you can apply kodomo lotion powder or california baby calendula cream on those areas. Our weather v humid, moisture accumulate under the folds of their chubby skin, become red red. Everynight before I put my son to bed I will wipe him down then alternate between applying these 2. Seems to work, under his neck used to be quite red, even had pimples there! Nw alot better!

 


Mummies, can i ask when can we start giving our baby cereal? my mum says when they are 3months old we can mix abit of cereal into their milk and let them start drinking so they can get use to it. any mummies has tried it?



I went polyclinic and the nurse ask me not to do that yet. their disgesting systems is still not strong yet. so ask me to start at 6months wor.

as we work in & out, to make ends meet or for a better life, I think it's gd to stop or slow down our pace to care for the less fortunate. Felt happy when the pastor who runs the orphanage told me that baby Angelo was better after taking my bm. At least I can do sth for him. Probably we are not wealthy to donate lots of money for them to buy better things for the kids but we can give what we can [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif] time, love or care, for them to know that love still exist in this world [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

Wow.. everyone's so advanturous bringing baby overseas. I should buck up and get baby a passport so I can fit in a trip before going back to work.



Charleen, my baby's poo is as liquidy as ever but ever since I moved to pump and feed her poo seems to acquire a sourish smell. Previously it was "sweet smelling" or at least not unpleasant. Wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that expressed milk is less fresh even though I always give it to her within an hour of pumping without refridgerating and reheating.

 
I discover this funny thing about my girl. If i let her latch whole day, the next day usually she will not poo.



But if i give her those frozen BM, she will poo the other day. Any mummies experience something like that?

Advised needed... How does your baby indicate that they have enough milk?? Will thy reject when they had enough??? Currently my boy is bottle feed... He is 3 Month old n is drinking 140ml. But recently, he asked for more. When offered more his stomach will be bloated. Got scolded by my mil for offering too much milk to him.... Any mummies can advise me???

What is the ideal time to let baby sit in a bumbo seat? Am so tempted to buy one so that my 4 mth old can sit up for awhile to look around and keep herself entertain for awhile. Plus is there anywhere that I can buy the original bumbo seat at the lowest price? Currently saw at $68.

Hi! i m new to this forum and new to being a mother too. My baby is currently about 3 months and he just had his DPT 5 in 1 vaccine. He has been really cranky lately and has not been drinking much milk. Any mothers experience this with their babies after the vaccine?



And also he has been licking and 'eating' his fingers so i m not sure if his crankiness and loss of appetite is due to teething too... thanks!!

Need your advice. My BM supply is not very good, so I'll put my EBM in the fridge instead of freezer. But I'm gg overseas soon and wanna bring some of my BM along. Can I transfer those EBM (stored for 2-3 days) in the fridge to the freezer?

Hi Huiwen, my baby had taken three vaccinations so far. She had fever after her second second jab n refused to drink milk. D third dose was taken together with the second dose which was oral. However, she was cranky after all d vaccinations n was all right the next day. My baby also had been licking her fingers lately.. I m not sure whether is due to teething or not. Mayb some experienced mummies can advice as I m also a new mum.

From what I know so long as the baby can support it's head then can sit on bumbo. My brother bought one for my girl and we let her sit for a while when she's going 3 mths.

Just let her sit on it a while and she seems happy.

I just bought a bumbo seat without the front table at $55 hope baby likes it haha.



Another question, is it normal that baby to drink lesser? I don't know why mine is drinking lesser and lesser.

 
i bought a bumbo too and kinda regret cos my baby's thighs seem too large for it. he get stuck in it. mummies who want to buy should let bb try first. mine was sleeping when i bought it. its good though cos mine like to sit upright.

My baby also needs a shave, not becuz his hair is long but becuz he's balding! Haha. Didn't shave him during the first mth and now his baby hair is dropping off in patches, looks so funny, the bald parts v shiny too. Think I will check out the shop at suntec too.

Siu Suet, EBM stored in fridge should be consumed within 24 hours, if not have to throw away already.If you don't use the EBM for the day you have to store in freezer.

According to pd yesterday, my bb is teething too. Showed us the hard ridge along her lower gum n can see the rough shape of her teeth. DunnO what it means when they teeth so early. He checked only when I mentioned that she drools a lot now.



Drooling n bibs,

I want to buy bibs now. Only just realized that I have so many hand me down clothes but not a single bib among them! Is it advisable to get the one with plastic backing or without? is this a personal preference? Any pros n cons to them?

My bb's hair is also very slow to grow. Resorted to applying liquor on the bald spots. Will try olive oil next.

Pd sId that after the first jab most mummies report a slowdown n reduction in amt of feeding. It's normal. Even though I know she's taking in less now but dunno why I keep making/reheating the same amt. Seems like she takes so little now. But pd also said don't force if bb doesn't want, can lead to rejection of bottle.

Hi Cel, thks for sharing your exp [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif] i went to google and the websites say babies will exp mild fever, irritability and loss of appetite after the DPT 5in1 vaccine, think that explains why my baby refused to drink milk that day.. now he is drinking abit more but still lesser than his usual intake..



sigh babies are really unpredictable, sometimes ended up throwing away the milk cos he dunwan to drink anymore and sometimes not enough for him to drink =X

luckymummy, my boy drools alot till his bib is entirely wet...could it be he's teething too? :S



But I used my finger to feel his gum but no hard ridges and nothing protruding.



I have quite a numbers of bibs but with no plastic backing. Now wondering whether to get those with plastic backing cos when the bib becomes very wet it wets his top too.

take a queue no on the extreme right side of wall and wait for no to be called. my hubby carried my son during the cut. he like to watch tv so the cartoon made him sit very still.



i had to shave mine cos he is dropping a lot of hair. i hope his hair grow quickly....

Also, my boy also drool alot...is it due to teething? But during 2nd month, the pd said bb still dunno how to swallow saliva, so will all oozing out....

yup it's very hard to gauge how much she's going to take at every feed, sometimes she gulps down 150 in no time, sometimes stops at 90. Especially sian if she wastes my EBM...

I don't think mine has other symptoms besides drooling...eating her hands?! That happens a lot now. I discovered there is no point in wearing mittens now since she soaks them through within 5mins of putting on a fresh pair. Soggy mittens are disgusting! I'm not sure, but the hard ridge along the gum didn't really appear like teeth forming to me until the PD pointed it out...then suddenly it looks just like teeth! haha I don't know how much of it is "xin li zuo yong"..



If the drool soaks through to the top below then I guess it makes sense to get plastic backing. Just wondering if it takes longer to dry.



Is there such a thing as sizing for bibs?? To accommodate different neck sizes?

think the TV thing is up to you. If you are comfortable with it, you are the mummy and have the largest say! I don't want to start TV if possible, but I sometimes use it for a while as a distraction when she's cranky. Full time at home is hard to constantly find things to amuse her.



baby monitor,

Anyone using this? Which brand and type is good? I want to move baby out of my room and into her own. Worried about noisy feedback and static (like bad radio reception) so considering the digital type.



medela milkbag,

I have an open box of medela milkbags to let go at reduced price. Not exactly sure how many pieces there are, but it's clean and totally untouched as I don't pump outside much and my supply doesn't justify using one whole bag per pump.

regarding BB drinking less.. i brought my boy to the PD yesterday for his vaccination.. he says that babies after 3-4 mths will begin to slow down their milk intake.. they will drink about 30% lesser than before, weight gain will also be slower.. he says for babies after 3-4 mths, this is the formula to calculate how much milk to feed them..



(100ml x baby's weight) / # of feeds per day

 

puix, i bought the bjorn when son is about 2-3month old and i like it. after that, i got a beco carrier as well but bjorn is easier to put on then beco. my son is close to 9kg and if i walk for some time, my back will ache - note that my bjorn is the synergy one with good back support. my back still ache.



if you do not mind, SMH has a few mothers selling second hand. i bought mine second hand cos i dun see the need to spend full price.
