nuah,
my ah ma is the supervisor :p

sometimes i stick new words on the wall where they use their potty, so they sit and read them while peeing, LOL. they find it quite farni to read on the potty. we try to make it fun for them to learn (other than homework time); eg pretending not to know certain words in a mag or newspaper, then 'consult' them. or perhaps ask them to sell me $5 worth of groceries when they are playacting

Bao,

Wow both ur ah ma n u really good leh....make it so fun....

Maybe I should make it less serious yah....at times when c1 is playing ...she will take out het wallet n ask us wat we wanna buy etc then she buy for us, or when there is interesting news such ad earthquake m tsunami then we ask her to watch the news or "read" the newspaper n explain to her.....

So stressful to teach kids these days...

Nuah,
C1 is only in Nursery le.
Watching news & reading the papers is a good practice but not only on disasters.

Children at her age may not be able to grasp such news and it may cause them indirect stress.
They will question why this world is so ugly, scary etc.

Let them enjoy carefree life for as long as possible ba :-)

Bao,
Ur ah ma is indeed a very very good supervisor/assistant :-)

Are my Crazy8 loots at her plc?
Tmr am taking Aly for walk in the morning if bo rain.
I can pop by to collect 1st.
Hey, you still haven bill me wor.

Nuah,
Hehehe, it's she1 li4. It's a kind if lynx, cheem hor. :-) those books I order from dangdang are really something, we can definitely not see this type of standard here.

Good that C1 is keen to learn ah, must 好好栽培. Very easy to teach if they are more willing to learn. Maybe 1st borns are like this hor? E also sama sama :-)

bao,

wow...wat kind of books u ordered from Dang Dang huh? Ya, my cousin's daughter is studying in Shanghai now as her mom stationed there for abt 2 yrs....yes, according to them the standard is so different and she will definetly hv no pro with her chinese when they return to spore....

C's chinese teacher is also from china and wow...their chinese is like wowowowow...c1 came back and tell me about this chinese idioms and hb and me was like huh wat does it means and thot C1 did not pronounce properly...hence, went to sch to ask her teacher and she explained to me wat it means...and yes C1 pronounce correctly ;)

Agreed...easier to teach if the kids are more willing to learn. think c2...hmmm not easy to teach her....sigh sigh...

yes, her teacher said since she is willing to learn and learn fast too....must 好好栽培 her...next time will be easier on her and us.

nuah,
hehehe, yah, bo roof, so kelian! we are looking to move in Sept, keeping fingers crossed :p

teach maths ah? errrrm, i have my own method lah, very difficult to explain in text here. for simple addition and subtraction, ask them to use fingers or draw sticks lor, hehehehe. or use counters

other areas like time & money need some explaining, not easy for them to grasp yet. now only teaching them how to tell the hours, minutes still buay sai!

Like this morning, my washing machine decided to go kaput on me. Had to rush out to order one else can't launder clothes. :-( so I have a BIG pressie coming in tmr, LOL. And it's not gonna fit into the current machine's space so my kitchen is gonna look so ugly with a huge appliance sitting in the middle, darn......

shd be renting out in full, since we dun intend to bring our furniture with us

SKR also has sandals, they are very adorable but i find that they aren't lasting. tend to peel & scuff more easily as the outer layer is softer. Umi on the other hand is very lasting. i still can manage to sell away C's Uni shoes but not her SKR ones since usually the latter is very lan4 by then! hehehehehe

hehehe, my BIG prssie just arrived, woohoo, so happy can finally launder clothes again! so many buttons to press, shiok! bot LG brand's fuzzy logic, old model but i prefer it cos the lastest model has a heavy tempered glass top, sure cannot last if my helper is using it, war har har har!!! she'll either crush her own fingers or break the glass....

my old washing machine conked at 10 years old, deserves a medal for lasting that long :p and the white goods in our house always conk out when hubby is out of town! then i have to chiong out to replace, hehehehe. first it was the fridge, then the washer... things only happen when he bo ti *wink wink*

hmmmm, shoes for older girls ah? actually i just buy whatever is comfy and value for money. i'm now stocking up footwear from ON, GYM, Marks & Spencer, Polo. and of course my fav Amazon :-) maybe can try Primigi and Naturino, also comfy but not very swee lor. older girls will have more selections, can wear kitten heels, wedges, skimmers and sexy strappy sandals, yippee!!

what size is meg wearing now? C is finally a size 8, slow growth sia :p
