Breathing technique during labour

Hi Mummies

Would be glad if anyone can share the breathing technique that we should carry out during labour. Due to work commitment, I do not have the chance to attend any prenatal course, so hope mummies who attended can share the breathing technique and any pushing 'strategies'?

Thanks

Hi, I have not attended any prenatal course as well. I just delivered 2 weeks ago. During labour, I refrain from holding my breathe. When the contractions kicks in, I take a very deep breathe. Dunno whether this is the correct technique. But I feel better with this method. Hope this helps.

Hi! I previously read hypnobirthing book to learn about breathing but at the end I never practise at all. The contraction (hypnobirthing term: Surge) come & go, so each time when the contraction peak, I just take deep & long breathing. Breaaaaaath in, breaaaaath out.

When comes to time to push (hypnobirthing term: birth) I was told to take a deep and hold my breathe counting 1-10 and 'push'. I never take epidural, so i was able to 'push' smoothly. Just imagine you're having bad constipation with a tough bowel movement. Very empowering!

Do not fear of the pain as the more you fear, the painful it will be.

Good luck!
