Hi everyone! My EDD is Feb 2014 and I would like to know do we need to clear bowels prior to childbirth?

Coz I heard the feeling of childbirth is similar to moving bowels, so it would be good to go toilet before that.

Thank you!

Adleen : Not to worry.. when u check in.. they will usually ask u if u have clear bowels, if not, they will give, i cant remember is insert into anus one or oral one... then very fast u will go toilet liao. heee..

not to worry, once you are admitted, the nurse will insert something ( a bottle of liquid thing) into ur anus
the next moment you will have to feeling to poo...

If you are a private client, you can write in your birth plan that you do not want this procedure done. During active labour, when baby is moving down, at certain point it will move toward the back first and makes you feel like you want to poo. The procedure is not necessary. I did not 'push' my baby during childbirth. Baby will move down and birth itself without 'pushing'. It was painless. Childbirth should not be painful anyway. www.mummybabycare.com
