No, it is not a good time to go in Dec. Journey there is VERY choppy - big waves, rain, etc. We went in Dec last year and more than half the ferry was sea-sick. Crew was busy handing out barf-bags. 4 out of 5 of my family members were sea-sick and needed half a day to recover when we arrived.
