Hi, i currently have two 8918 model cctv and would like to buy 2 more. Would you recommend that i buy the same models for compatibility to view all 4 tog? Hi Snowger, Would recommend you to get the FI8910W as it has better image quality and colour as compared to FI8918W. It's compatible to view with your existing FI8918W as well. Onsite installation by our engineer is $80 per trip. |

Hi Elicia, Base on your requirements, you can consider our SD card recording model - FI9821W as it's the only model that supports recording without the need to on the PC. However, recording of videos is only on motion detection, not continuously. The installation cost is $80 (up to 3 cams) and mounting is a separate charge of $30 per set, paid to external contractor. |

For FI8910W, If I record on sd card, does it mean that each time I want to view, I have to take out the sd card from the camera to view? If I record on PC, do I need to turn on to record? If I record the whole night, how much memory I need in my computer? Can I record on PC and view from my Android concurrently? Can install on 24th march morning? |

Hi Foscam, I am facing a problem, i cant access my foscam through my iphone wherever i am outdoor(with 3G or wireless), but whenever i am at home, i am able to access using my home wireless. its been quite sometimes already and i cant monitor my house when i am at outside. Hi Colyn, Are you using the local IP addr starting with 192.168.x.xx to view on the iPhone? If so, you should change the addr to the external IP addr located on canyouseeme.org instead for remote viewing. If your camera is bought after Dec 12' you can use the free DDNS addr at the sticker on the base of the camera starting with http://xxxx.myfoscam.org. |

Yes, same here .. I just changed to fibre broad band .. I accessed the router .. Starhub gave me a D-link DVG-N5402SP .. I went to web management and I just can't seem to configure the cam to be accessed remotely via 3G. Please help me. |

Hi Josey, For viewing on pc, most prob will need 2 separate window for different brands of IP cameras. However, on phone app, if the app was developed to support both brands of cameras, then viewing on the same page (thumbnail view) will be possible. |

Hi Jeddie and Kristalangel, For change in router, you will need to reconnect the cameras one by one back to the new router to rescan the new wifi name and pw and do portforwarding in the new router settings page. For eg, using D-link DVG-N5402SP (assuming router IP addr is 192.168.0.1). 1) After connecting the camera to the router, go to your pc and click on "IP camera tool" icon on your desktop (software installed from cd). You will see the IP addr of the camera appearing. Just click on this addr and login as usual. 2) Go to "Device Management" or "For Administrator" (if using IE) and click on "wireless LAN settings". Scan for your new wifi name and enter the wifi pw (in either "shared key" or "key1" field). Click submit and wait for camera to finish countdown before removing the LAN cable connected to router. 3) Next, you need to do port forwarding on your Dlink router page to allow remote viewing. The steps can be found here: ftp://dlink.com.sg/DVG-N5402SP/Setup%20Procedures/How%20to%20Enable%20Port%20Forwarding%20on%20the%20DVG-N5402SP.pdf WAN Connections : Internet WAN Port Range : 8091-8091 (assuming 8091 is your port no of camera) TCP / UDP : Both LAN Host IP Address : 192.168.0.x (camera IP addr) Server Port Range : 8091-8091 Remark : cam 1 4) Aft port forwarding is done, go to canyouseeme.org, enter your port no (eg 8091) and "check". If there's no error, you should be able to view the camera remotely with the IP addr in canyouseeme.org <:8091>. eg http://123.456.7.89:8091 5) If you have more than 1 cam, you can connect a 2nd cam to the new router to repeat the wireless process. **Please note that if you see the error "subnet mask doesn't match" after you connect the camera to your new router, you will need to change the 3rd section/digit of your camera IP address to the same no as your router by clicking on the error message. Eg if you still this screenshot aft clicking on the error:
You should change to the following details and click "ok": IP address: 192.168.0.27 Subnet: 255.255.255.0 Gateway: 192.168.0.1 (same as router IP) DNS Server: 192.168.0.1 After camera reboots, the error will disappear and you can proceed to login to the camera. Feel free to call us at 67269226 if still unable to reconnect to your new router. |

Hi Foscam, I'm using FI9821W model. I'm also using the DDNS url provided by the hardware. I'm not able to view my video using mobile app. I've no problem doing so on the laptop. I've also bought the LiveCams Pro which you recommended for iphone. However, this app does not support this model of Foscam. It only support 886x, 890x and 891x series. Please advise how am i able to view on my mobile. |

Hi estee, 1) recording - Yes for all models, but a pc with IE browser need to be on to record direct to the harddisk (except for FI9821 which can record to SD card) 2) Yes, 2 way audio converstaion possible 3) Yes, if using the paid app to record. However, it consumes lotsa space if record in iPhone, so not recommended to record on mobile. 4) Yes, real-time viewing does not require switching on PC. 5) Yes, it connects wirelessly to the router. |

Otherwise, you can just make use of any windows-based pc to do the recording direct to its harddisk. Hi, My camera has been working fine till recently where it can't load, and camera/feed is always not available. I cant seem to log onto the server. How can i solve this? I have not change any of the settings. |

Hi, I bought a FI9821W. But it seems like I am unable to delete the recorded videos from the SD card. Every time I try to shred it, the error msg is it cannot be shred. Is there other way of deleting the videos? |

We bought two FOSCAM FI9821W Wireless Indoor IP Cameras recently and had problems setting up the remote access and had video recording that cannot captured the entire coverage area. We requested and paid S$80 for FOSCAM Singapore staff to come over to our home to set up the two cameras. After the staff completed the set-up and left, more problems appeared. When we tried to access the 2 cameras outside our home, we can't do so most of the time and can at best view 1 out of the 2 cameras occasionally. Then, even the connection within the home network fails and we have to power off & on the IP cameras to get the connection back. It's so unreliable and totally defeats the purpose of having an IP camera in the first place. We wrote to FOSCAM with the following requests. A. Rectify the unreliable remote connection for our 2 cameras B. Advise how we can get the video recording to capture the entire coverage area. C. If all fail, either refund us for the 2 cameras or replace them with models that are more reliable. FOSCAM Singapore did not respond. ShenZhen Foscam did. But we are very disappointed with the reply (read the emails below) from its technical team. We were told to live with the problem!! What kind of technical support is this? The port forwarding process was tedious and we could not establish the remote connection despite trying several times over a week. We gave up eventually and requested for your service support staff to come over to our home on Sat 27 Apr 2013, at a service charge of S$ 80, to set up remote access for us. I was beside him when he was configuring our router system and ddns to establish the connection. He's knowledgeable but looking at his configuration steps, I realised that they were not documented in your instruction manual and it's not possible for a first time user to be able to configure the remote access on his / her own without those instructions. FOSCAM should realise that an user's experience of a product starts with the installation and FOSCAM fails miserably here. This is a feedback for you to consider and try to improve on it. 2. The remote access works only for a short while after your service staff left. hi, i recently reset my phone and lost the settings to my app (Android). i've tried canyouseeme.org to check my IP address and append with the port number (mine is 80), but i still cant see anything, even if i just try to access over the internet. this is also the case when i key in the DDNS address on the bottom of the camera: xxx.myfoscam.org:88 what am i doing wrong? how can i access the camera again or check what are the correct settings? my husband is still able to access via his iphone app. tks for your help |

Hi hushhush, Are you still able to view the camera with your home pc via the addr in "IP camera tool"? If so, it could be due to the routine update of the IP address by your ISP, you can obtain the new IP address from www.canyouseeme.org and update this addr on your mobile app and it shd be able to work. |

Hi jamie, The order can be delivered by the following day after order is confirmed. Yes, you can opt for delivery and setup by yourself first and call us back to arrange for onsite configuration at $80 (up to 3 cams) if you are unable to setup yourself. |

Hi brainysmurfs, For deleting of records from SD card, you will need to physically plug in to a PC to delete. Otherwise, the camera is able to overwrite the oldest video when it detects the SD card is full. |

Hi Foscam Support, I just bought mine today but I am not able to set up. After I double click on the ip camera tool, nothing turns up. I'm very sure I have disabled firewalls, Mac filtering and enabled dhcp... Anything else I can try??? Camera seems to be hooked up nicely to router, green light blinking... |

Hi Jasmine, Does the image looks pinkish when viewing from pc? If so, try resetting the camera with the reset button at the base of the camera. If the problem persist and camera is still within warranty, you can call our office at 67269226 for servicing. |

Hi I bought the lastest FOSCOM IP cam model FI9821W and wated to enable the motion detection to trigger email to me. However the email configuration always fails after I save and click test. No email was recaeived also. I have tried all possible transport layer security with the different ports but none seems to work. After I save and click test, it always shows fail. TLS port 465 StartTLS port 25 StartTLS port 587 Besides, I have also updated the firmware but still doesn't work. I checked the FOSCOM forum and there doesn't seems to be any solution. Hi, I've bought FI9821W and purchased the paid app (IP Cam Viewer). Everything worked fine except there is no audio when i use the app and on the PC. May I know what went wrong? Is there any built in microphone on FI9821W? |
