Hi Aimee, Me just back from HK. Love the weather there right now, cool not hot! But very cramp n polluted! N very amazed that the people dont seem to sleep at all, late at night still can see many shopping around. Sigh...my trip was tiring, mainly coz of pumping. Need to pump every 4hrs, else my poor breasts will become distorted until horribly pathetic. N need to find those clean toilets eg. shopping malls n touristy places. If go night markets, then cant pump at all. So i wld take a break n go back hotel to pump. Luckily also, as if i stay longer in the night markets, i will buy even more! Oh, my boy's a bit like urs too, very bad-tempered, wants mean wants immediately. Sigh....very young master temperament. Haha, n when i was in hk, he kept looking at my bed(the place where i bf him)n then for 2nights he cried so much till his voice turned coarse! My pils were afraid that this would disturb my hol mood so they kept the fact from me until the last day of my trip! I froze the milk also no use, coz when i back to Spore, all those frozen ones thawed. So in the end i had to throw away 13bags! The rest i didnt freeze, just put them in milk bags n bottles n keep cold. So at least not so bad, else i very heart-pain! Haha, u cant imagine huh? Actually i also didnt realise i hv so many milk bags in freezer until one day i counted, n realised it hit almost 60! I think i'm crazy also, coz now i wonder i pump so much for what???!!! Wanted to take my boy along initially but then as it's to hk, thats y hubby n i decided not to risk it. Not really a good season to take bb to hk in wintertime as spread of sickness will be easier in such temp. Well, if u r going to countries like Australia or Malaysia, should be ok to bring bb along. N if u need to bf bb, can actually go to clean toilet to do it if the country doesnt allow public bf. Hows ur ss now? Better? Just wanna tell u that u've done well so far, n bb is already 4mths rite? So he has already benefitted much from ur bm. Dont be upset! |

Hi Irenevinc, Your baby is so beautiful! I'm still bfing cos too lazy to wash and sterilise bottles My boy was 7.4kg at 4 mths. Will be 5 months next Wednesday. He has learnt how to flip (before 4 months). Think he's learning how to crawl. Recently, he has been sticking his bottom up and pushing himself forward. He's a real headache at this stage. Wow Leibit, You went Hong Kong. Really envy you. Can't go anywhere now cos' on one-year leave and hence no income. Must save $$. Hope to go abroad next year when I return to work. Hi all, Was changing my baby's cot sheet when I found some disgusting green stuff growing on the mattress!!! So horrified and quickly threw the mattress away. Could you imagine the baby licking the mattress? Found out from my friend that the mattress must be sunned at least once a week. If you are as sotong as me, better go check the mattress and start sunning it. My baby's photos...

Hi Irenevinc, I din shave his hair. He started shedding his hair during 3-4 months. In addition, his hair is very fine and brown, hence can't really see his hair. Saw your girl's photo again. Still think she's very pretty. |

Hi Leibit, Yalor...save $$ on haircut. My boi is also mastering his art of screaming. Happy, scream; angry, also scream. No worry, the hair will grow back. One year leave...now think about it, also feel a bit crazy and overly courageous...realli a bit too long a break. Thank God, still got end year bonus and connect plan to last the no pay leave. However, it is realli a joy to take care of the baby yourself. Very tiring but you realli watch him grow. |

Hi irenevinc, It's really tough having to pump and work at the same time...me beginning to drop one session in the AM, cos cant wake up in time to pump and bring bb to nanny Have to make up for it before i go to bed at night loh.. My boy was 7kg at 4mths plus... Hi leibit, Ya loh, nowadays bb very smart liao...to think he'll gaze at your bed...must miss you alot! Good that you have so much stock...keep some so that you can use it 'for a rainy day' ok will perservere on still...hope to at least feed till 6months, then maybe reduce to feed at night only Hi augustmum, that means you havent start pumping to store milk yet? Then have you went out without bb?? Real envy you leh...can be a SAHM Din shave bb's hair initially too..then the other day was thinking his hair dropped so much, and he keeps pulling his hair, so bring him to shave till left short short. Cos alot of mums were saying shave already their hair growth will be thicker, so nicer for boys. Gals can leave it to grow, cos want thin fine hair mah But can tell he dun like it without hair...was quite grouchy that weekend we cut his hair botak! ;p PS: Anyone started their bb on semi-solids like cereal? Me actually bought a pack of those rice cereal by dumex for bb, but the nanny say dun start so early for fear of indigestion? But the other time when we saw a GP for nappy rash he recommend us to start introducing things like apple....any advise? Christmas Eve today... WISH ALL MUMS AND BB MERRY CHRISTMAS! |

Me have to start work soon... ARGH it's one more week before school reopens!! Dreading it. Augustmum, I envy you! Can stay home! I can only get my Connect Plan $$$ next Dec. I think after collecting that money and next year's bonus, I'll quit. I just discovered this week that my baby girl doesn't like frozen EBM. She was whining throughout when she was bottle fed the warmed up milk. Does frozen EBM taste different from those that are just refrigerated? Does it smell funny? My EBM only less than one month old wat... can't be spoilt. Oh well, at least I can save myself the trouble of pumping milk. It's quite gross to do it in the staff toilet anyway. I can now without any guilt, stop breastfeeding her once I start work. Will try out whether I can still continue to produce milk in the morning and nite so that i can conveniently feed her with direct latch on, esp in the middle of the nite. I so hate washing and sterilising bottles. So "ma fan"... My girl was 6.3 kg at 4 months. She already looks chubby to me. Can't imagine all your babies who are 7kg at 4 months! Leibit, I donno whether to cut my girl's hair or not. She was born with a thick mop of hair... now long already, she sweat sooo much! Smelly smelly. But cut hair already sure makes her look even more boyboy. With her long hair, wear dress or pink clothes, I still have pple asking me whether she's a boy or girl... Aiyoh! |

Hi cookiedough, Not sure why your gal doesnt like ebm. Sometimes the smell does differ a little after freeze & thaw. i think they can taste slightly different too...cant remember what's the factor causing the change though. can anyone help? Well, if your staff toilet is clean enough why not? when i go out shopping i always try to look for nursing room or if not a cleaner exec toilet to use for pumping..if not bo bian leh. Hopefully i can also only feed at night when i return from work and other times let him drink formula when he turns 6 months...dunno possible or not leh. Me getting tired of those nursing clothes...so ugly and they're really beginning to make me look ah soh! Hm...depends on the length then can tell whether chubby or not Got pics to show us? Sigh, you got thick hair also problem..and we mums are wondering if our ah boy's hair will grow back! |

Hi aimee, I've already achieved my personal target of BFing my girl for 4 months (okay, I supplemented after 2 months). Quite glad lor. Actually it became so much easier after the 2nd month. Don't wanna totally wean yet though cos nite feeds are so good with BF.. she usually konks off right after the middle-of-nite BF. But anyway, I won't bother to pump in the staff toilet. You see already you'll know why. I got myself 4 nursing tops from Moms in Mind... after a while i just stopped wearing them. I don't even wear nursing bras cos I can't fill them up! All come in B cups. Siao lor, I only A cup, always got the crumpled look. Also pai seh, can see outline of nipple. So now I wear back all my old clothes and bras, when I need to nurse, just unhook at the back and lift up my blouse. I even did that in the nursing corner in my church. Don't wear the nursing clothes if u can manage with normal clothes. Get a shawl or something to hide your exposure if u want. Even more stylo. My girl's length... when newborn, she was like slightly more than half of her cot's breadth. Now she's like almost the full breadth of the cot. Don't know her exact length now. She still can't flip over. She looks kinda anxious when we place her belly down too... cos she hardly is placed in that position. Help her to flip over and after a while she starts licking the bedsheet and then starts panicking... cos her tongue can't help her to push her face away from the bed! ;P |

IRRESPONSIBLE BABYSITTER AND AGENT!!! Agent: PETER ONG ENG HOCK HP: 9388-9332 PGR: 9263-9882 Agency: JIA HOUSEHOLD CARE SERVICES Address: 179, RIVER VALLEY, #05-11, RIVER VALLEY BUILDING, S(179033) Babysitter: MDM ONG Address: Blk 625 Senja Road #05-146, S(670625) ------------------------------- Yesterday, went to my ex-nanny (Mdm Ong) house to collect my boy clothing. I asked her for the bal deposit, she told me that our agent (Peter) told her not to return us the balance monies. Peter even told her that we are suppose to give her 1 week notice if we found another new nanny. That stupid hypocrite didn’t tell us that we are suppose to give her 1 WEEK notice ??? I even asked him to look for another nanny for us as Mdm Ong already informed us to look for another nanny. How can he said that ? So I asked Mdm Ong to called him because I wanted to clarify whether is she telling the truth. She called Peter & told him that I want her to return us our monies. He asked Mdm Ong NOT TO OPEN THE DOOR, IF WE COME TO HER HOUSE to collect my boy clothing. He even said that she DON’T HAVE TO RETURN US OUR MONIES & JUST IGNORE US. Then Mdm Ong told him that we were already in her house & beside her now. She wanted me to talk to Peter personally to clarify the whole matter but that IRRESPONSIBLE Peter don’t even dare to talk to me. He told Mdm Ong that he’s very busy & quickly hanged up the phone. I’m so angry how can he be so irresponsible & who is he to decide that Mdm Ong shouldn’t return us our money ???? That bloody sissy, don’t even dare to sit down & sort things out, he just go on hiding. ---------------------- Please be cautious when you are looking for a babysitter agency. We would like to share with you our true life experience. Our ex-nanny (Mdm Ong) was introduced to us by Peter. During the interview, we informed them that we needed her to take care of our son day and night, sending him over on Sun night and picking him up on Fri night. They agreed verbally. No contract was signed. Mdm Ong initially took good care of our boy, born in Dec 2004. But things started to change in Jun 2005. This is a summary of what had happened: 1. We were not informed that the nanny's daughter was also pregnant and her estimated delivery date is in Feb 2005. After her daughter’s confinement in Mar 2005, she helped to look after her granddaughter at the same time! As we needed day & night care for our son, we did not expect her to do so! 2. As the babies' age gap was so close, we doubted that she could handle them both simultaneously. However, she reassured us many times that the situation "will only be temporary". In addition, the agent (Peter) also assured us that the nanny will be "professional" enough not to handle more than one baby. 3. When her granddaughter began to stay with her in late March, we noticed that she shared the baby products we provided her for our son's exclusive use. This included formula milk, clothing, milk bottles, wipes, diapers, etc. Although we do not have concrete proof, but the speed of use is proof enough. Seeing that our son is still in "good care", we decided to close one eye on this, even though it was at our expense! 4. On 27 June 2005 (after taking care for 4 months), Mdm Ong informed us to look for another nanny because her daughter needed her to take care of her granddaughter! Isn't it supposed to be only temporary?! 5. Anyway, this coincided with the time when we had to change the formula milk (from infant FM to 6mths FM). Also perhaps she finds it a hassle to cook and feed our son, who has to start taking porridge and cereal as he was 6 months old. As we needed time to source for another nanny, we had no choice but to let her continue to take care of our son as we had work commitments. 6. On 3 July 2005 (Sun night), when we brought him back to her house, we smelled something is burning in her kitchen but she insisted the smell was from downstairs. The next minute, I saw burning smoke from her kitchen dustbin! It’s actually a cigarette! We did not even know that someone smoke in the house! She quickly poured water into her dustbin. 7. The next morning (Mon), it was raining very heavily and we had to send some things over to her. We saw that she dressed our dear son only in a T-shirt and diapers and left him sitting near an open window! Her darling granddaughter was dressed in long-sleeved and long-pants thick pyjamas in a bouncer away from the open window! 8. Knowing that our son is no longer in good care, we quickly found another babysitter and sent him there on 10 Jul 2005, 2 weeks after Mdm Ong inform us to look for someone else. 9. Before we rendered her service, we placed a $700 deposit (1 month) with her. As Mdm Ong was the one who requested us to look for another nanny, we assume that she will refund us the balance deposit ($150) which we placed with her. However, she turned around and said that we were the ones who wanted to terminate her service and refused to return us the balance! 10. Fed up with liasing with her, we called Peter on 9 Jul 2005 and told him what happened. We requested him to help us to chase for our money. After that, he MIA and refused to answer our phonecalls. We continued to try to contact him. When finally we got him, he told us to go SMALL CLAIM COURTS to claim back our money! Not to mention, there was no contract signed nor documents drawn for rendering Mdm Ong's service so how can I file a report?! He’s so irresponsible and unprofessional, yet we had to pay him commission of $60! Really cannot believe that he provided such lousy service! Anyway, up till today (26 Jul 2005), we have yet to claim our money back. We want to warn everyone out there not to use Peter's or Mdm Ong's service. PLS HELP TO SPREAD THIS TO ALL MUMMIES, FRIENDS OR COLLEAGUES!!! |

Hi Oranges, sorry to hear about what happened. My cousin-in-law friend had an even worse experience - the nanny was looking after 2 babies and she fed both cough syrup so that they will sleep longer. the other bb's mother was concern why her bb sleep so much and found the many bottles of cough syrup in the fridge. at the same time they found out the nanny was a alcoholic who stocked lots of beer at home for herself.. that was the last straw and they pulled the bb out from her care and called the police... |
