Hi all, eversince my ds started his nursery class, he kept falling sick. He got a recurrence of cold and coughing(wif lots of phelgm tht would lead to his asthma)..although i've started on the cod's liver oil that was recommended by the doctor. Yesterday went to the doctor again and he asked me to switch his formula milk(pediasure)as he is a fussy eater..to soya milk.. and no nuts as he suspected that my son got the allergy to cow's milk/nuts that lead him to have a lot of phelgm when he coughs. Any mommies out there who got the same experience as me that care to share? And now, i'm worried too as my son is a fussy eater, it's so difficult to let him have a proper meal that consists of rice, meat and veges. He only likes to eat bread. And anybody know, when ur child is coughing with phelgm..r there any kind of foods that i need to omit on his meal...pls help anyone. |

No citrus fruits, grapes, cold drinks etc. I make almond seed soup ( nan bei xing and chuan bei powder) for my kids once in a while to strengthen the lungs. |

My dd was quite sick through the nursery, k1 years. I started giving her multi=vits (Child life is pretty good) and fish oil (nordic naturals, doesn't have a fishy taste) and she has since gotten less sick. I think as they grow older, they also get stronger, so may take time. |

Hi Suhani, had my fair share of sick days with my then 2 year old son. But I know it must be something wrong with his immune system. From my pharmacist friend's advise, now I;m giving both my children (in nursery and K2) daily supllements...they are also fussy eaters. For their own good, everyday I make them take Jungamal (multivit/multiminerals + antioxidants), marine omega (omega 3 with krill oil) and probio ( live good bacteria) for almost 2 years now. They seldom fall sick and even if they do, they will recover in an ave of 2-3 days. This is my greatest joy. Cod liver oil is no longer helpful nowadays as it only provide vit A,D and E. Its useful during our time cos many children are deficient in these vits, now our children need more as our food can't provide the essentials anymore. Plus, if my son's coughing, I will add colostrum and cordymax. |

Hi Easy, cordymax is a standardised extract of cordyceps mushroom. I'm sure you have learned abt the use of cordyceps in strengthening the lungs. It has helped my family deal with coughs. |

Thanks for explanation. Ya, was wondering if boiling the real cordyceps is better, fresher? |

Hi EASY, not necessarily. That's why I chose Pharmanex because of the 6S quality process. Boiling the cordyceps may determine the amt of active ingredient plus it cost more for the less effective remedy and also troublesome... |

Ginsengmum, fish oil Id' recommend Nordel, it's currently the only fish oil in the market that is awarded with a seal of approvement for lead levels. MultiVit many on the market and all about the same in terms of content. I buy Animal Parade cos they come in both chewable and liquid form. I don't buy the gummy ones. |

hi cristy, if you are still reading the forum, do you mind sharing what brand fish oil and milti vit your son is taking? coz u mentioned u tried other brands and no effect. pls share thanks so much. Rozana, may I know where did you get Cordymax? my kid is coughing for many mths now, on and off. this time continuous for 2 mths, very very stressful. worried about his lungs, worried about his health. taking steriods inhaler twice a day and nasal spray at this time coz doc just started treating it as sensitivity. i really hope can find some relief here. tried singulair, whole course, doesn't help at all. |

hi mummy, i can totally understand our feeling,we cant even sleep well when they are ill. hope dis can help u sometimes there are few reasons why they've been coughing non stop, sometimes its probably due to their sensitive lung,so no matter how u gv them cough syrup.they will continue coughing. if dis the case, make sure u give them garlic and i'm sure their cough will stop.even for those with asthmatic,a friend of mine been coughing for so long,so i experinced by giving her the garlic and i works. i gave my son the usana multivits $29,fishoil s$40, vitamin c $40 ( 120 tablets ) and the garlic only available from australia i can rest assure yr kids will gt better but most importantly u feed them daily. hope yr kid recover soon. take care |

HI, you can contact me for the pharmanex jungamal and cordymax. I'm a mum and safety is the most important aspect for me. I only trust pharmanex because of their 6S quality assurance, to me, this means I know how much active ingredient i get frm each caps and no toxins in each formula.because in 6S, they also include safety. |
