Rejoy28,
He is a silly man. Now he prefers the lady he hired to take over me, said they went thru thick n thin together esp to close the accounts etc. i jus keep quiet. If he wants to sack me, he has to pay me one monrh notification so i got to hang on instead of quit myself. It seems he trying to make things difficult for me but i endure cos i need the job. :-(

I hope bb is fussing becos of new enviornment at ifc. I also dont know, guess trial and error.

Quizzler,
I same as u. These days i got to stay up until 12pm to feed him, then he seems can last till 5am on fm. His last feed in school is 6 to 6.30pm. When i bring him home, i tried to feed at 10.30pm but he dont want. Turn here n there and cry so i end up carrying and soothing him then he will sleep without milk??? Then i do housework and wait till 12am to feed if not he will wake up at 3 or 4 am and cry n if i feed at that time, i end up cannot sleep already cos i need to get ready for work after i feed him. Sigh

Coco,
You start full fm already??
My supply drop badly n i also wonder if i should stop as i worry he underfeed!

Lobang for nanha2
Cant recall which mummies r on nan? I found seller selling nan2 ha at $35 each but must buy min 6 tins at one time. Is this cheap??

Pofy: ur boss is a terrible man, if he sacks you, as long as he gives you 1 mth notice, he does not have to pay you as well. Why dun u look for another job now and see if you can resign after finding another job?

Thanks Rejoy(28) and forever 81!

Feeding times/Lasting through the night
I suspect that baby L drinks more often during the day so that she can last through the night. I read some literature, they term this as tanking up for the night. Maybe, baby L just prefer to sleep through at night so she rather drink more during the day??

I introduced the 10:30pm night feed after reading up on Gina Ford and true enough, that very night, she slept till 8am. This was 3 weeks ago.

Forever 81, I will see if baby L can drink more these days. If she can stretch up to 2.5 hours more regularly, I will be very happy.

Also Baby L's day times are still very unpredictable. We just moved to China so she is also distracted. In SG (three weeks ago), she used to have three naps but these days, she seemed to need only 2?

Can mummies please share? Thank you!

pofy: Yes, just hang in there! don't allow him to not pay you the one month cause you quit on your own accord!
dont worry about the hair loss thing. It actually stopped after 2 weeks or so. now im dropping way less hair than the period. my husband kept constantly making fun of me saying that i would need to go to lao for ye, no idea if its spelt this way.

For those mummies who put your baby in ifc..how do the caregiver there feed your baby milk? I heard my hb mention the teacher them put our baby in the rocker to feed? I saw the teacher was doing there when i was there just now..i think it should be okay cos it's a fisher price rocker..45 degree tilted so..not so worry about baby vomit ir choke..but i'm just curious why they don't carry baby to feed?

Hair dropping

My hair has been dropping for more than a week aready..hope it will stop soon..i also have hair dropping after i gave birth to my elder..but i don't remember dropping so much..even my elder son tell me toilet floor got many hair..

Milk feed
I think my baby has to been on 3hrly feed forever so long he's in ifc..how i wish he can stretch a little longer to 3.5/4 hr like last time..guess they only allow baby to increase the feeding amt but stick to same interval?

The teacher say my baby has out grow the new pair od socks i bought him a month ago..so i just went to buy a bundle pack of 3-12 months sock to replace..i think very soon i will need to go change all his clothes already..i already packed those 0-3 months in bags ready to pass to my colleague for his baby on the way..
Any mummies got lobang when to buy cheap baby clothes? He needs many to change in ifc..
been thinking to get those short sleeve cotton clothes for him..

Rejoy28,

This morning i just told the teachers my baby knows how to flip over and hold his head up..They told me he managed to do that some time ago already.. i hear already so sad..i missed all those milestones..guess what i was the last one to know..even my hb knew it already..haiz..
I wonder how many more milestones i will go on to miss after this..

Discharge

I noticed i started to have more discharge down there lately? Because of that I put on pantry liner everday for hygience sake..any mummies experiencing this like me?

Pofy,

You have a very terrible boss..
My boss is very nice..he's a very family oriented person..there was once my elder son had chalazion eye surgry..he asked me to keep my leave for family time next time..and sign my timesheet indicating i was working at another site..that was 5 days of free leave..
But i find no more challenges in my work anymore..thinking of switching job..but so scared of meeting bad bosses and long working hrs..i heard so many stories about bosses not happy with working mothers taking too many annual/ childcare leaves to settle family issues..really in a dilemma now..

Quizzer: my mil frens told her (who is a very experience nanny) that they NEVER carry bb to feed, something like, then the bb wld not be too attached to the feeder or wat...cant rem the real reason why, sorry.

Milestones: guess that is the downside of a working mother, that we will miss alot of their first time...

Hi Quizzer, my son was also put on the rocker to feed at ifc. Initially I was worried but luckily so far he's ok.

Baby clothes
You can try Bugis street or Bugis Junctiion BHG. I went there last weekend to buy clothes for my son & BHG had plenty of baby clothes on sale starting from $2.90.

Any mummies know where can I buy cute & cheap hat for baby boy? Saw plenty from gmarket but mostly are with wig.

Hi pofy,

Have not started full formula milk yet. I still express milk in morning before n after work twice a day. Supply dropped drastically as I believe not enough rest n time to express. Used to pump around 100 ml in morning but nowadays only managed to express 30ml. So pathetic right ? But I shall try to express whatever I hav for my bb until she reached 6 mth ba.

Pofy,
What r ur plans then? Since you pump, y cannot store n must throw? If u intend to change job, do start looking around coz the market is getting quiet.
I'm only back to work for 2days n I'm alrdy v depressed. Partly miss bb coz now she's more fun to play with. She now can aim for her toy rattler and shake it. I find it so adorable!
My boss is still as mean as ever n my colleagues actually told me she's worse than before. Sigh. Now the new big boss oso not an ez person, so I'm starting to feel the stress alrdy. Can't wait to get a new job.

LIbra_bb,
Blackmore's pills more exp hor?

Mrs Chun,
The calcium pill is which brand? Unity house brand izzit?

Rejoy,
Where can I buy the bb vit? Can tell me the brand or show me the photo?
For your own vit, u hv to go back Gynae to buy? Are hese the same as the ones you took during preg? Even when I was preg, I din take Folic acid pill (coz got multi vit) and iron pills leh.

I also have days I pump little n I paisei pass to off teacher Co's they need to combine many bottles for one feed.so I store n use it for weekend myself n bb will be on fm in ifc. I also feel sad with supply drop. In fact I feel sorry n guilty at times tat i cannot feed him as much bm anymore. But i see other bbs on fm doing great too n i try to tell myself i m being silly. Winny' s bb on full bm n myself also full fm bb but all ok so i hope i can stop feeling down on this issue!

If u love ur job,it would b good to stay on.mine is a nasty boss. Was just telling hubby if I can complaint to govt about such bossess who r not pro family n not pro breastfeeding. No wonder birth rate keep dropping. Who wants to give birth when we have to worry about getting our job back n also have not pro family work environment?

Hi pofy,
Don't be depressed la. And don't worry abt milk. Bb on fm are growing up very well too. I was like you initially feel bad changing to fm but after that u see bb still growing well and healthily and you have more time for yourself. So don't think so much.

NAN HA 2
Hmmm.. I'm really not sure leh. I'm visiting pd on 24th so I'll check with her. My bb is turning 4 mths next tue so still got abit of time to check out. Actually I tot of changing to similac.

NTUC BB FAIR
Where is it? At ntuc? I went ntuc yesterday but like nothing much to buy leh. I have not use wet wipes for very long. If I change diaper and she didn't poo, I didn't wipe bb butt. Haha! If bb poo then I'll use. One day I think I change 4 - 5 times diaper only.

The pd said Rotavirus had to take at 3.5 mth, he's turning 4 mth on Tues 14th Feb so pd said he's overage. Any mummies encounter such experience also?

Winny: I did. She wld ve a passport on my own. I took the photo myself, use the white nappy as background. Let her lie on it

Sweet snow: I gt it frm the PD clinic, it is a black colour solution for iron and orange colour for multi v. Nothing special, the label also juz indicate iron n multi v. Mine, I took frm the gynae, ya exactly the same as I took during preggy.

Pofy: ya, the market is slower now cause economy nt so good. Bt dun lose hope k? Keep searching, sure wld ve. :-)

Librabb
Me leave the house at 6.30 to travel to ifc. I carry baby out n try not wake him but usually when I change diaper he will wake up but no choice. So My bb wakes up around 6am. The trip to ifc is our interaction time.evening most of the time he sleep or I busy with housework n settling down so interaction very little. Sigh. No choice I also feel bad got to wake him up so early.

Coco

yeah. everywhere's only selling brown rice. I bought mine from an organic shop. im currently using bellamy organic white rice. there are various brands though, for eg, happy bellies.

Does everyone have a smart phone that we can chat instead of coming into this forum all the time?

Hi all! I'm looking at the lunar calendar for bb's month calculation. So even though she's born on 19th, her actually 4th month was on Tues, 14th. I'm going to shave her this sat. Quite 不舍得.

Btw r ur babies still sleeping a lot? Usually my bb's routine is wake up - bath - play - sleep but nowadays she's not sleeping anymore. What abt your babies?

nnicole: i found this article saying that rice cereal is the best to start with. but it did not mention anything about brown rice leh...

http://www.modernmom.com/article/how-to-add-rice-cereal-to-infant-formula

is the rice cereal you mention to start with something like this?

http://www.nestlebaby.com/au/baby_nutrition/products/infant_cereals/product_information.html

weird thing is the same product is stated as 4-6mths on the australia website but as 6+ mths on the sg website (http://www.nestlebaby.com/sg/baby_nutrition/products/product_detail.htm?stage=1&num=10&pci=1)

Pofy,
Same here On milk supply. I took fenugreek in order to maintain supply. Now only managed to express 30ml in morning n 60ml at night. Hope to continue doing so as long as possible.

My bb nowadays like to sleep on her side instead of on her back...so worried that she might suffocate if her face suddenly roll facing the bed . She also wanted to sleep on our bed instead of her baby cot... As such both hubby n myself can't move a lot when sleeping.

We tried to let her drink milk mixed with cereal but she vomited out few times. We have stopped doing so n wait till she is 6 mths old.

nnicole,
happy bellies only have brown rice leh but thanks for sharing.

rejoy28,
i ordered through a lady in this forum. she doing iherb spree. but didn't buy the white rice because got to wait to collect and my friend ask me help buy other items and she needs it soon. i will check out ntuc to see got white rice or not. but i read the tmc books, they say only to start with brown rice, no mention of white rice. i thought both are rice lah, so should be ok even if i can't get the white rice cos not cheap $7.10. can last how long i packet? 1 week if eat everyday? i will keep a lookout for it since still early. guess i will feed more water than once he starts cereal.

coco,
me also the same. i dare not bring those small quanity milk to ifc to let teacher feed. so i freeze those small amount i pump out at home then combine into one feed during weekend. better than nothing although i wonder any benefits still to baby since only get one or two feeds of bm. morning i still latch him. only night i express. sigh.

my bb also sleep on his sides these days. such his thumb. how to stop this habit or will they stop themselves? i worry his thumb smelly and will the nails turn soft and rot since keep sucking?

cereal. i only start 6 mths per my pd altho my mil have been nagging and nagging say 4mths can start and say i deprive my bb of nutrients if i don't. sigh. i just close one ear.

pofy: ahha, what i did when they started nagging at 4mths was to give in halfway. i let them feed bb the rice water (pronounce "arh-m" in hokkien) that is in the rice cooker like slightly before the rice is completely dry up. so it has the nutrients of rice but yet is still in water form. can feed by spoon to train bb or feed by bottle (faster and less messy). as for cereal i will also wait till 6mths :-)

mrschun: yups, change quite some time already. now using the 4-6mths type, faster flow. bb kept crying last time when using the stage 1 teat so changed loh.

Same here my BB sometimes also will flip n slp side ways else he'll lie on his tummy while he flip during slp.. I also scare he might suffocate so I turn to his back.. yes he also like to suck his thumb n sometimes put 4 fingers in till wanna vomit but will con'd sucking!

Teats
I straight away switch from no 1 to no 3 when he turn 3+ mth.. so now he's 4mth he's still on no 3 teats. Initially MIL mention tat he drink till 'too rush' wif milk flowing out from
his mouth like will choke, ask us to try no 2 but we didn't buy anyway.. so we slowly train him then he's better.

I have been busy preparing myself to start work. Staring on Monday.Having mixed feelings.Feel like a newbie at work with so much changes that has happened over the past 4 mths.

Hope that I can continue my milk supply as I intend to bf long term.Seeing all the comments on mummies that started work really make me worry if I can sustain.

Winny- my bb now sleeping pattern is short naps day time and longer hours at night.

Vaccination
My bb just took his second dose of 5 in 1,rotavirus etc.He is 6.5kg n 61 cm.Finally I have an update on his weight n height.
But my next appt is still 2 mths later in April when bb is 6mths old. He will be taking his 3rd dose then.

1st time, i got my baby to suckle till he burst the blister...u will feel that the pain is relieved immerdiately, juz a tingling sensation...

my 2nd time, my boy din manged to burst it, hence, i used a clean needle to burst it...the milk will be ooshing out like crazy, but u will feel beta..however, this time i took longer to recover, as my nipple bleed abit as and when i latch on...esp the recovering process, coz the skin will be dried up...

i hav heard of frens gng to lactation consultant for help...

bubblygeekypig,
don't know leh. the scalp the last time i brought to pd he still got cradle cap. now no more but he still scratch. pd also didn't say anything when he say the bloody marks so i didn't ask much. next trip i go i will ask. but these days when my bb frustrated, he will pull own ears. sometimes he miss his ear then he will end up pulling his own hair and one batch will come off and next thing i know goes to his mouth cos he likes to suck his thumb.
i very upset. i don't know how to stop him from sucking thumb. my mil keep saying very dirty and its a bad habit. sigh

rejoy28,
don't be sad. i slowly weaning off already. my milk supply drop alot. sometimes can only get 50ml so i accumulate to one feed. my hubby say so tough especially now i have to work ask me to stop. i very tempted but still trying to perserve like CoCo. But Winny is right, no need to pump can save alot of time. Nowadays after i bring baby back becos i pump i waste 30 minutes cannot be with baby but only get 50ml, i wonder if the trade off between 50ml of milk and 30minutes more with baby which is more worth it. sigh.

forever81,
if u intend to poke yourself, make sure needle is clean and disinfected? i not sure can't advise much but at least i think needle have to be clean.

My BB like to suck his thumb too.. but we didn't really try to stop him la.. even sometimes we offer him pacifier he also dun wan.. I feel like applying BB oil on his scalp but scare he'll aft scratching his head he'll suck his thumb! Ya my BB also likes to do e same he'll pull his ear, scratch his head when frustrated.. even MIL also comment this BB a bit diff..

I told my Hubby my supply seems like dropping but he ask me to pump more often to.stimulate but it's such a waste of time n i can only pump in toilet...

winny: have read abt it in the past. most impt thing is whether u can take the time to use it frequently, cos its heavier than normal vac cleaner. and also how often u will use the wet function. so weigh the pros n cons first before u buy :-)

bubblygeekypig : nv heard of itchy scalp leh. can try put baby powder? those lotion type so tt no powder particles flying in the air. i feel put oil will worsen cos the pores on the head will get clogged.

winny,
i also seen the delphin vacumn cleaner demo before. Find the price too steep (ard $1.6k) and instead we bought the dyson vacumn cleaner ($700+) which has similar end result ( no dusty air emit fm the vacumn cleaner) so far we r happy with the dyson.

Just went for bb fourth mth injection. She is now 7.8kg and ht 65cm. Nurse said my bb going to be overweight soon as she is now at 90 percentile. On the other hand we r worried bb be underfed as recently she is rejecting milk n we need to spent an hr to force feed. She also skipped the night feeding thus she only need 5 times a day 150ml milk....

WATER BASED VACUUM
i bought Rainbow - $2k+
costly but worth it as first generation model served my mom for 30 years before it conked out.
water based vacuums better as can trap dustmites. coz i have dog so can suck up furs and all around me is BTOs very dusty.

CRADLE CAP
i bought Dentonix Cradle Cap shampoo. quite drying for bb hair. to get rid of the cradle cap - yellow scabs, i use cotton bud with baby oil rub on the cradle spots til it dislodge from bb scalp then shampoo head. this works better than shampoo alone.

HAIR SHAVING
my bb never shave at first month - snip abit only for tradition then 4th month shave left like 1-2 mm. his hair was sparse and some parts have some parts bald, so supposedly shave whole head will even it out and generate growth... hope so... looks very different now he is botak.....

Hi mummies,
How's everything?

Rejoy,
My bb started recognizing ppl when she was ard 3mths old... Now oso getting v obvious that she prefers my maid. Bb see my maid only will laugh and it's really laugh out that kind, not smile. Sigh, but I guess it's inevitable.

Weaning,
Anyone knows if there is any weaning talks coming up? I wanna learn more on how to giving solid to bb.

Really? Can they recognize ppl now? I tot only abt 8th mth then they start to choose who they want. Like that quite sad but like sweetsnow mentioned its inevitable.
What makes it worse is my mil puts her to nap beside her on the same bed everyday.

Yesterday I worked late and when I reach home my bb already fell asleep. I hope by feeding her in the middle of the night helps her to recognize my smell. But sometimes she wouldn't go back to bed after milk and I'm super tired the same morn... Like right now. She woke up at 3.45am for milk then wanted to suck pacifier and slept at 5.30!! Gosh!

try to endure n this phrase will past. My bb started to sleep thru the night when she is 4.5 mths. Thus the first 2 weeks of work was the most tiring period. Now we have better n longer scleep.

Hi mummies,

My baby is 4 mths old.. She realli recognize ppl, my mum say slowly she will start to recognize house too..

How to stop her from sucking fingers? It's irritating to see her sucking, when I took her fingers out she will immediately put in again.. And the worst is she sucked her fingers to sleep.. When I pulled out her fingers --- so red!!!

Hello!

Bubblygeek, my elder boy also stopped drinking milk when he was 3months old. In the end we dream feed him when he is almost asleep or even sleeping... He will suck very fast and finished the bottle. Awake, he will resist and cry and cry when we try to feed. Latching also dun want. I also give him solids from 4months onwards to supplement.

I am trying to drag my pumping intervals to 6/7hrs and not pump in the middle of the night. Any mummies do that? Will supply drop by alot?

My girl seems to be able to recognize familiar faces too. She loves her grandpa who takes care of her in the day and brings her downstairs to walk walk. Will do big big smile whenever he talks to her. Me, she largely ignores sigh. But I sang to her and I realise she is more responsive when I sing the songs she is familiar with.
