loin. its the part that has totally no fats. 
no need to put any seasoning its really nice!
Joanne - i dont know how ur cordyceps are like but mine are already in bundles there are some that are sold loose. so i usually just take one bundle which i think have got like 3-4 cordyceps inside. wash that and wolfberries, then i put the cordyceps and wolfberries at the bottom followed by the pork loin on top. this way it will get absorp if not they will be floating around. then just it double boil
actually it really depends on your own body cause its said to be "heaty". i slowly start off 2 weeks once. if your body doesnt show signs of heatiness, you can try take it once a week and slowly 2 times a week.
but my bird nest im trying to take once every day as mine is the concentrated one. under Lo Hong Ka. cause this one cant keep it expires within 1 month! so cant keep!

diamondfericia, my first gynae also at paragon..I spent 3kplus for check up due to my spotting n cramp in early pregnancy...my package was $700+, only can start after detailed scan..not including vitamins..but he is a good gynae..tis time round I choose d gynae near my place, good n cheap! hehe..

I took mine at $600 too exclude medicine. i have booked for the Mt A hopsital tour in 2 wks time. Shall compare. My gynae prefer TMC..so we shall see how.
Denise, I heard its not good to take bird nest every day. Maybe yours is teaspoon so shd be okie.For Brewed one, keep to once a mth, if take too much..bb will have asthma.

morning mummies,
i went for my scan at 16wk 2 days yday, but gynae commented bb a bit big, shows 17 wks on the screen haha...
it's 80-90% going to a prince #2 too haha, hubby is disappointed but also quite expected cos his family are male dominated hahaha...
for #1 in 2010, i also stayed at Mt A single bedded, induced delivery (normal + epi), paid cash abt $2.6k, medisave also abt 2.6k

E tan - the brewing one for the cordyceps are suppose to be good for baby lungs? how often to take i mean that wld depend on indivdual body

Denise, i think it is better to cook your own birdnest than take the concentrated one. firstly, the raw one does not have expiry date and secondly, you can be creative as to what you like to put inside while controlling the sugar level.
We all mummies should really shop around for all the nests and herbs huh..can be quite expensive

I started on my tonic stuff 2 weeks ago at week 18.
I had the chicken essence (鸡精) – using double boil method. Use a kampong chicken and add some wolfberries and red dates, boiled for 3 hours to extract the essence and drink.
Last week, I had the bird nest (bought from ZZP) – double boil with paosheng and rock sugar for 1 hr.
Last night, I took the cordyceps and ginseng (bought from ZZP) – cooked using slow cooker for 1 hr with pork loin, red dates and wolfberries.
Having red date tea once a week.
Intend to rotate having the tonic – 1 type every week.

Joanne: The instruction to boil 1 hr was as given by the medical hall pple -ZZP - where we bought the bird nest from. I think longer abit doesnt matter bah.
Rock sugar - add a bit, if you prefer sweeter then add a bit more for the taste.
I used 1 pc of bird nest and it gives 1 bowl. I finished everything.
For the red dates tea, I have added honey date too (蜜枣). Some others put dang shen as well but I didnt. Its quite easy to prepare, just wash and dump these ingrdients into a pot or slow cooker till boiled and the color of the tea turns brown.
My colleague told me another easy method, that is to put all these ingredients into a thermal flask and add hot boiling water, leave it overnight and can drink the next day. I tried but dun find the tea very strong and fragrant. Prefer to brew. Hope this helps

Your gynae should have but again, not all gynae have an antenatal package.

Mummydee, if you have relatives flying to US, you can ask them to get Fiber Choice from Walmart or target. It is fiber n won't cause diarrehae. Just helping naturally to make it easily to pass motion. I trained my hb to hv good habit of every day doing business using it. It taste terrific too. Though we don't need it now, I still keep a few bottles at home. When I pregnant my first, I took a few times when it is dryer. Drink lots of water n start ur first meal of the day with fruits. It helps.
