Hi mummies,

I'm a first timer mum, EDD SEP. Have some enquiries to fellow mummies who has delivered at KK women and children hospital.

I'm not going the private ward delivery route, so wanted to find out during labour delivery,

1) Will there be a doctor around during delivery? Because so far, when i visited the gynae for consultations, she's not able to answer my questions. She asked me to refer to the doctor, but so far, i have no opportunity to speak to a doctor as i'm not going private.


2) Will wound cutting/ stitching be done by doctor or widwife at KKH? Since i don't have a designated doctor?

My daughter is delivery at KKH 7 yr ago, we also don't have designated doctor. My wife choose natural birth which midwife will do the delivery cum wound cutting and stitching. A experience doctor will on duty. As my daughter head is too big which the midwife need to cut to let my daughter to come out. But the cut is too deep which the midwife is unable to stitch back which the standby doctor take over from her. As my english no so good wish u can understand and clear your doubt
