Hello!

Yes. Going for my 3rd FET, first one from this fresh retrieval cycle with NUH. Waiting for period to come before start progynova... probably first week Oct transfer.

Hi Salami :)

Are you with nuh all along for your previous cycles?

Hi ladies

Any idea the usage of medisave for ivf? I know govt subsidized 3x fresh cycle and 3x frozen cycle. But for use of medisave my understanding was we can only use 3x altogether, irregardless of frozen or fresh cycle. Anyone can confirm?

Thanks

I can confirm:)
can use only 3 times, doesn’t matter it’s fresh or FET.
I used 6k $ for first fresh, this cycle is my first FET for my own money, I could use 5k medisave, but decided to save it for second fresh in future( of course if I will fault this FET).

Hi Alisha. I tried to google it and I think we can use for 4th and subsequent cycles so long as it’s within the $15k cap?

Thanks Alisha and wish88. I hope can use medisave as I have used medisave 3x, once for fresh n twice for frozen. Though unsure how much I have used up.

Same here, I have used once for fresh and twice for frozen transfer. You can double check with the nurses during your next visit :)

Does anyone (or knows anyone) that had successful FET in NUH before? Like implanted, carried to full term, healthy baby born?

Like some others... I’m feeling a bit nervous now always hearing bad experiences :(
Yup, I know of a hardcore supporter of Prof - she has a son and a daughter under him :)

Hi dear. Thank you I’m feeling better now :)

Thanks for sharing the above interesting info. My embryos for the 2 FET attempts are expanded blastocysts, not sure does that mean that they are fully re-expanded.

Yeah till now I’m still thinking is it me, or the embryos. :(

Thank you! When will u be attempting again?

Ohh I see...maybe the next time you see your doctor you could ask about what it means that your blastocysts were expanded ones, if it'll help you to make a little more sense of it :)

I've just started taking Mercilon for this new cycle, so by the time my period comes and then Progynoca, FET will probably be mid to end October? I feel like there are so many what ifs, like what if it isn't successful again, etc...but I'm trying not to fret over it too much and take on day at a time :)

Wish88,
When the embryo reaches day5 or 6, it will be an early blastocyst followed by
Expanded Blastocyst, in which the cavity is fully formed, the embryo contains many cells now, but is still contained within the zona layer. After which the embryo will hatch out of the zona layer and start to implant onto the endometrium.

If you are curious, you may want to check with your lab on the grading of the ICM (baby) and TE (placenta) of your transferred blastocyst. If both are of good grades, then it could be other underlaying issues which resulted in BFN.

sorry i keep coming back here. lol. but i will stop relying on the internet soon.
i saw a lot of ttc sisters with unexplained issues, i just feel sad for them.
and i also wish good news will visit them very very soon <3

sorry i digress...progynova making me soooo...sleepy and i am so swollen even my eyes are swollen.
anyone the same from taking progynova ?
just want to know i am not the only one :p

Hi all,

I spent the last 2 hours reading thru this thread and am very thankful i decided to visit an ivf forum. I just completed a FET 2 days ago, so im on day 3 now. This is my first ivf attempt. I tried IUI once and was not successful.

I have been experiencing crampings since the day of my FET. My gynae doesnt seem thrilled that im cramping which makes me worried. Can anyone share their post FET experience?

Don't worry. Sometimes we get too sensitive to our body behavior. It could be implantation process. Is it a blast transfer ? I suggest you can take more almond and red dates drink .. keep yourself warm and stay relax. Good luck !

Thx for the reassurance. Just got a bit edgy when gynae put me on tractocile drip again yest and my cramps came back again today. Wonder if its a case of my womb rejecting the trsf. Yes, mine was a day 5 blast trasf, with assisted hatching.

I shall take some almonds and red dates tml. Hope its not too late. Thx!

Yup! I will ask doctor more on the blastocyst :) thank u.

All the best for your coming cycle! Totally understand the what ifs that always come to our mind. Jia you!

Hihi :)

Thanks for the information.

I’m with NUH and they don’t seem to give a lot of information on the embryo. I remember I asked the doctor on my embryo for the first transfer and he only said it’s a expanded one, didn’t elaborate.

All the while I thought we can only know whether the embryo is good or bad only through the pgs or pgd process? There is so much to learn
I will check again with the doctor whether I can get to ask on the ICM and TE grades. Thank you!

Hi... my first 2 transfers were done in a private clinic. With Sincere IVF centre. First one implanted but m/c at 8 weeks. Second one didn’t stick. Hoping for the best with this fresh batch of blastocysts!

I also found it strange the NUH refused to provide any grading for the blastocysts. Apparently, once they can be expanded blasts they’re all good enough for a try so no point adding another complication to our decision making I guess!

Anyway, i keep getting Stephen Chew during the crucial milestones cos Prof is away a lot. Chew did my retrieval and will be doing my transfer first week Oct!

I’m starting mine in a couple of days! Hoping I won’t feel too bad with it! :( try to exercise more? I always think it helps with circulation and just makes one happier in general!

Hi Salami. You transferred one embryo per transfer when you were with Sincere Clinic?

My recent cycle, my scans were done by 3 different doctors (when Prof was away) which I don’t feel so good about it because different doctors way of scanning is different and my measurements was weird too but they explained that could be because it was done by different doctors.

How many did you managed to retrieve this round? All the best! :)

Hi ladies. Can I ask when praying to Zhu Sheng Niang Niang, did husband go together with you all the time? For myself, I usually go alone.

I usually go with my hubby cos I don't drive :p

On a serious note, good to bring along some flowers and offerings when you pray to ZSNN.

With Sincere we transferred 2 at a time.
Only 1 of the 4 implanted in the end, on the first FET but heart stopped at 8 weeks. So sad.

Took us a year to try IVF again. This retrieval we got 7 (5/6D blastocysts). Guess we need to decide soon if we transfer 1 or 2.

Any suggestions?

Sorry to hear that. I’m sure your rainbow baby will come soon :)

Wow 7 blasts is awesome! I have 3 blasts from the first round. Did your past retrievals also have such good results?

I transferred one on all my previous transfers because of age, doctor said it’s best to put one. Also because I don’t have a lot of embryos so wanted to try it one by one. If I have more, I probably will put 2.

Putting 2 seems to have higher chance of success. Did your doctor suggested anything?

Well done on the second fresh which yielded more blast! We have decided also to get on a new fresh cycle and hopefully with the tweaks in medicines, we can get some blasts and more embryos also.

I think it really depends if you have 7 maybe you can consider to transfer 2. Be prepared though it can be twins. :)

If I were you, I go for 2 embryos. It's a 50-50 that it may implant, it's also a 50-50 that it may be twins. But at least I won't waste one cycle (time and money) in the event of a BFN.

Hihi just wanted to share my experiences. I have 2 FETs, both time transferrred 2 embryos and both embryos implanted. During first FET one of the bb was mc at week 9, another was terminated due to multiple fetal abnormality at week 22. For the second pregnancy , both implanted as well but I lost both babies on week 18 due to pPROM.

For both pregnancy I have a fair bit of bleeding, of which during my second pregnancy my bleeding was heavy at wk 9 which resulted in 2 weeks of bed rest. I have a baby with issue and this baby water bag ruptured. Unfortunately the womb purged out the baby as well as the healthy twins.

Hence do be aware of the risks involved in having twins (bleeding.. potential pprom)... my morning sickness and reflux were very bad as well.. all the way till I mc.

I'm considering to transfer only 1 embryo in my next try... hopefully can sustain the pregnancy.

Good luck to all of you.. fighters mummies

This has always been a Question every ivfer would like to know the golden lucky no. to transfer.

Do u know the grades of your blasts ?

Here’s my 2 cents worth :- I used to be an advocate of transferring 2/3 day 3 embryos but my dr shared that for blast transfers, especially good grades blasts, it will not improve the chances of pregnancy BUT increase the chances of multiple pregnancies.

Seen so many of the ex-IVfers from this forum carrying twins/triplets getting into complications during their pregnancies and its not for emotionally faint hearters to deal with especially when there’s a loss or when one requires pro-long period of bed resting.

All we pray for is to have a smooth pregnancy and finally carrying our bundle of joy in our arms. So on a “kia-see” side, i would suggest to go with one.

Wen822, Oh dear ! Breaks my heart reading the ordeal you went through. I too had complications for both my singleton pregnancies... 1st BFP was heavy bleeding due to a tear btw the water bag and uterus... while 2nd BFP was hematoma. Both of these episodes required bed resting for a few months which was mentally draining. Every moment during the bed resting felt like I was hanging on to the edge of a cliff by my fingertips!

Hope that you have a smooth pregnancy this time round with a Single Embryo Transfer.

Towkayneo,
Need to consult you on some matters. Tried sending you PM but to no avail.
Can you reach me at daylesfordATgmail.com

Thanks In Advance

Hi ladies. Can I ask when praying to Zhu Sheng Niang Niang, did husband go together with you all the time? For myself, I usually go alone.
adding on, i go to tcm alone.
because tcm is expensive and my hubby is not a believer of tcm despite him being a traditional
chinese.

i am transferring 2 due to my hubby’s age. i am much younger than him. he is worried as he gets older he does not have much energy to take care of kids. dont plan to have to many tries. so i am giving it my all. keeping my fingers crossed.

Thank you for sharing your journey and it must have been heartbreaking for you. Your story gives me courage and yet is abit worrying. I just did my first FET on 6th sep and beta was BFP. But I was told MC is not uncommon. Are there any symptons of impending MC? Or is there anything one can do to avoid? I wish with all my heart the coming one goes well for you.

I did only a single blast trsf as my gynae is also afraid my body may not be strong enough to sustain more than 1 implantation.

Usually any pain or bleeding, or blood clots discharge or sudden gush or discharge of water (from Trim 2 on-wards ) are signs of threatened miscarriage. Drs can only provide us with a limited amount of progestrone & estrogen to help us sustain our pregnancies. There is no better remedy than bed resting when our body starts to show signs of miscarriage.

Hope that helps and don't worry unnecessarily.
Have a smooth pregnancy !

NUH doesn’t want to grade the blasts (or refuse to tell us). It really is a tough decision.
Dr did mention that transferring 2 only marginally increases the chances.

Previous retrieval only got us 4 blasts. After one year of being much healthier and changing to a much less stressful job... we got better yield :)

Doctor said transferring 2 only marginally increases the chance of pregnancy, like from 25% to 27% that kinda thing.

I’m not young... and we’re trying for our first... so getting a bit kancheong if you know what I mean.

I have no symptoms at all, the water bag just burst suddenly. I hope it's random and unlucky and won't repeat again in future.

I think bed rest is very impt, minimize carry heavy things and walking Esp if you are prone to bleeding. I can't take food very well, but I try to drink milk.

All the best to you. Wish safe and smooth pregnancy for you.

Actually I think just go for 2, sometimes only 1 implants.

I'm just baffled as to why NUH is so secretive about the grade of the embryos or blasts. I know other hospitals always let the patients know.

A big hi to all warrior mommies here!

Seeking some answers for after ET can share some with me?

Today is my 2dp3dt; I’m experiencing some cramps that can be quite hurting at times (knife scrapping on the uterus kind), spotting as well but not sure is it because of the estrogen pills vaginally. From what I read is very common to have cramps but is it common that it hurts so badly? Not persistent though, just that when it happens comes along with bloating at that point of time is unbearable. I understand that all the progesterone adn after ET these are common symptoms. So my qns is,If its common to be that painful and usually how long will it last? Does it means the frequency of pain is more leads to lower chances of getting a bfp? Pls help...thanks!
