hi babylove, I am having slight backache too.. but I feel like i have all the symptoms, nausea, pulling pains, tiredness.. just feel like sleeping.. is it normal so early into the preganancy?

and i didnt know there is milk for pregnant ladies
happy.gif
i drink normal meiji milk. and i also didnt know there's so many types of supplements.. am only taking folic acid.. so many things to learn!

Hi T_mum, could it be going-to-the-toilet-kind-of-pain? hmm i have it before going to the toilet but doesn't sound that bad. Take care!

Anyone has any natural rememdies for morning sickness?
Thanks! rest well everyone

T mum, yah started already cos I know go gynae she will also give me all these. So buy outside slightly cheaper mah. Haha.

Mummies, btw if you all started eating fish oil , make sure the EPA content nt high. Cos remember my gynae say may cause spotting hor.

Babylove, yah me already have backache. Its common. I felt more cramp for this pregnancy compared to my 1st too.

Catzz, congrats

I'm visiting Dr Caroline Khi from TMC. Was my previous gynae too. Like a a lot as she is very patient and always put on a smiley face. Pretty experience and always assure me to. Find her very confident while handling my 1st pregnancy. Had a long labour of more than 24 hrs. Overall thumbs up except for the long waiting time during Sat. Have to wait for more than an hour at times.

Every pregnancy is different lah. But the symptoms you mention is common. There are many tpyes of milk. You go supermarket to take a look. Otherwise, get your gynae to give you some samples before buying. For me I cannot stand taking milk. Force myself to drink during the 1st pregnancy but after a while too torturing to continue. So at times only dring the Meiji type. Taste better to me. Morning sickness, many say eat sour plum or lemon. Unless yours is very bad, think these 2 will help.

Peachtree
Wow, 9 yrs. Tat's quite a long gap.Hope ur morning sickness will go off soon.

Confirm my pregnancy. But I have not visited a gynae yet. Dunno which gynae to visit. My ex gynae has gone overseas. So now looking around.

Hi Min, milk for pregnant ladies haf higher vitamins level catered for. eg; folic/calcium and some others (forgot the names) :p

I agree with Lileen, morn sickness i tink only sour plums leh .. although i seen an article that says gas drinks do ease the feeling. I tried that during my 1st pregnancy, feels it really helps .. but of cos .. drink moderately.

Hi all MTBs! Congrats!

My LMP is on 3-Mar, but my period have late for 1 week.. i taken two home test but came out negative today.. I've been suffer back pain, slight cramps, breast swollen & pain, feel tired easily. I'm not so sure if i'm pregnant. So sad, i feel like giving up.
I really hope i can join you all.

hi Apple Gal - sorry, did u mean that ur last period was 03 March? Wat test are u using? Clearblue is the more sensitive one. Shd be able to detect pregnancy even u miss ur period for 1-2days.

Hi, T mum

Yes, my last period is 03-Mar. I'm using clearblue two times, once at 7th Mar and another one today, both came out negative..
sad.gif

But i been suffer backpain, slight crmaps breast swollen for past 1 week.

Apple, if really concern, can go and do a blood test. Its the most accurate and can detect little hcg level. Dun give up. Jia you. Maybe try testing a few days later.

haffa, I have the same problem with Dr Jocelyn Wong, her appt lead time is very very long. I haven't tried her before though cos I was seeing another gynae for no. 1.

Babylove, thanks, it seems better after I sent my gal to ILs place for these 2 days but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Lileen, thanks... all of u seems so exp... glad to learn from u all haha...

for me still no symptoms yet... have bought dumex mamil mama but have not try... me taking folic acid only, have not seen any gynae yet but will be visting Dr Lim Ah Leng at TMC. Anyone knows him?

Applegal, that time my menses late by 10 days, but hpt test come out all negative. Even went to see gynae, scanned but nothing. Sorry to be a dampener but I think if you already missed your menses and hpt is negative then you are most probably not pregnant. Wait for AF to come and try next cycle bah. New cycle equal new hope, jia you!!!

Hi, Lileen

I think i will wait another 1-2 weeks. Thank you for your advise .But due to past 1 week of the cramp, back pain and the breast swollen made me feel like I'm sick.

Hi, Pauline

It's ok. It's just the symptoms made me feel sick, i don't have such feelings before.

Re: HCG
Most people do not take HCG blood tests unless want to confirm the pregnancy or having some pregnancy concerns like spotting/bleeding bad cramping etc. HCG can be used to determine the viability of the pregnancy, how well its progressing before heartbeat can be seen

Below is a gauge of HCG levels:
3 weeks LMP: 5 - 50 mIU/ml
4 weeks LMP: 5 - 426 mIU/ml
5 weeks LMP: 18 - 7,340 mIU/ml
6 weeks LMP: 1,080 - 56,500 mIU/ml
7 - 8 weeks LMP: 7, 650 - 229,000 mIU/ml
9 - 12 weeks LMP: 25,700 - 288,000 mIU/ml
13 - 16 weeks LMP: 13,300 - 254,000 mIU/ml
17 - 24 weeks LMP: 4,060 - 165,400 mIU/ml
25 - 40 weeks LMP: 3,640 - 117,000 mIU/ml
Non-pregnant females: <5.0 mIU/ml
Postmenopausal females: <9.5 mIU/ml

However, from 6th weeks onwards, when the baby heartbeat and yoke sac can be seen, hcg levels are seldom taken anymore as the viability of the foetus can now be monitored directly through the sac and heartbeat. Unless the foetus is not growing in size during the first trimester, then further hcg tests might be required because if the pregnancy is going well, hcg levels should double every 2-3 days...

Hope this helps... I went for hcg testing 3 times during my first pregnancy cause had super bad bleeding then and was hospitalised twice...

hi babylove
Pls keep close look on your cramps... see gynae immediately if any spotting occurs

hi apple gal
My LMP was also 3rd march
happy.gif
.. you sound like having pregnancy symptons, but it could be that your hcg level is not high enough for the testkits to detect? How about visiting a gynae and requesting a hcg-beta tests to be done? From there, you can detect your hcg level and take any jab or duphaston medicine if required to....

Thanks, Roxy. My hcg blood test was 953miu/L when I tested last Friday. That was CD31. Do you remember your 3 HCG blood tests results and CDs? Can share?

hi pauline... I tink 1st test at 4 weeks was 200plus, then 1 week later (when i started bleeding) was abt 1,000 (dat was 5 weeks lmp) when i was hospitalised n took test 2-3 days later, level was abt 3,000.... so doctor decided my bleeding was ok since hcg levels were rising and discharged me... My bleeding was like first day AF, very fast soak up the pad, so scared then.... by my 2nd bleeding, could see heartbeat and foetus le, so didnt take hcg tests anymore but i was hospitalised.... My 3rd bleeding occured when i was at 12th week, by then i was calm and steady n just went back sleep :p Praise God bb is fine and my DS is now an active and notti 11mth old boy

Hcg levels actually cannot be interpreted at a point in time and in isolation, they must be observed a few times (prob 2-3 days apart) as they should double every 2-3 days. But your hcg level sounds wonderful, much much higher than mine so dun worry!

Can anyone advise me for folic acid, 5mg for recommended intake .. the "mg" stands for? cos i am taking folic which i bought from GNC, per tablet is 400mg. I am confused here if my dosage is correct?

Thanks, Roxy, you make me feel so much better. I was worried of going to toilet these few days, any funny feeling below and I'll run to toilet to check. hmm.. you have a ds. Okie, so far my symptoms for no. 2 compared to my gal is quite different, let's see if it's a different gender. ;)

Hello mummies m new here, this is the first for me.. my EDD 2nd Dec. Check with you all, when did your morning sickness kick in as i do not experience any morn sickness at all - worried for bb.

hi glimmerhope

i have started to experience mild morning sickness. nauseated feeling, u will feel worse if your stomach is empty. so i snack a bit along the way to fill my tummy. morning snack (after breakfast at home): milo at work. afternoon snack: fruit.

This is only my routine for past 2 days though. i started feeling a bit nauseated only last sat..

and feel a bit giddy.

when i asked my gynae when i would expect these symptoms, he said jokingly,"why are you hoping for it? dun have is better."

so maybe it is better when u dun have.. everyone's body is different

hi mummies,
i just tested positive last week n confirmed it with blood test too. This is my 2nd baby , my boy is 18mths now.

hi haffa and lileen, thanks for your recommendations! I have a friend seeing Dr Jocelyn Wong as well, heard that she is not too bad.

But the things is my hubby does not trust TMC, he said facilities not as good and service is not good. Heard it from his friends and colleagues, which i heard otherwise. think he is not comfortable with TMC, so don't think i will go there.

anyway, it should be okay if i don't visit a gynae until about 8 weeks, right??

Hi, any of the mummies SAHM and staying in Tampines area?

Glimmerhope, last time my MS started in week 5 when I started taking hormone pills. :p

Ueno, welcome, another second time mummy. Quite a few in this thread so far.
happy.gif

Catzz, yes, it's ok to see gynae only in week 8 if you don't have any spotting or bleeding. For my no.1, can see heart beat at week 6 so if you kan cheong then can go earlier.

I've also tested positive 2 days ago. Have not seen gynae yet. This will be my 2nd baby too. My son is now 3 yrs+

Hi skinneybeenie,
Tks for the information!!
happy.gif
I will finish up my GNC folic den perhaps will get from NTUC pharmacy.

Really tink u r lucky not to have any MS.

Hi Pauline
Im sure you will be fine....
Im also keeping my fingers crossed cause I had a mc before having DS and when having DS, I was having bad bleeding.. for this one now..im taking it lightly and choosing not to see gynae until 7/8 weeks when heartbeat can be seen.... im scared of wat happened to me when i had mc

hi T_Mum
You can actually just buy no brand folic acid from watsons, unity/guardian pharmacy... $2.50 for 100 pills. Take 2 a day... I took that for my last pregnancy

Hi Catzz
Like wat pauline said, if no spotting/cramps, its ok to delay... but from week 6 onwards can see heartbeat le

hi glimmerhope
My MS kicked in abt week 9 and lasted till wk 16.. was terrible feeling.. everyday hug toilet bowl, vomit out my dinner etc.... not nice to have MS

hi catzz
all this while ive been using TMC and im very happy with their services... the nurses are helpful and professional (ive stayed there 3 times le :p ) compared to kk when my son was warded there last week, kk nurses really CMI... simple task like making a bottle of milk takes eternity!! And they dun even know how to bathe my DS, faintz

Oh ya, anyone can advise me if can eat the cheese dips in one of the bulk purchase? not sure if the cheese they use can be eaten by pregnant ladies ..

hi poppi,
welcome!

pauline,
thanks for the welcome! yup, i noticed there r quite a few 2nd time mummies here too. Im SAHM n i stay in the east coast area.

Ueon,
Thanks and congrats to you too. Both of us are 2nd time mummies.
happy.gif

I am FTWM and currently working in KL. I used to stay in east area too.

Josephine,
I have been drinking cold drinks lately. But I try to avoid chilled drinks.

think is feels gd to drink once in a while haha...
so where are the mummies staying? any1 in woodlands?

hi n congrats to new mummies here. Hv been busy these few days. Can start to feel tired n sleepy now n esp in the afternoon. Want to zzzz off. I also suddenly hv cravings 4 cold drinks recently when i dun usually drink. Trying very hard not to drink also cos later bodyache but cannot go ba guan now. It wld be ok to hv things in moderation. Ham wise its ok but not too much due to the nitrate. Fast fd ok to indulge once a while also. Juz tat these junk make u put on weight faster n harder to get ride after preggy. But of cos try to hv nutritional now.

t mum, yah the folic acid u refer to shd be 400mcg or microgram. U may see the 'm' is the micro m rather than the mili m. Anyway folic acid is water soluble. So if excess will be wash off as urine.

t mum, juz saw ur post on cheese. Usually cheese dip r made fm cheddar cheese. Such cheese r ok for us to eat. Those cheese not suitable r those that has not go thru any heat treatment like some soft cheese. Cheese like cheddar, mozerella etc r processed n thus suitable.

hi pauline and roxy, thanks for the reply. i have no spotting or bleeding... but sometimes got slight cramp on the right. cos i previously had cyst problem, i'm a little worried...

anyway, i have just scheduled my gynae appointment for tomorrow. a little kan cheong, cos 1st time and want to make sure everything is alright. also, just want to try my luck to see if got any heartbeat or not. hee...

i just book a gynae near my place (for convenience now), Dr. Clifton Chan in Clementi. Anyone seeing him or have experience with him??

Hi to all, so far i've done 2 blood tests and 1 hormone jab. Going for scan next week.
Btw, anyone seeing Dr Fong Yang?

hi all, I'm at my 6th weeks, feel naesea and dizzy quite often, anyone experiencing the same?
