newmummy,
thnx for the info.

i just came back from genting. the weather was pretty cold, duno wats the exact temp but it was very cold in the evening and at night. it was raining when we got there on mon so can only let L play the indoor rides. aiyo, its only car rides and merry-go-round for L. she not sian but i see her play i sian. the weather was kind to us on tues so got to play outdoor rides. L enjoyed herself and i got to play an adult thrill ride while my hb jaga L at the playground. although i let L take a flu jab about 3weeks ago, she's still falling sick and she threw up twice during the trip but all in all she still had a good time.

re: flu jab
i took a flu jab once and i must say it does help thats why i let L take one too as her PD said that the flu bug is active end of the year

nuah,
think its adviceable to let C wear thermal clothes like wat bao suggested becos firstly winter kind of cold is different than aircon kind of cold. and since juxta said the weather is so unpredictable so better to go prepared in case the weather turns very cold.

morning.....

for 15 degree tink thermal wear is not needed.
remember tat the weather is crazy.
if wear thermal wear inside & mid day it turned warm/hot, you will need to stripe your child.

layer C clothes.
grab a good wind breaker or jacket, scraf n hat.
wear tights socks. it's not too tight yet will keep the feet n lower body warm.
and there are sooooooooooo cute :-)

Bao,
in tat case, i collect the shoe first la.
at your ah ma's?

guess it depends on the item bah. i found tt kiddies stuff tend to sell better if preloved. other stuff, very slow-moving! once a while then will have a sale , hiak hiak hiak. sometimes i just bundle up the terrors' clothes / shoes / books and sell cheaply, seng li not bad!

welcome potbelly!

hmm.. i got a qn to ask.. was just wondering y people wanna organise so many sprees? i mean i understand u ladies wanna split the shipping cost all that.. that's normal.

I'm referring to those in the overseas spree corner, some of the organisers are really serious spree oganisers! They can organise so many diff spress at 1 time and contiune to organise new ones when the sprees close?!I hv seen some like organising 5 sprees at one time and diligently opens new sprees once the old ones close.. dun tell me she got so much to buy?

nuahcouple, congrats!! :-)

yk, actually i'm quite confused by the threads on the bp and overseas spree list.. that's why i haven't bought anything from them yet.

lianrong, 3 months! my gynae said 2 months... hmm.. should i wait for another month? are you sure by 3 months, it will be ttoo late??

bookdepository? i have only bought from amazon so far.. acma i just started trying it out, just bought 1 batch, still waiting for it to arrive. is bookdepository local or us based? the online shops should be having christmas sale soon leh, even orchard road's lightings are up already...
dunno whether to order through acma now or wait..

hehehe, mine longer wait cos my scar pretty long mah! almost 20cm... *faint*

my fault cos am too lazy to start light exercises. couldn't even sit on floor at 3 months post-delivery cos of backache. maybe u shd start soon to avoid having a perm belly like mine, kekekekeke!

bookdepo is a UK online website. sometimes they have good discounts & the shipping is free! :-)

acma ah... we tried also, with some good savings too

Bao, nono.. i ordered direct to China supplier on their websites, very very cheap.. almost 50% less than the bp sellers in smh. But then again I hv friends in China lah, so i can save on shipping fees! hehe.. U kn, the training chopsticks that they sell here is ard SGD10 plus, if order fr China it's ard SGD2-3 only.

Pot, bp is easier, it is like buying fr sin (cos most of the time all the price/cost are clearly stated already), only thing is some of them are pre-order, so u need to wait quite a while. For Overseas spree, u pay for wait u see on the supplier websites and usually need to pay a 2nd time for the shipping fees.. so far I had never participated in overseas sprees, as I dunno how much the shipping will cost in the end.. I prefer BP, but BP price are not necessary low at times.

Anyway, I am not the expert here in online shopping! Our shopping queen is Bao! let her advise u! keke..

bao, i haven't measured the length of my scar. maybe i will go and measure it later...

i signed up for the stanchart run, but my gynae and my hubby banned me from going... so can't go. haha.ok. gotta start exercising. maybe get up in the morn, after 1st feed to go.. haiz...

they ship to sg for free? but will take quite long right? maybe i get the 1st gd book, then the rest wait for the sale.

the best disc for acma is 27% if i order 4 books cos dun have hsbc card. i have so many credit cards (ppl keep ringing me up to get free cards) but no hsbc.. think must go and cancel some of those useless cards. :p

yk, ya, think cos most of the things are made in china anyway. so prob cheaper to get from the source..

haiz.. i see the many threads with all the winkies, i'm already blur... think next time i just ask bao... prob she knows if it's a good price or not.. sometimes go through the trouble also dunno if the price is good or not.

wah, am not expert hor. i just happen to shop more nia! i enjoy buying things for the terrors then sell them on ebay! har har har!

yk,
cool! at least u can save on the shipping :-) hubby always going to china but he 1) has no time to shop; 2) dunno what to buy for the terrors. so i also dun ask him. but i like dangdang books, the range is awesome but bo free courier to bring back for me lately :-(

actually hor, not that i'm biased against chinese goods but i find the wooden stuff though cheap, have unsanded sides. couple of time i bot from BPs , the items similar to Melissa & Doug types but the quality is blah... can see splinters even. i also dare not let my terrors play with them... lemme know if ur Mother Garden turns out good, maybe can consider getting :p

potbelly,
yah, they deliver to your doorstep literally. the books are sent in padded envelopes individually. takes abt 7-10 days for the items to arrive after placing order. and the best part, can use local credit card! woohoo! can go wild sia...

ya bao.. some of the wooden toys I ordered fr bp was really low qlty. So now trying this, will let u kn if it is ok.

hey, if ur hubby is always in China, can "tong pang" him to bring back stuff or not? keke..

Why dun u try tabao.com.. they hv almost everything under the sun. If there's anything u are interested, I can get my friend to buy for us, as China credit card is easier.. for overseas buyer, I still cannot figure out how to buy using our cc.

yk,
he has an office there but always bo lang. they usually travel round china, that's why i can't fwd the items to him lor. we tried already, believe me, mbb & nuah waited soooo long for their dangdang orders till fed up, har har har!!! ended up joining spree instead!

unless he happens to see something in his shopping list then he'll buy, but in shopping areas lah, hence prices will be higher than wholesale/online. but still cheap, so can't complain

okies, knocking off liao. chat with you ladies either tonite or tmr :-)

I hv never ordered fr dang dang before, dunno how it works.. if u gals can order directly, then better still, I will ask my friend to give us her address, then u can forward your items to her, once all ur items in, either she courier to Bao's hubby China office (or if he can pick up fr her - she's in Shanghai) at an arrange date or she courier back to sin for us lor. But got to reimburse her for the courier fees lor.. Local courier in China is relatively cheap ba (think less than SGD10), but overseas one i tried once, abt SGD$30 for 1 kg.

But if u cannot order directly, or need a China credit card, then I got to ask my friend if she can help order first or not.

potbelly,
welcome. i've a 2.5yo gal living in TPY. i joined the PR mums thread when i was living with my parents while i was doing my confinement there.

re: overseas spree
i totally appreciate those organisers cos firstly i duno how to organise sprees and even if know, i'm not that organised to sort out everything especially the shipping fees part. i usually join sprees to order supplements for my gal. much cheaper than buying locally even with shipping fees included.

mbb, if it is just for collection of the parcel and passing to Bao's hubby, shld not be any problem for her! hehe.. (I assume so lah!haha)

But if ask her to help order, that I really hv to check with her. So wld prefer if Bao can consolidate and order via hubby ATM card. But if really cannot, I will ask her lor, see if she minds or not.

hehehehe, seems like we'll most likely have to ma fan YK's friend to take receipt then! hubby shd be okay with paying with his ATM card via internet trf. he's going to shanghai end month so we can use next week to consol orders. i have asked him last nite already and he's ok with picking up the books

1) we can order more books and leave with YK's friend but slowly bring back
2) order less and cart all back this round

which is preferable?
