(2009/12) December 2009 MTBs <IMG SRC="http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.g

Hi Josephine! I've seen Dr Lim. He is very experienced, detailed, patient and nice. He has prescribed duphaston for me too. He said 'an tai yao'. But the drawback is the wait is very long. For my last visit (which is also my first), I waited for 2.5 hrs.

Hi Pauline, I've updated the last according to the EDD. Thanks for taking the lead to come up with the list.

hi sunnydaz i thot there will be priority for preg ladies? so wat type of scan did he do for u? when is yr next visit?

Hihi Mummies, sorry to intrude.. im actually from the Aug 09 thread.

wonder if any of you ladies would like to go for the AQUA FITNESS class by KKH starting from 2 May 2009?

Commencement Date: Saturday, 02 May 2009
Time: 2.00 - 2.45 pm
Venue: Hydrotherapy pool, Rehabilitation Department, Basement 1, Children's Tower
Fee: $111.30 for a total of 4 sessions

The reason i need to give up the class is because now my gynae n the prof frm NUH order me to rest more n that i shld avoid all exercises since one of my twin is smaller. (she is slightly smaller nw..which is quite norm.. but juz to be save to avoid further difference in their sizes la). well, initially my gynae gave me the go-ahead to do some light exercises de...which is good for preggy ladies la... but since nw... so.... ya..

hence, if anyone interested, can pls PM me.. or can add me in MSN ([email protected]) to discuss on this pls?

also, I hv a new set of tankini from Motherhood (size L) to let go..

thanx~

hi everyone,

i tink most of us here are working mums. I am facing a dilemma of how to break the news to my company.
I have taken maternity leave last yr. My #1 is 1 yr old as of march 2009. Anyone having the same issue? Any idea how to best tell the news to boss?

Hi, sunnydaz, peachtree, think both of you posted shortly after each other so the latest list doesn't have sunnydaz's details. I've copied and pasted it here.

T mum, yah its quite hard actually. But for me my boss already know. For my type of job, must let them know way in advance. Else will jepordise everybody schedule. So more irresponsible for me if I keep any longer. But told my bposs to keep it low 1st as still very early. Tell him so he can do planning. For my 1st, easier. Gynae wrote a letter to ban me from going to live chicken slaughtering area and cos I have a few assignment to those places at that time. So just give the letter to my boss.

Yesterday till mow my rib cage is painful. Dun know why. Got no mood to work. Maybe see my schedule all pack back to back and so many office stuff for me to settle. So sian. Like no time to finish. Hormones changing I suppose

Hi hi mummies to be/mummies,

just dropping by to wish everyone of you to have a smooth pregnancy .... actually i am from the May 08 thread, just that i have got a cousin and a friend in this thread ... feeling excited for both of them, and all of you ! Take Care !

Hi Lileen,

I am planning to tell my boss perhaps next week after my appointment with gynae this sat. Hopefully it will not be a big hoo haa when i reveal the news to them. Fingers cross.

My side is the same as yours, will need a prpoer planning before anyone goes on long leave. Cos everyone is so tight with their own work.

For ur pain in ur rib cage, do take care .. did u carry heavy stuff? cos sometimes i do feel the starin even at this early stage if i stretched a little .. so do monitor the pain ..

T mum, so you have this problem too now? Heavy thing.... My boy lor. He is already 15kg at 2yrs old. And nowadays always want mummy bao bao.
Actually I felt very bad also. I just join tjis new company fpr abt 6mths and tell them this news. Faint liao. Futhermore dec is a peak period for us. Think I may not be taking 4mths ML straight. The previous round, only manage to take 1mth plus and return to work.

Yes i have tis prob too .. my #1 is one yr old but still carrying too long very straining .. i tink 1st trimester still unstable so dun tink can carry heavy things also .. last nite i had spotting dunno is it becos carry him too much over the weekend.

i also started work last yr at my co only den i took maternity leave in less than a yr, den now gg to haf #2 .. i tink spiltting up the 4months is the only way to minimise the effect ..

u mean now need to tell employer? no need to wait until the 12th weeks?
peachtree, ya my first preggie. me seeing tmc dr lim ah leng but havent seen him yet...

T mum, you better take good care and rest more ok.

Josephine, it really depends on yourself when you want to tell them. But dun need to wait for 3months lah. For what? Unless due to some old sayings and you are uncomfortable. Another reason is only if you just work in the company for less than 3 months loh. Then you need to worry if they will ask you to leave.

T mum, ya loh. The other time I show my boss the letter and then the next moment, everybody know.We got big mouth bosses:p

Josephine, my friend did vaginal scan but I opt out cause the experience was not very pleasant. (when I scanned for fibroid)The gynae will require you to drink lots of water before the scan if you want to do the normal ultra-sound scan. Vaginal scan is more accurate than ultra-sound scan, especially in the early weeks. But I was ok with ultra-sound cos the gynae said that there wasn't much fats in my tummy. lol...

I think my ms is getting worse though never merlion. Fatigue-- another problem. No mood for class today...
sad.gif

Pauline, I saw your blog. It is so sweet of you to keep a blog of your child. Mine ah, all jumble up. heehee.. It must be such nice memory when your child sees it in the future.

Anyway, do all of you ladie going to take epidural? I am considering to opt out of that though it's really pain.

The doc asked me to read the side effects of epidural when I had my 1st child. But I was already in great pain so I just signed whatever was handed to me. Anyone knows the side effects or complications of epidural?

Ainsley, thanks, yes, that's what kept me going. Hope she will be touched that Mummy logged her growing up phase.

My cousin very on, do so many scrapbooks for her kids, I know I can't lar, too lazy, so at least have a blog, not so guilty. When I was working full time, the only time I can blog is late at night after she slept lor. :p

Pauline, are you currently working part time? I am also planning to be SAHM also. It's quite a pity for me as I am now studying for my honors in Finance.... Thought I can strive for my career when I graduate this early Sept.
sad.gif
I used to take care of my elder daughter full time when I have not started my course and I realised we, as parents really cannot belittle and overlook small, little things in educating them.

Anyway, I am also currently self-studying some psychology and also child psychology books. The 2 books I recommend are "Parents do make a difference" by Michele Borba and "Children are from heaven" by John Gray. These 2 books are marvelous.

Josephine, I guess vaginal scan is not dangerous because many of them do that. The gynae said that if the baby is too small, ultra-sound scan is not able to detect so must do ultra-sound scan. But you can always opt out if you are not comfortable with it. Anyway, your baby will be 7 weeks by the time you see gynae so I think ultra-sound shouldn't be a problem.

Are you ladies taking epidural and Oscar test? Oscar test is very ex, don't know if I should take it.

ainsley, yah it wld be gd n fullfilling to be a sahm. If hubby hv the financial ability, i wld rather be a sahm. As for epi, will mst likely opt for it. Cos given my back prob, gynae also advice to take if i really want natural birth.. In fact even wif epi, it was not 100% eff too. If dun take halfway cannot push then worst. Emergency c section. As for oscar i opt out during 1st. Will opt out also unless the neck thickness test dun look gd. Anyway, the oscar is not 100% accuracy too. Guess u may want to look at many other factors to decide if u want to do it.

sugar,avocado, carrine,peachtree
congrats! welcome to the club!

carrine,
im staying in the east coast area but my gynae is in MT E.

lileen,
think yr rib cage is expanding due to the pregnancy.

ainsley,
i will take epidural. for my #1 i took it after trying with laughing gas after 2hrs but this time i will take it from the start. i did the Oscar test for the #1 too so i will do the same for #2.

jo,
i think if its before 3mths they will do the ultrasound via the vaginal cos the sac is small.

Ainsley, no I've quit my job in Feb so now SAHM. But nowadays keep putting my gal at ILs place cos initially I got spotting cos can't carry my gal then very difficult to look after her alone liao.

For the pregnancy ticker, if you click on my ticker, it will bring you to http://lilypie.com/ then all you need to do is click on "Expecting a baby" category at the top, then select a background, choose a ticker and input your EDD date and the ticker will automatically be customised. Then copy the html given and paste in your blog object.

How much did you ladies pay for the Oscar? Can scanning detect down syndrome?

I rem my gynae told me that I could skip the test when I had my #1 because based on my age, the possibility of having down syndrome is less than 1%. But I don't know about the increment of the % after 6 years though.

Lileen, what is neck thickness test? And I also have back problem actually. How will it affect?

ainsley, the neck thickness test is done through the ultrascan. They will measure the thickness of the back of neck. Cos drown syndrom bb hv thicker neck. But the accuracy level not as gd as oscar. As for back prob, i hv degenerated disc at l3, l4, l5, s1 and s2. My disc akso thinning, buldging n pressing on my nerve. Epi is done to so call numb these area. Since i already hv prob, the effect is not so gd. If urs is normal backache its ok. My only way to solve is to go for ops if i really cannot take it. So my type of backache is diff fm most already. My considered as back injury already. During my 1st, my pain is that bad till i cannot turn n move at nite while sleeping. U try to rest more n not strain ur back too much.

Lileen, your back must hv given you lots of trouble. I am already having backache now, especially in the morning when I wake up. Can't imagine when there are more strains as the baby gets bigger.

When is the neck thickness test done? As in, which week? My friend said that can also detect from the features of the baby when scanning. Is it true?

Do anyone have bloating? I am only 6 weeks+ but I feel that my tummy is kind of bloated. Quite uncomfortable.

Pauline, I went through the steps already but I can't seem to be able to do it in wordpress.
sad.gif

Ainsley, really ah? I thought it should work with any blogs. Really cannot ah? I don't use wordpress so can't advise. Did you see a sample of the ticker before you copy the html? If the ticker looks fine then should be ok wor... :p

i see liao.. Wordpress cannt leh. I think gtta pay if wana edit the css.
sad.gif
The ticker is soo cute. I tried to put it in facebook but it didn't appear.

Ainsley, wow, got to pay if using wordpress? A lot of Jan08 mummies blog, some use Multiply, some use blogspot but never heard that got to pay leh. :p

Hi

This is my 1st post here....Congrats to all mummy-to-be in Dec09.....I have yet to see a gynae...have made an appointment in early May. No choice, no other earlier date...

Just wondering when will MS kick in? I have not experience yet. I should be in my 6th week this week...Not sure if this is good or bad.

Ainsley, I cannot really remember when the test is conducted. But that is aroud the time when we are suppose to do the Oscar.

Haitong, congrats. I am coming to my 6wks also. Did not have any MS as well. Infact other that slightly tired, having sore breast and backache I dun have any symptoms too.

Hi ladies!

Glad to join this thread. Lots of good information esp for first time mummies!

Haitong, I am about same number of weeks as you. Also no MS yet, just very bloated and breast very sore. I think it varies from person to person. Although I've heard some say that MS is good sign, I have also many friends who breezed through their pregnancy without MS. So I think not to worry too much. Important thing is the gynae check.

GG lee, Haitong, you may want to update on the MTBs list that Pauline has done up. So we could all have an overview
happy.gif

Hi thankyou!
happy.gif

Other than sore breast and initially abit of cramp (now the cramp seems no more)...no other symptons...

Previously hv abit of spotting too..but seems like no more now...I m still monitoring...

Just wondering if you guys still have intercourse with hubby after u discovered positive?

I noticed that my spotting happened aft intercourse for a few days....so not sure if others will also experience such.....

Haitong, my gynae say its ok to BD actually. Unless you have past cases of MC. Else its ok. For some, they may experience spotting after BD also. For my 1st, it was okay. No issue even after we BD but we BD very seldom cos hubby stillvery afraid and says like very fragile. Haha.

pauline,
i can't seem to get the chart so can't update my status...

ainsley,
i'll be taking epi too as i tried the laughing gas for a while but it doesn't ease the pain at all

ladies,
i'm also a sahm... and i'm still breast feeding leh... my son doesn't want fm at all! so tats why gonna see my gynae on thurs to see whether i can do tandem bf
