Had 2miscarriages previously, expected #1 now. Got some travel plans on Week 13, and Maybe Week 23, Week 24 and in betweens in 2nd Tri too. Would like to ask, which is the best week or best period to travel in pregnancy? Usually 1st Tri a bit unstable, and Week 13 is in between mark between 1st and 2nd Tri, Is it ok to travel or to Wait until like Week 15 or Week 16? I know of a few stories baby was lost at around Week 20 to Week 24 like that due to various reasons. I am a little Paranoid because of past history. So would like to ask if Week 23 is it still acceptable to travel? I know Week 28 or so, isn't advisable to travel and most planes would not allow too. I know that 2nd Tri is good time to travel, but around which week to which week do you think is good? Hope to hear your 2cents worth. Thank you. |

Hi, all is depending on how health is yr pregnancy because each of expectant mother is different. Best is 2nd tri to travel whereby morning sickness alr disappear..but all depending on individual.. I travelled during 2nd tri, but only short distance 2hr flight. I tried to avoid unnecessary travelling, till hb went overseas by himself for vacation. Remember we as a mother needs to plan and act wisely for our own new born. Take care. |

hi, popay is absolutely right. each individual expectant mother is different. your gynae probably in the best position to advise. he/she will then certify if you are fit to travel. for myself, thank god! i had travelled even during my 3rd tri, 33 to 34 weeks. the best time to travel is during your so called 'honeymoon period', that's your 2nd tri. forget not, the little one [perhaps more] has got the most priority now! take care! |

I had a mc recently. My advice is not to travel unless it is really needed just to play safe and not to regret if something happen. You did not mention the reason for travel. If it is for work, it's not worth the risk for the company. If it is for personal or holiday, would suggest to delay till bb is born. |

Hi, I also had 2 miscarriages before and after that was super careful with my preg. My gynae says best time to travel is 2nd trimester, but if your travel is not absolutely necessary, can don't go? If must travel, best to go late in 2nd trimester, preferably after detailed scan. And go only to developed countries (don't go ulu place with lousy healthcare) My 2 cents |
