(2010) TTC-ing for 2010 BabySsss!!! Come On! <IMG SRC="http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard

my gynae oso same clinic as joscelyn Wong, but he don't need to wait so long to visit lei.. i jus call and make the appt the date i wan. strange.. why female one got waiting list one lei?? btw, mine is male gynae.

re swimming;
always try to bring my DS to private pool. got a few friends live in condos. when wanna go swim will try go there pl. haha.. so far i only bring my DS for 1 swim. he seems to enjoy it.

agree that parking at TMC is horrible but i think it's the same for most hosp - Mt A, Glen E...

My #1 was delivered at Mt A - also tough parking (but I liked the nurses!). I go Glen E occasionally to see PD, and the lifts to the clinics are SOOO slow...

yang
my #1 was oso deliver in MtA.. like the environment.. hehe..esp auto upgrading to 2bedded when i book 4bedded.. n i was all alone in tat ward til discharge day..then got another mummy come in.. hee

Redtea
haha.. i oso sneak into OCC to swim once in a while.. there not so crowded n Free.. keke

Yang
ya.. time most of us are having our #2.. someone with #3 rite.. who ah.. raise hand pls.. hehe

wah, so many of you thinking of changing for #2. My gynae price also increased and now become more exp from exp
sad.gif
haiz...

yah yah, although there are so many lifts at GlenE, the lifts are SOOOO slow...cannot tahan leh. keep hearing the ding dong, ding dong, but never see any lift door open. can get quite fedup...hahah! but my gynae and PD are tied to GlenE, so bo bian
sad.gif

Dr Jocelyn Wong from TMC really that good ar? hhmm...how's her charges like? Anyone any idea?

bena,

i also am 'tied' to Glen E now. really like my son's PD so might as well deliver #2 at Glen E also, if not very troublesome for me next time.

But u are right, the lifts are just horrendous! esp during peak period. My gynea is at #3-00 and very often, end up not even being able to get into the lift as it is full from the higher floors.

lil, yah yah. mine is at 8-flr...from the carpark, every flr also will stop
sad.gif
sometimes if i take from the ground flr, i end up taking the lift that is going to the carpark then go up again, else wait at ground flr forever no space to squeeze in. Especially when the tummy gets bigger, scared to squeeze with ppl :p

my hubby also complain abt the parking in TMC, seems perpetually full..and i don't like the idea of valet parking also..

But i told him i insist on female gynae, and my aunt's recommendation was only dr yvonne chan.
my aunt's mid-wife at KKH for donkey years. So i trust her..haha..so no choice and bear with the parking at tmc..

I did consider Mt Alvernia, and my aunt recommended Dr Ho. But he's a male gynae so it's no no for me...
I don't like the idea of males looking and touching at my pte parts..except my hubby lah...

re TMC parking,
we will park at the HDB carpack and walk over. got to climb the overhead bridge lor.. abit of walking. sometime i wish they can extend the bridge direct to the TMC carpark, so that we do not hv to climb dn again and walk up a slope to get to the hospital..

Hi, Mummies and Mummies to be

Have been MIA for awhile and saw so much postings. This thread has been alive again.. :p

I will like to seek advice from mummies who are trying for no. 2. Can I know how old is your no. 1 and how are you intending to juggle between the two? I have always wondered how to..My first baby is 9mth old now and if I am pregnant now, first baby will be 18mths when I deliver.. how to cope?

cladi, quite sian when office is no longer in a convenient location hor?

gisele, Lisa Chin is not bad. What i like is she doesn't tell me things to scare me. Like i was alittle diabetic during the pregnancy but she didn't think it was out of control so she didn't tell me. :p and she never told me that the umbilical cord was around the fetus neck cos she knows that it's normal. But you have to ask questions lor. Otherwise she will not volunteer much cos she knows our generation of mummies are extremely well-read. I have friends whose gynae will tell them such stuff and not reassuring at all.

I rem the last time we were at Gleneagles, my hubby will drop me off first so that I can go upstairs to the clinic to wait while he goes searching for parking spot. We also don't like TMC's parking problem.

emmie,

thanks for the info on lisa chin. She sounds pretty good. in fact she and Dr.tan han yang were the stand in gyneas when I delivered. But Dr.Tan was the one who delivered my boy in the end.
happy.gif

U're right abt too much info. my gynea, Dr.Chan also does not volunteer too much info. Always tell me not to worry too much as my pregnacy was going smoothly. He said he would tell me to look out for things only if baby was not growing well etc. If not, just relax and take it easy.

recently when I take my boy to GlenE for check up or doctor visits, i've had to resort to valet parking as he hates car rides and cannot tahan while i circle around the carpark waiting for parking lots. If not, I will opt for morning appointments, then have more chance to easily find parking.

Lc
my #1 is goin 22mths by the time this #2 is born.. i intend to send him to childcare.. at 18-19mths.. let mil take a rest b4 #2 arrive. mean time train #1 adapt to childcare oso..

Emmie
harno.. wat to do.. but my bosses very good.. so i stay lol..

LC, my #1 is now 3 YO. I did purposely delay cos I prefer a bigger age gap. Then starting ttc for 6 months but not very serious. only recently then got worried and did more calculations.

If all goes well, #1 will be 4 YO when #2 arrives and it should be managable. My ILs are helping me at home.

But now i also dread the process ahead - cos i hv already kept all the bb equipment (steriliser etc) & 'forgot' abt lotsa things.

Guess on one hand, it's good to have 2-3 year gaps, it may be better to hv #2 earlier before you adjust too much already. :p

LC, my #1 is 32 months and I only intend to start trying after Jun'09 so that she'll be 4/5 by the time #2 is born. I don't think i can handle if their age is too close...too tiring and I also want to spend more time with #1 before I have #2.
Actually Hubby and I wanted to stop at 1, but parents are encouraging us to have 1 more.

For your case, by the time you deliver, #1 will be 18-months...can send your #1 to the child care already.

I started sending my ger to enrichment class (playgroup) when she turns 18 months...for her to mix with other kids. GOod for their learning development
happy.gif

Bena
i was a bit cant decide whether to let shawn go cc so young.. ppl say scare he got negelected.. or he cant express himself well yet.. n easy to get sick..

u thk good to send child to cc so young??

Cladi, i din send my ger to CC. The one i send her is more of enrichment playgrou class which is only 1.5hrs a day. My ger likes to mix with other kids so we let her try out this playgroup.

We sent her to MMI. I think it's very impt to go checkout the place, see the condition, etc. Her class has only 6 classmates and 2 teachers + 1 helper aunty takes care of these 6 kids...so I am not so worried about being neglected. Maybe child care will be different cos there are usually more kids, less teachers
sad.gif

In fact, we see a lot of development for my ger. She learnt a lot and she loves going, so we continued to let her go
happy.gif

If you don want to send your boy for the daily classes, you can choose 2, 3 or 4 days a week for a start. Charges vary depending on how many days u opt for.

wah, really alot of posting! My ofc server down the whole day! Just managed to login nia... Cladi, Shawn is 1 mth, 1 day older than Kayla.

I think its better to send to CC at 18mths, they learn more in a sense. Gd and bad ba...

jaspire
i oso tot so.. learn more then stay at home k kick ball every day rite.. haha

Bena
i intend to let him go GUG in jun.. but duno i can tahan the lesson with him ma.. can b tiring for parent.. mayb ask hubby go lesson with him.. while i can go shopin.. haha

Cladi, GUG? What is that? Yeah, if you worried abt your boy not being able to adapt, should start him with these weekend classes.

How long is the lesson? I agree sometimes these lessons are more stressful for the parent than the kid :p But they are very good bonding sessions!

cladi, bena : GUG is growing up gifted - a playschool at Novena Sq. got weekends and also weekday class.

my boy attended the weekend class when he was around 1.5 - 2 YO. 1 parent must also go in. I started him there so he can get used to school environment. each class is 1.5 hour i think. Not bad lah, but after 2 terms, i find the contents are repeated - so i stopped. cos why pay so much & i must still be present. then i let my kid attend neighbourhood playground - good & cheap. hehe!

GUG = growing up gifted

lesson abt 1hr 15min.. accompany by one parent.. shawn like the trial lesson.. but cos i got exam coming up.. tat y i delay til after exam then sign him up for a term.. hope he will like it..

time to go home..

weather is bad.. so dark here.. guess goin to rain any time..

long long journay back home..
Bye ladies.. enjoy ur wkend.. hoping for more gd news next wk

Hi, Bena and Cladi

My boy is now in a infant centre actually.
happy.gif
My worry is how am I going to carry him to the centre when I am with a big tummy. I dun drive and will need to take cab and so so. I realise some responses from the mummies here to my queries are quite similar as in the gap is actually not very close..

and re: GUG, I am going tomorrow with my boy
happy.gif
for a trial only. So coincidental that you ladies bring up.. maybe our boys can be school mates..
happy.gif

Yang - since your boy attended GUG, do you think it is advisable for a 9mth old boy to join in?

Oic...novena sq got sooo many different classes for kids
happy.gif
I send my ger to shichida. she likes it a lot too
happy.gif
and same as GUG, 1 parent must attend the class.

LC, maybe you can buy those light-weight strollers, so your boy can sit while u push him...or maybe try and find a CC nearer to your place?

Cladi, bye bye. see you next week!

LC, there were 2 types of classes : for below 18mth, and then above 18mths.

my kid spent 1 term in the first type - that time he was 17 months & was the biggest in the class. i saw some parents with young babies - still must carry in arms, not walking yet. I think it is still too young, cos they cannot pay much attention nor participate actively.

hmm, i think maybe 9 months is still too young? One feature of GUG is they teach zoophonics but i think 9 months, the child is still not talking much yet? other parts of lesson include art & craft and music (which would be fun for your boy).

u could go for trial & see how. i also went for trial at MyGym when my boy was around 1YO. It was fun cos it's more physically - got swings, slide etc. wanted to sign up but couldn't get a suitable slot then. maybe u'll like to check that too.

Thanks,Bena. This is something I have in mind too - to buy a light weight stroller and myabe request for the IFC to allow me to park the stroller there.. I guess I am being paranoid and worrying too much..

Hi, Yang

Thanks for the feedback. i will go to take a look cos I sign out for the trial class today.

Another good news! Congrats coolangel!

Hi Ladies,

My menses is alrdy 2 days late, but afraid to test, cause i had 2 miscarriages before. The thought of being pregnt makes me feel blessed, but on the other hands my bad experiences still haunted me. Wonders if anyone has the same experience and the 3rd time round is a smoothly sailing one. Care to share.

my sil has two miscarriage before... now she is blessed with a healthy bb ger..but throughout her pregnany, quite unstable.. got to visit gynae for some injection to stablise her pregnancy...

if u r pregnant, think try to see ur gynae fast... coz u have previous history.. they will be in better position to advise u...

all the best.

Hi, yang

My boy din really enjoy the trial class
sad.gif
CanI have the contact details for My GYM?

Hi, Angel baby

Welcomed and congats!! How many weeks are you aleady? Seen a gynae.. Baby dust to all TTC-ing mummies here ya..

Hi, Blueberrypie

Can understand how you feel.. I had miscarriage before too and its was abt 5weeks ba and on my birthday.. and it drop out by itself..very sad.. but I learnt that spoilt pregnancy is very common.. Be brave and test.. If positive, then as Linda& Lawrence's advice, go see a gynae.. They do have soemthing to stablise baby if need be..Good Luck ya..

Hi!

Joining for the first time! Got confirmed positive news i'm around 5 weeks on, expected EDD 10 Jan 2010! =D

My gynae is Adrian Woodworth from TMC-cck.Very reasonable package, but he talks like a train. haha!

Btw, did any of you experience backache so early in the pregnancy? I've been feeling very tired, walked much slower than before, and have also been having difficulty sleeping as back aches. @_@. Wonder is it my own imagination..It's a bit too early in the pregnancy for all these symptons right?

audrey, congrats. My edd is just 2 days away from you but i got backache too. i wonder why also. I'm super tired, so have to end up sleeping my when DS sleeps.

Somedays i just put everything behind. No matter how horrible i feel, just dont think abt it and play with my DS, it def helps
happy.gif

blueberry, i also advice you to go see a gynae asap if you test positive. You can take meds to stablise the pregnancy
happy.gif
Wish you all the best.

Linda,
think in the past, the test kits not so advanced, so that's y MIL say CD40 then can test. haha..these days shudn't be that way...

nope didnt continue to take temp..only took for those 3 days last week when i felt feverish and the temp were all 37 - 37.1 deg.

Anyway i tink i won't hv good news..looks like AF is here..not too sure also..tinking of calling gynae tmr for a appmt to chkup..

LC,
may i ask how u know u had a miscarriage at 5 weeks? so early? what are the symptoms of a miscarriage?
