Hi Angel,

Dana will get better from now onwards! Be positive. Dun get too worried.

Jaspire,

Kayla has eczema? my boy too. Can be so bad he scratches til bleed. Seen specialist and they just prescribed Physiogel. Do let me know if there are better suggestions from your doctor.

Hi mummies,

I remember reading about some bulk buy for Physiogel. Is it still on?

Vyn_leen,

Now I'm worried and wondering what's gonna come after Nan2! In all honesty, I didn't think that far ahead.
I'm gonna check with Nestle and my PD.

Angel
Hope Dana gets well soon. It's worrying. Will pray for Dana as well.

Jaspire,
Ur ger seems very happy in the tub. It is definitely cleaner n safer than public pool. Am so tempted to get. Think i'm waiting for shevon to turn 9m onwards b4 i take her to pool.

Mummies, hubby rushed Dana to 2 PDs whom we've consulted before, both closed! One for vacation and the other for afternoon break. Now bb resting at home, will bring her to clinic when it opens at 7pm. Dunno why the virus so strong....linger around and spike till so high. Thanks for all your well-wishes. Will post updates again. Will be knocking off soon, rush home to see my bb

Angel : Take care .... maybe it's kkh.. so many kids with virus there..the last time i went there, i was so worry that she may catch other airborne virus from the other babies/kids... i almost wanted to leave the place after the initial examination if not that my hubby insisted i stay and wait for the doc to see her. :|

in mean time, use tap water, dampen washcloth n mop baby. place washcloth on top of head, back, and chest (over heart). that is where heat dissipates, so the washcloth will draw heat away from body.

btw re: fever, u gotta continue with medication abt 2 days even if temp is normal. to make sure fever is truly gone for good.

Charismama:
thanks, I have started to do that 3 days ago as think it wd be more nutritious than plain water..

Jules'Mum:
thanks, i've actually sent in on line request for goat's milk sample, not sure how long it'll take. Where do U live? may be pick up from you if not too far

My son is on Isomil 2 now due to his diarrhrea. Is yrs on this brand? They have a help line to call for advise.

switching formula milk
be it switching from stage 1 formula milk to stage 2 formula milk or different brand, the book "asian parenting today" recommend doing it gradually and discourage mixing due to different formulations of the milk as well as amt of water required may differ. Before reading these info, I simply switch suddenly and had a hard time trying to get him drink his milk.

angel: take care. dun worry. Dana is a strong girl. She will get well soon. Maybe can try to let her drink some water or maybe u try to boil those sugared dong gua (winter melon) with water and let her drink.

My mum let my girl drink to prevent heatiness.

araid22, can i get the goat's milk and soy sample from you? my PD reluctant to let Adel try soy cos she thinks cow's milk still better..

hoon, you confirm wan the enfapro sample hor? then i keep for you. you PM me to discuss when to collect ya?

hi mummies,

just back from PD at 9pm. Dana was diagnosed as having caught the influenza (from who, we suspect it's our part-time cleaner who came over on Sat as she was coughing and sneezing).
sad.gif
PD says that influenza can cause high fever in bbs and gave stronger dose of medication (ibuprofen with paracetamol) to bring it down. We are exhausted...hopefully she'll recover with the medicine and rest. Thank you all for showing concern and love towards Dana. Very touched! Hope all your bubs stay strong and healthy and keep bugs at bay!

hi jgal,

have you placed order for the cod liver oil? can i have a bottle? I can't post on ur spree thread. pls let me know if i am in time, so i can transfer accordingly. thanks. =)

Angel,

I'm so sorry to hear that it's Influenza, though I imagine you must be relieved to finally have pinpointed the cause.
Do tell your cleaner to call in sick the next time she's ill, don't take anymore chances.

Try not to worry too much, Dana WILL get better. She will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.
Get some rest, goodnight and God bless.

angel,

hope dana gets well soon. you try to get some rest too.

zishumo,

I stay at bukit timah rd. another alternative is to mail to your place as it's quite flat. yes. my son's on isomil. only complain is poo is dryer and he need to force harder.

lynn,

is your pd from tmc? i had a bad experience with a pd from tmc. my fren's pd who's e guest speaker for some talk. she found out my son is on soy gave me this disgusted look and ordered me to switch him back to cow's. but my son's reflux improved after taking soy and I ask other pds they dun see anything wrong with soy milk. they are in fact quite similar in nutrition facts. as for adel, if she can accept e taste, isn't it better than not drinking? what others have you tried? I have both isomil 1 and 2 as I'm just starting to change formula. which do you want?

Angel - next time must screen ur PT cleaner before she step into ur house, warn her if sick don come if not next time don engage her.

i got one preloved from my friend but her's got no VCD and she only used it for carrying and not breastfeeding...
where can i learn more on the usage huh?

Angel:
how's Dana today?

if u have the cooling mat(the one filled with gel) u can place dana on it as the material is very cooling...

yesterday brought my ger to PD for check-up after the sat fall...luckily no inner bleeding from ears and throat....

there's an article in the PD clinic on fever using the gel mat...

Hi Angel,

Dnt worry, Dana will be fine. How is she today?

My son drink barley water everyweek. I dont knws wats for, maybe to prevent heatiness.
Boil barley without sugar and use that to make the formula.
Maybe mummies can try too...

Hi Diva,

Change of name i not sure whether mus go though lawyer for babies.
My frend changed her name and it cost her $100 years ago.

But wat i knw is, change of name for bb, the birth cert, we will not get the original wan...its is a amended copy.

Oh ya...i heard from my frend...if kids got fever, let them sleep on the cooling mat that cloudme mentioned. But the wan he told me is those filled with water...can be easily bought from $1.99 value shop...

vonn:
actually i also can't remember is the gel fill or water fill one...
cos i often see those selling are the gel fill type...

cloudme, actually i nt sure whether its water or gel the one i bought. But as long as it serve the same purpose right?
happy.gif

I think i bought mine at jurong pt value shop when is closing down at $1.05 or $2...cant remember :p

vonn:

ya...must get one to standby...anyway it so economical...not expensive at all...

Good morning mummies!

Angel, I was on leave yesterday afternoon and read Dana was down. Pray she is much better today. Its really tiring on the parents when our babies are sick.
sad.gif

Maomi, i brought Kayla to National Skin Centre and the doctor there prescribed mild steriod (but can only be applied 3 or max 4 days only) as well as paraffin which is very much like vaselin (very oily). He emphasised very much on moisturising her constantly. He says Kayla's eczema is mild... but then dats becoz her condition has just toned down. Last week was quite bad when it flares up and she cannot stop scratching. And thank God she does not have my psoriasis which I am very worried of. Phew!

maomi, xiaozhu and Jule's mum... I actually talked to Kayla and showed her the float before i let her swim. Even carried her to the tub when I was filling up the water telling her that she is going swimming! I filled the water with warm water ard 36 - 37 degree... its very comfy. I felt like its a baby spa lidat! Hee... Then when placing her in the tub, I held on to her arms and butts for a short while till she is comfy and relaxed then release my hold on her butts... think every step must be slow and steady loh.

Simp, some pple say that if babies are not introduced to pool/swimming earlier... they may be terrified of it and takes quite sometime to coax them or instill confidence in them. I remember my niece first step in the public pool was when she is 1yo and she cried and cling on tightly to me and my sis... din wanna let go. So maybe you wanna bring Shevon to try at Hwa Xia first. Let her build her confidence in water.
