Carol: in the middle of the night, only KKH has PDs. The first time when my girl got fever,it was only 38.5 but i 1st time mummy, kan jiong spider brought her to TMC in the mid of the night, called in the PD and paid $400 man. FAINT.

Mummies, is it very important for babies to be taking solid at this age? Shay still prefer milk over solid. Once in a blue moon she'll finish her small little bowl of food, but most of the time she'll just take 3-5 spoonful and that's it. Sian.. Anyone have problem like this?

She's not a good eater and not a good sleeper. Very stress ley! -_-

carol, maybe can mix barley into her milk? i mix barley into his milk or cereal. my lil keith hor, sweeten he also dun wan!! i thought babies like sweet drinks? i try to give those juices he also dun wan.
 
carol.. that virus is called roseola. It's a common virus that children under 3yrs old will get. We brought zach to see pd who assured us that it was very normal and all we had to do was to keep the fever down. It actually peaked at 39.3 in the mornings.

but my hubby and i were quite 'relaxed'.. maybe cos a lot of friends told us abt this fake measles and how their babies' fever went as high as 39.9...also ok.

jus to add on for roseolla, the fever only breaks after 3-5 days. We can't do much except to keep the fever down and sponge.

The rash also doesnt hurt.

however, if the fever doesn't break after 5 days, need to do blood test.

ya carol may is rite.. it's roseola aka baby measles. main thing jus keep the fever down! hope ur gal is fine liao. gif her ling yang water if she likes to jus drink.. for me i cant take ling yang leh. haha.. i take only i will kena super high fever. my body sot de. dun worry.. her bones jus got bigger so will put on weight soon! haa

gosh ivy dun go back to that doc liao. viral fever cannot gif antibiotics. virus not bacteria mah. only make yuyu resistant to it for nothing..
 
Hey mummies~ just wanna check is there any baby fair going on somewhere?! i needa buy playpen for my sweetie! >.< btw how much milk should a 9mth old baby girl take in? she having a small bowl of porridge twice a day n 130ml/meal 3-4times aday which is ard 400+ml milk aday.. But i realise she look quite mini.. 7+kgs only T_T any tips on these!!
 
Shea, nn eats quite alot bt compare to Shay, she's so tiny. Today she ate 1 full bowl of porridge with veg n fish. Night she had 100ml bm with 6tbsp cereal mix with 1/2 avocado. She's nt fussy abt food. In fact, she finished in abt 10-15 mins. Latch on demand, still feeding at night Bt shes still 7+kg.. Duno she absorb all her food n bm ant. Lol
 
Wow u still breastfeeding.. i just stopped for 1 month cos im afraid bm too watery for her =( cos she's still so tiny.. my girl starts porridge for 4 days only.. b4 that she eats cereal de.. what veg did u give ur girl.. so far she only tried apple, carrot n pumpkins.. haven start veg cos dunno wanna start from what kind of veg.. hmm or maybe baby girl suppose to be more tiny? my also 7+kg... >.<
 
Ning, nn usually eats broccoli, cauliflower, pumpkin, spinach, carrot, sweet potato, zucchini, corn (only for cooking soup) etc for veg..
Fruits, those more common ones, tomato, papaya, banana, apple, peach, avocado, etc.
Meat, fish, chicken.. So far she has not reject any food. I duno if it's bcos bm too watery tats y she so small leh. Bt she eats porridge, cereal, snacks oso still v small. Haha.. Bt hor, my girl v small bt v fierce. Haha!
 
Karen my boy also not v interested in food but he likes to eat when the adults are eating.. Give him some rice grains to munch on n he'll be grinning n shaking leg.. He likes to eat off my fingers and not the spoon.. Same food I gaf him using spoon he clamps up but I use my fingers n he happily eats! =.=" he dun like me to mix bm into his food leh.. So I mix fm lo.. U dun worry bout Shay choosing milk over food.. Milk is still what they need more now.. Prob gif her meat? Iron from animals easier absorbed by body.. U wanna try finger feeding Tom? Hehh

Wah ains nn eats so much ah! Think she's the 娇小玲珑kind larh.. Or maybe clenching fists n screaming burn a lot of calories? Hahaa.. Must ask her to 表演when we meet up k.. I haven witness yet!!

Oh viral fever! Zayden also kenna last wk! His temp hit 40.7!!! Even after medi Thus I went down mt a at 3am! But same loh.. Boh bian, can only cont to give medi/keep the temp down etc. After 4days, rashes came out! Phew! Wat a scare!
 
Luwen! My boy same as ur r! Only interested in adults food! His own porridge eat and cry, eat and cry! Damn funny at times! :p. Sometimes he eat then "bbbuuuu" out! Aiyo... My poor helper! :p

Shokel: eat the chlorpheniramine tablet. It's a yellow tablet n the only one suitable if u r breastfeeding.

Mtdt: wah, lucky he ok now.

My boy also kenna fever today. High of 38.8 today. Just giving him para. Think probably oso viral. This is the 1st time he is sick. Hope he can handle well.

Cala- wher to get the yellow tablet? Pharma can? Or doc? I only have the red tablet like love seed one... Duno if it's suitable for bfing so dint take... Lqy sick too? Me also a bit headache n fever .
 
Mummies, how much porridge does ur bb eat now? Mine only abt half of a chinese bowl. Her milk intake is abt 900ml fm per day though. Seems like she does not hav enough solid food too?

Shokel: ya lor, looks like he got the virus over the weekend. Anyway yellow tablet only available at doctors prescription leh. Red colour one cannot.
 
Cala-oh hope noah recover fast fast! Tis fever also zayden 1st time get sick! His 1st test! :p. Actually my no1 kenna viral fever before, so I kinda of expecting the the 3-5days+rashes. But even giving para+brufen-his temp still hovering at 39-40! And I am running out of medi, so went to see doc just to confirm. Lucky he is ok... Never fried his brain! :p

Zayden is eating a full chinese bowl of porridge. But bad habit is halfway eating, he wld fuss then needs to be carried by maid then finished it! Milk he is drink 800-1000ml(4-5feeds) per day.
 
hiyo so many babies sick.. babies sick mummies suffer double. must plus heartache too.. the thing bout baby measles is that it is most contagious when there is no symptoms.. once the rashes/fever's out then the baby dun actually pass on the virus. so v easy to kena out there..

ning dun think it is cos bm is watery.. bm changes composition to suit baby's growth.. my bro super fat baby last time.. now like bamboo pole.. my mother can use him to hang her laundry. haha.. mayb ur gal will beef up when she is older!

miumiu, I don't steam any of the fruits I gave to Raelynn (apple, peach, banana, pear). But it's personal preference, my logic is we can eat them 'raw', should be ok also for babies bah. :p

Faith fell from her cot...
Now my heart v pain. Dun blame myself also cannot cos as a mummy why din I keep an eye on her. I turned around n found her on the floor Liao. Can faint. She cried n sob of course. But dun haf bump on head. Haven throughly check her body yet cos she past her bedtime already.We tried to make her laugh, entertained her. She could still wave n smile.
We waited an hour before letting her latch n sleeping now.

I'm worried. Shd I bring her to see doctor or pd tml huh??
So worried that I'm trembling...dunno how now.

I din see how she fell, but our fault for not bringing up the
latch to her cot cos I tot of putting her down a while only.. N I turned to pick up something and it happened.
Mummies pls take care n dun leave ur eyes off our precious angels...God must haf let it happened to make me learn the hard way...although I wish it din happen. Praying hard now for my baby..

1xmummy, >.< dont worry.. i ask PD b4 le.. as long as bebe dont voimit within the next 24hours then no problem..T_T that time my ning also fell 3 times from my bed.. lucky its without bed frame and she fall in slow motion.. LOL slight down =_="
 
carol, my #1 had many episodes of false measles.
initially, we oso freaked out.
but somehow, used to her condition after a while.
she would hve high fever for a few days, those wont really sudside kind.
then, when fever subsided, spots appeared.
but for her case, the spots / rashes 'went' from head to toes. as the tiny spots on her face faded, her body would hve some, followed by her lower limbs.
my gal's pattern v 'chao kuan' one. her fever will go v high, 39+. &amp; can oni b brought down by suppository. dhamol oni brought down a bit of her temp, b4 it went up again. ibufen doesnt seem to work on her.
furthermore, coz her temp could oni b brought down by the suppository, i dun give her ibufen, as the 2 types of medicines can oni b given 6 hrs apart. so, cant take the risk of letting her take ibufen &amp; cant ctrl her high temp for the nxt 6 hrs.
we tried ibufen once &amp; regretted. coz w/o suppository, we can oni keep sponging her for a few hrs to bring the temp down to 38 &amp; 'maintain'. once the 6 hrs was up, immediately, gave suppository.
so, everytime, she has fever, we gotta ask for the 'bullets'.
luckily, think nowadays, she seems to hve outgrown tt phase.
sorry for such a long-winded sharing. ;p

Ling- I heard frommy friend that when baby grow older, BM may not be able to give them enough nutrient hence it's good to give abit of other supplements with continue bf.

Hehe today can surf forum more often cause out from office for course ;) been busy with work, although coming year end, my recruitment still ongoing for quite alot of positions cause company still expanding hence alway keeping a lookout to prepare for next year...
 
karen, my boy oso cant really take semi-soilds, let alone solids.
the nurses said he might b one of those babies with weaker stomach muscles, so cant hold his food well. he 'merlion' easily.
his porridge still needs to b 'grinded' now.
he cant really take the melt-in-the-mouth puffs.
&amp; he doesnt know how to, so he'll juz 'choke' by it.
my nephew who is 3 wks older is oredi trying out sushi rice.
the day b4, my mum suggested tt i shld stop giving him ebm &amp; fbm, &amp; switch to fm.
as he seemed to hve shrunkened.
so, mayb bm not no more nutrients.
she commented tt my nephew who has been on fm looks better &amp; more 'ang-geh'.
but i told her tt he has shrunkened, coz he has not been feeling &amp; feeding well last wk.
sigh...
 
sharon, my boy's supplements frm the 'grinded' porridge lor...
usually, my mil would cooked brown rice with ikan bilis/fish/pork, veggies, wolfberries, etc. then, b4 serving, she would 'grind' the porridge into 'thick soup' for my boy to consume.
dunno if tis suffice though. :s

When she was a baby to 2 years old, she was always at the 25th percentile, now at the age of 29 months, she has caught up or even weigh heavier than some of her formula-fed friends.

back form hk.. hk trip was not very good as my dad fell sick during the trip and we really couldnt go anywhere... he's now in icu in hospital, praying he's fine
