When to start taking maternity leave

it depends on u. some pp work till the day she delivers while others prefer to rest 1 week-2 weeks in advance...

I'm taking mine 1 week before my EDD, because I want to rest and also spend some time with my first one. My cousin worked right up to the day she gave birth.. as in, finished work at 6pm, go home take train, go home and suddenly waterbag broke. EDD was the next day, and she really gave birth then. LOL.

I'm taking 1 week before my C-section date

I was intending to go to work the same afternoon I visited the Gynae and was told to admit hospital immediately for emergency c section. So never rest at all

I took 1 week before EDD and its good coz I was very uncomfortable with the big belly and swollen ankles by then.

really depends on you. it's good to rest before you give birth esp if this is your first baby. Cos you may not get the same kind of quality rest when baby is here. For me, my gynae gave me 1 week hospitalisation leave before she induce me. My ML actually started one day before my inducement. so in a way, i was able to plan my leave properly when I know whn I am giving birth.

Is it ok to request MC or hospitalisation leave from doctors 1 or 2 weeks before EDD? I've requested for it but doc says cannot. Can give letter to employer to start ML early though. Quite strict with giving MC, you think?

i dont think is right if the gynae give u hospitalisation leave 1 or 2 weeks before your EDD. why not just start your maternity leave early?
