Failed IUI, wats Next?

Hi all,

I am really devasted cos i went thru 5 times of IUI with stages of taking clomid, (maximum) injections to induce ovulation. The biggest egg size i manage to get is only 23mm which is considered the most desirable this time round, thus pinning high hope for this month since my hubby would like to have a rabbit baby to be.. But, i encountered spotting few days ago until today, my menses came... ~haiz.. tats bad news.. i really dun know how to break this bad news to him. He will definitely feel very dissappointed...

No rabbit baby to be, fine! But what have i done wrong to deserve THIS?! What is the next step i should take? To continue IUI? Or proceed with IVF ?(which is least preferred due to the tremondous pressure cum $$) Change gynae? Change to TMC? Or any other choices? Please advise...

Hi Sunnyday,

Is really sad to know that you have tired 5 times of IUI... may i know you did the IUI or is SOIUI... coz there is a diff for that... SOIUI have a higher chance to conceive.. Since you have tried times, IVF will be next step... btw which doc/gynae did you went? I am going for SOIUI but still waiting for my menses to come in order to action.. pretty looking forward but at the same time scare of disappointment... just like you said pin high hope and disappoint the next moment... btw did you go for chinese doc as well... guess our body have to a mixture of eastern & western treatment...

Don't give up ya... next year is a good year too... dragon baby...

Hi lady chris,

Pardon mi for being blurred here... but wats the difference between IUI & SOIUI? We didnt wanna to go thru IVF yet as we dun have any serious problems till going to that extent, while it is not 100% gurantee... My gynae is Dr Charles Lim @ Mt E.

Actually before going thru IUI, i had actually went for TCM for my ovulation problem as well.. Indeed it did improve my condition but now is the egg size..~haiz..

Watever year is fine for us as long as we can conceive & deliever a healthy baby.. Nevertheless, good luck to you!

Hey Sunny,

i am seeing Dr Charles Lim also. will going to him for first IUI next week. (8th day) for injection. This morning called the clinics and the nurse told me no booking time, have to go there and wait..sigh.

i think the price for IUI and SO-IUI different by 1k so you will know urs is IUI or SO-IUI

Hi Sunnyday,

I was told that IUI do not reqiure to take Jab , when your egg grows to the desire size (20MM or more), the doc will proceed to insert your husband's sperm into you.

Guess if you have the egg size problem.. SOIUI will be more ideal... coz the jab will help to increase the egg size... you will need to take jab from the 2nd day of your menses till maybe 08th day of the menses... it depend on each individual... IUI is cheaper compare to SOIUI...

Btw Ladies... we have to keep the faith going... though i know is a mental torture....
i am still waiting for my menses to come in order to proceed for my SOIUI..... anyway good luck to both of you....
